Saw this new brunch spot in Bensonhurst on social media and decided to try it out. Nice interior…read morewith a good amount of tables. There's a cute seating area in the front for waiting and just a quick coffee break, if you don't want a full dine-in meal. This cafe/brunch spot is kinda casual; you can walk in and grab any available table/seating. The servers will take your order and serve you. We ordered the Mexican omelette, truffle cheeseburger, and French toast. The menu is pretty standard compared to other cafes/brunch spots. The Mexican omelette had jalapeños, which made the omelette spicy, rather than the usual green peppers other restaurants put in. I don't mind it but just a FYI for those who can't eat spicy. The truffle cheeseburger came with fries but was kinda disappointing -- usually truffle dishes are pretty overpowering with the distinct truffle smell/taste but it was lacking in this dish. If anything, the cheese overpowered the whole burger. The French toast is just okay, in my opinion -- not too sweet. Overall, food was standard -- nothing outstanding. Service was OK and could be improved. One of the servers gave our dish to the table next to us and we had to point out their mistake. Mistakes happen but then I overheard them forgetting to place a food item for the same table, so I'm thinking the servers might need extra training. She also spilled water on our table.

It looks like this is a brand-new place on Grubhub. I'm…read morealways willing to support a local small business, but I also leave honest reviews so other customers know what to expect. I ordered avocado toast with eggs and a pastry. The only real positive was the bread itself, which was fresh, large, and actually tasted good. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. Although the avocado seemed less generic than standard store-bought guacamole, the taste was not good. The eggs were terrible -- they looked very unappetizing, tasted awful, and appeared nothing like the photo shown on Grubhub. The same photo also showed a small side salad, but no salad was included. I requested chili oil, and that was missing as well. The added cheese had virtually no flavor, so overall the dish felt careless, incomplete, and extremely unsatisfactory. I also checked the box requesting utensils, but no utensils or napkins were included. However, to be clear, this review is not about forgotten utensils. It is about the overall lack of quality, attention to detail, and customer care. The pastry was another culinary failure. It was sold under the French name -"Pan Au Raisin" but it was nothing like what real "Pain Aux Raisins " supposed to be, it was bland, greasy, oily and missing the traditional custard base plus it was delivered in an undersized paper envelope that left the food exposed, a clear violation of basic sanitary standards for food transport. Most importantly, this order caused me stomach pain and GI upset. This was the only food I had eaten in a 24-hour period, and more than 24 hours later I still felt unwell. The owner's reply to my original review was patronizing, dismissive, and refused to take any real accountability. Instead of addressing the food quality issues, the missing items, the poor packaging, and the physical reaction I had to the order, the response tried to reduce the entire problem to utensils and push the conversation into private email. I am keeping this public so other customers can make an informed decision. I wanted to support a new local business, but the bad taste, poor execution, misleading presentation, lack of care, and dismissive management made that impossible. Based on this experience, I would not order again and would not recommend this place to friends or family.

A Warm, Authentic Gem You'll Fall in Love With…read more My fiancée, Likseva, and I stopped in tonight on our way back to Brooklyn and it instantly became one of those special finds you never forget. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with kindness and warmth by the owner, a lovely Montenegrin-Albanian woman who runs this restaurant with genuine pride and heart. You can feel her touch in everything, from the cozy lighting to the soft music playing in the background. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was layered with flavor, balance, and soul. You can tell this is real Mediterranean cuisine, made by someone who truly loves what she does. The staff was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was calm and comforting, and everything about the evening felt genuine. This is more than a restaurant. It's a place built on tradition, care, and love. Likseva and I will absolutely be coming back soon to visit the owner again and enjoy another beautiful dinner together. As a Marine Corps Colonel who has traveled and dined all over the world, I can say that Cafe Latte is a place that stands out in every way. Highly recommended. #CafeLatte #StatenIsland #MediterraneanCuisine #HiddenGem #MarineCorpsColonelApproved #BrooklynToStatenIsland #AlbanianHospitality #MontenegrinSpirit #LiksevaAndMark "Me zemër e me shpirt" - with heart and soul
