It's a cute little store. Prior to entering, you will see beautiful flowers outside the store. Not much colors since it's cold and lost its lust. Anyways, we were party of five and ordered several drinks. Service was great however the drinks lacked the flavor. Across the board, it was the mutual remarks. I ordered matcha latte which was generic with a decent green color. However, it did not have the wow factor to crave or come back for me. That was my personal experience. When I first looked this place up for a Sunday brunch excursion, I didn't know that their menu was vegan. I was apprehensive at first, but I figured why not, right? Well, I have to say, I was very impressed with the egg, potato, and cheese menu item. The eggs were fluffy, the hashbrown was perfectly fried, and the cheese was so melty. The staff were also super nice, and the baristas were helpful when trying to select a coffee for me. The people working there seem genuinely friendly. The cafe is cutely decorated in the front, with flowers painted on the walls, and even the garbage can. I ordered an americano and a vegan croissant to have there. The americano was perfect, little acidity and not scalding hot. The vegan croissant was not the best vegan croissant I had. Almost like a roll. But I know it's hard to find a good vegan croissant. I wish they didn't use single use cups and plates for people who are staying to eat but I guess it makes it easier for clean up. But even so, I wish they were at least compostable. After being turned away by a nearby diner that wasn't seating anyone inside, switched over to this bustling cafe on a Saturday morning. Most of the patrons were taking items to go, so took advantage of the various seating options and got a table at the back. Between two people, split the Avocado Toast ($9.50), Berry Muffin ($4ish), Frittata ($6ish), and a couple of Lattés ($4.50 each). The avocado toast is served on thick-sliced whole grain bread; topped by radish, onions, tomatoes, feta, and oils. Good balance between the bread and the ingredients on top, while nothing tasted stale. Muffin is equally fresh, soft and crumble inside with a crisp exterior. Frittata is a bit of overkill, good with a side of hot sauce. Food is about four stars, but the service takes it up a notch. Really friendly staff as well as a cozy atmosphere. We went for the coffee and ended up eating there- and it did not disappoint! I had the vegan egg, hash brown, greens and avocado sandwich on a croissant- delicious! My daughter tried their avocado, feta, and pepita toast- and she's been raving about it and wanting to go back ever since. We also split their spinach and cheese pastry, which was very tasty, as well. Nice and clean place and bathroom, with no complaints from us. Okay I've been looking for the best coffee on the north shore and this might be it. You know a spot is good if they nail a simple black coffee & this spot did just that. Personally, I hate the super bitter coffee that is trending right now and this is not it. Rich, bold Arabica blend. Staff are very friendly, cafe was super clean and well decorated, and they have many vegan friendly items on their menu (which is rare for Staten Island). Such a lovely coffee shop! The environment is very inviting. When you walk in you see a theme of flowers- on the tables, painted on the walls, and designed on the chair cushions. You hear light music playing from the speakers at an appropriate volume. And you smell fresh pastries & coffee!! The menu is flexible as they have a kitchen. Also, their pastries offer both Gluten Free & Vegan options. The barista who served me, I suspect coincidentally was the owner, is extremely friendly. Took the time to explain the pastries to me as well as engaged me in conversation when I asked about the neighborhood. Lastly, the espresso & coffee cake were both delicious! BONUS - they offer free WiFi. I travel to Staten Island for work a couple times a month, and I'm always on the hunt for a quiet place where I can take a breather before / after a work meeting, or perhaps take out my computer & get some work done. Bloom cafe is staffed by polite and courteous employees. One of which allowed us to taste their vegan chocolate donut free of charge. The space is clean and well curated which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Oat milk was available for my vegan girlfriend and I enjoyed a delicious iced latte and stuffed french toast! Inside the cafe is cozy, the staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. They make an array of gluten free & vegan food options... from breakfasts to lunch, dinner & pastries. I'm so happy that third-wave coffee shops are now a thing on Staten Island, and this is the latest addition to a fantastic bunch of cafes that go the extra mile in terms of offering quality and variety. I appreciate that they use coffee from a quality source (Think Coffee), know what's size a macchiato is supposed to be and that they pull shots on a top of the line Synesso machine. They take coffee seriously. The macchiato I ordered was excellent, but the real star of the show for me was the truffle egg toast. Just the right size that left me satisfied without feeling like a cafoné afterwards, fantastic essence of truffle without being overpowering, and a delightful runny egg in the middle of some of the fluffiest white bread around. A very unique menu item on SI. Everyone there was friendly and warm, and the space was really well decorated. I'm looking forward to going back! read more
