I absolutely love coming here. I come about 1-2 times a week before work or while walking my dog. By now the staff knows me and my order (I am a creature of habit) and always confirm what I'd like. Sometimes I even get suggestions on how to change it up a bit and it always comes out delicious. Everyone there is very friendly and I've never had an issue or something done incorrectly or tasting bad. All of their pastries look delicious so it is hard to express self control! A cute pastry and coffee shop, that opened on the Valentine's Day 2021 no less! New guys on the block and oh, do they rock. It's small, cozy and clean. We got a carrot cake slice, which was like a piece of heaven on a plate, a Nocciola cake bar and a berry crumble, both delicious. The aroma of coffee hits you as soon as you open the door, didn't get a chance to try it this time, but I am planning to get a good look at their beverage menu next time I go there for a slice of carrot cake. I walk to work, and Bella Beans is on the way! The atmosphere is so welcoming due to the friendly staff. I love the place and look forward to a day when I can visit and sit down to enjoy my coffee. They leave you feeling as if you are eating in your own kitchen! But recently, I've been a bit disappointed as the quality of the food isn't as good as it used to be. Lately, I find the food to be on the stale side. When I come into a cafe, I want fresh food, not something that is dry because it has been sitting in the display case for a few days. And when I come into a cafe, I don't want to see food wrapped in plastic; that is just one step above a coffee cart outside a building in NYC. Personally, I'd like to see more breakfast related food. Cup cakes with 6 inches of icing on top are not something I want to have with my morning coffee. If the food was always fresh, I would have given 5 stars. If I didn't have family and my own coffee waiting at home, I would have stayed and enjoyed the cool cloudy summer morning in this peaceful urban cafe. I had a good interaction with both employees and the chocolate croissant tasted as it should. Since Yelp is usually where foodies get up on their soap boxes, I would recommend this pastry shoppe. It theoretically has a good location for those of you who are not Staten Island-averse.
