Even better than the broad inventory of bakery cookies, cakes, brownies and pastries in the glass display cases around the large shop, are the unique amusing works of three dimensional art hanging from wall and ceiling. On walking in we immediately confronted a supersized water spigot pouring large amounts of water into a similarly sized catch basin below it. Took my mind off the sweets and reminded to wash hands. In the second room, suspended from the ceiling and walls were I-beams used to construct the classic NYC skyline with early-mid 20th Century steelworkers sitting high above the pavement with fixed stares on a large poster of Marilyn Monroe in all her sexy glory. This Cookie Jar was also an entertaining art gallery. What about the cookies in the jar? We tried a variety of carrot cake, brownies/blondies, lemon filled Italian cookies, iced cheesecake squares, red velvet cupcake, and chocolate bars, and others. While all good to delicious, none were as satisfying as the artwork in the house, which we sat and enjoyed at one of their small tables as we nibbled and drank coffee. The best cookie shop on Staten Island The adult chocolate chip cookies is my favorite. Also a great place for a light lunch.

Love the desserts from here. All of their locations are good ! However, I ordered a whole bunch of stuff for my dil's baby shower and they goofed it up. I pre ordered, thank God , but they still sold half of one cookie that I ordered. They actually "asked" me to drive across the island to pick the rest of my order on the same day as the St Pat's day parade. It all worked out. The most disappointing part was the 7 layers were stale! All that and then they sold me stale 7 layers. Lol. I'll be back cause the cookies are great. They should just have older more experienced managers ! read more

These cookies are pretty good. I tried a few different ones and they were good. There were a few that were a bit hard and crumbled not in a good way. The red velvet cupcake was delicious and perfectly moist. The cream cheese frosting was good too. The cannoli filling was creamy and good. Staff are attentive and quick to serve. Overall a nice spot. I bought a small variety of cookies here so I'll give 3 stars for now. I just want to tell everyone to buy and eat the Pistachio Cookies. Both the white iced and chocolate iced are good, it's more about what's underneath the icing. The cookie is like a light-shortbread cookie. And the pistachios inside are raw, whole pistachios that have such a real, nutty taste. read more

Amazing gem in Staten Island! This is an awesome place to come after dinner for some yummy dessert. I have been here 2 times and have tried different cookies both times- everything has been fantastic! I think my favorites have been the linzer cookies, the lemon drop cookie, and the raspberry coconut cookie. Their lattes are great as well. Around $13 for a pound of cookies. Definitely worth trying. I'm always looking for places that have apricot linzers! Most places have raspberry and don't often offer apricot. So happy that they do! Will be back for their other cookies with apricot jam. Their chocolate chip cookie is chewy and not overwhelmingly sweet, really enjoyed this. Their chocolate hazelnut cookie was very interesting. It was a super light, airy, and crispy. Reminds me of meringue or a crunchier macaron. Lots of whole hazelnuts in the middle. The peanut butter and jelly cookie was on the drier side. Very crunchy and very crumbly. I'm glad I tried the cookie jar, they offer a variety of different cookies. I'll definitely be back to try more if I am ever in the area. read more

I had lunch down the street but saved room to try a sampling of cookies from here. I had not been to this location before only the one on Forest. Parking on New Dorp lane is what it is, so I had someone sit in the car while I ran in. I'd been dying try this place out ever since coming out of Hot Yoga and seeing the sign in the window "cannoli filled cookies". I know counter productive. The counter girls were very patient with me and had big smiles. I always appreciate that as I'm very very very indecisive. Annoying habit, I know. I chose a sample of what looked best. -Cannoli filled cookie. Vanilla cookie with a dome of chocolate filled with cannoli cream. This was not special to me, I would have preferred a regular ole cannoli. -Lemon butter cookie w/ granulated sugar crystals on top. Simple and tasty. - Lotta Lemon Cookie. Vanilla cookie, white chocolate dome filled with lemon jelly. The lemon jelly is tasty but I preferred the simple mess of the prior one. -chocolate with hazelnuts. This was my fav. Crunchy airy nice cocoa flavor. -Almond Biscotti. Very very hard to bite but tasted good. -macadamia coconut bar. Not messy, little sticky, tasty and sweet -Nutella with everything. Good Nutella flavor and crunchy texture but to manny marshmallows for me. -chocolate but Biscotti, very good with tea. -the Maria. Thumbprint jelly cookie with nuts. -peanut butter and jelly cookie. So peanuty I loved it. -the lacy circle cookie. I don't know the official name but I'd run back for this. Just awesome. Cool sweet shop in New Dorp. Great small cookies that are sold by the pound at reasonable prices, quick service, and generally friendly staff. All of this is done in a neat store, complete with actual cookie jars and other memorabilia. Open decent hours as well. My only complaint (and it's usually a minor issue) is that there are seemingly random items that some staff will make you purchase from their sister store, which is literally the same building. This means buying your treats in two transactions. read more

I'm so happy to see this new location nearby. I've heard so many great things about this cookie shop, I had to try it. I stopped into their new location on New Year's Eve to get some cookies. I ended up getting about a pound which came out to roughly 20 cookies. A pound was about $11.00, which is pretty reasonable. The cookies were delicious, I especially enjoyed the Italian wedding cookies and the chocolate pretzels...yum!!! Piece of Cake (their other store) is right next door too. Joan I needed French Macaroon cookies for my daughters bridal shower. I needed them in a certain color & size but not sure where to go or how to order.
