Where do I begin with a place like this?! This is an old school American style bakery that sells just about everything you'd expect from bakeries in the area. Researching before I went I saw that both their apple and cherry rings seem to be very popular here and they looked huge and delicious. Instead I went with their chocolate covered brownies which I've had before at an event and remembered this place since. Chocolate covered brownies are next level. The two work very well together. I also went with their apple cheesecake square. It's everything you'd expect. Sweet apple pie filling with cinnamon over a cheesecake square. This is what I'm coming for next! Ordered Brooklyn Blackout Cake for a birthday and it was great. Moist and pudding inside was delightful. Cake was easy to order but had to order a few days in advance which i wish I knew, because i needed it on the day I walked in. So I walked into this establishment wanting to love it, unfortunately was not my experience. It was completely empty when I walked in except for the staff and I was not even greeted or acknowledged which for me is already a red flag. Good customer service is always key. There was several young ladies working however none of them seemed interested in helping me. I continued to browse and one of them finally came over and asked if they can help me she actually seemed annoyed I guess because she was talking to two other girls who I later realized they were not employees they were just there to hang out I guess . I ordered a horse shoe and some pastries. I turned around for a minute to look at something else and when I turned back around my box was just left on the counter and that person just disappeared now I'm just standing there and again no one is acknowledging me because again they are talking to each other. I waited a few minutes then I just said excuse me I'd like to pay for my pastries one of them walked over gave me the total I handed her the cash she handed me my change and I just walked out. The horse shoe and pastries were actually very good everyone at work enjoyed them. However you need to do better with your employees!! Will I come back I probably will not. read more

Excellent. Had their Raspberry pie with custard base for Easter desert with family. It was fantastic. I know the Carozza's who own the bakery and they also own Piece o Cake on New dorp lane. Both place are excellent. I own Superior chocolates on Staten Island. We have been here since 1911. I don't give compliments easily but they deserve credit for their time, effort and care they put into their business. Reasonable prices too. read more

Staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. When I came in, I wasn't greeted or even acknowledged. When I asked about the 2 lb cookies gift wrapped, the girl had an attitude and said that I would have to order 2 days in advance. Ridiculously awesome rings and shoes! The coconut custard and apple rings are the best items on the menu. Both versions are stuffed and the fillings are delicious. It does straddle the line on being just a little too sweet I'm told but for my taste, I don't mind my sweets being too sweet and think it is perfect. I would definitely find myself dropping by for these anytime especially the apple. One of these would definitely feed 10 or more people. The Red Velvet is pretty good as well but not exactly my favorite. I do prefer a moist cake but in this case, perhaps it is just a little too moist and crumbles a little too much in my opinion. I'm no expert baker but maybe there is a little too much shortening or oil in the cake base. A little less might lead to a cake with a little more structure and body in my opinion would be ideal. Regardless of your preferences, the prices can't be beat in this day in age. For what you pay, the value is the best for any bakery in the city for sure. read more

We ordered every horseshoe and ring danishes (all flavors) from them, they do not disappoint! I would order a ring or horseshoe to a friend's house and they love it! My mother loves their strawberry shortcake. For my dog's 3rd birthday, we got her a strawberry shortcake and she absolutely loves it. Dairy Queen she is. Everything they make is FRESH! Very disappointed and it was my fault not checking the cake before the lady put it in the box. I called a week before needing a cake asking if they could assist in making a custom cake for me. After talking on the phone and sending in my inspiration pictures through email I was set. I was able to drop off the deposit for the cake a few days after. On the day of picking up my cake there was one small error with the writing that was easily fixable and fixed within a few minutes while I waited on premises. I don't blame them, I had a few different requests and it could be easily misunderstood. Overall the cake was beautiful. It turned out exactly how I wanted and pictured, we even gave the cake its own photoshoot! It was also a lot taller than I expected! I didnt know it would be a double decker and that was a very pleasant surprise. The cake tasted good; we got chocolate cake with chocolate filling and strawberries. It was nothing too memorable or flavorful but overall a good dessert. Next time I might inquire more about flavors and fillings to decide what I prefer. Only downside is that they are cash only, but not worth lowering their score for... I'm really happy with the experience. Also worth a mention their cookie with 3 jams reminds me of a cookie I adored as a child and it was the first time I tasted something similar to it in 20 years, It was amazing. One of the best bakeries on Staten Island if not the best!!! I love so many of their bakery items. Their horseshoe rings are amazing - I have gotten both the apple and the cheese. My favorite is still the cheese. My dad absolutely loves their cheesecakes because it is not too sweet and perfectly light, not too heavy. My family loves to get birthday cakes from here because you can get a decent size cake for $20. Their prices are so affordable and reasonable. You seriously cannot go wrong here. Recently, I got a big birthday cake here for $45. You cannot find these prices compared to the city. Their quality is top notch. The cakes are always moist and made fresh, with fresh fruits as well. This place is INSANELY affordable!! I ordered 5 cookies, a cupcake, a cannoli, a cheesecake and the giant apple tart for only $34.... Cookies - they price them by the pound so they're super affordable. I loveeeedd the braided cookie. It's probably one of the best I've ever had. The sprinkle cookie is filled in the middle with some sort of chocolate filling, not too sweet! I believe the white powdery cookies are Italian wedding cookies, I love the Greek version but these seemed a bit nutty for my taste! Still pretty good Red Velvet Cupcake - right off the bat, it looked super moist but the color threw me off, it's really bright red so you know there's a lot of food coloring but hey, that's what red velvet is!! I broke it apart and ate it like a sandwich with the cream cheese frosting in the middle. It had the perfect amount of frosting and it was extremely cream cheese-y which contrasted nicely with the cake. 5/5!! The Apple Tart - My family LOVEs this!! But I always skip it because it's not sweet enough haha it's definitely a less guilt tart!! I just think if I'm going to waste calorie eating it, it should at least taste good or to my liking!! Visited this establishment on numerous occasions and purchased several specialty cakes and pastry items. Their baked goods are always fresh and delicious. The bakery is usually busy with customers, but the staff is friendly & fast. However, they could benefit from some system of organization with taking orders and checking people out. They have customers walking around aimlessly not sure if there's a line or service by number or by order. I was particularly annoyed on day I came in to pick up a cake that was previously ordered and paid for a birthday celebration and military welcome home. There were several people in the store asking how customers were being served and some started forming a line by the door. I had a paid receipt and several people had rushed past me to get through the door. I went to the counter with my paid receipt to ask if I had to stand on line or could I just collect the cake. Another customer rushed in front of me to start a confrontation of who had entered the door first. Meanwhile, several other customers just entering the store were already being served. The staff did not want to get involved and did not really help in this situation. Maybe if there was an actual line or organized system for serving customers then this would not be an issue. If such a system does exist then staff should make customers aware of it. Service issues do affect customer satisfaction and should always be considered as a top priority. read more
