This is our absolute favorite bakery and our go-to for all of our events. We work with both kids and adults with disabilities, and everyone loves their desserts. One of the biggest reasons we trust this bakery is that all of their products are nut-free, so we never have to worry when serving our community. The service is always amazing; warm, caring, and consistent. You can truly feel that this is a family-owned business, which is so important and rare these days. Moretti's was a bi-weekly stop for me when I lived in the neighborhood. The cookies, cakes, breads, crumb cakes, donuts are great here. Our favorites are the crumb cake, prosciutto bread, olive Italian bread, semolina bread crumb cake and the great selection of dream cakes. The menu for that has expanded since I left. I forgot to mention that the black n whites are my sons favorite. Good memories of walking the neighborhood with him in a stroller, stopping in to pickup bread and a b&w. I stopped in last Sunday morning to pickup some treats for our hosts who lived right down the street. The place hasn't changed at all (with the exception of offering more dream cake varieties). I've been going to Moretti for many years. Their baked goods are very good. But I recently had a very bad experience. I picked out a 9" round layer cake which the young lady behind the counter boxed and tied. She handed me the box and said $42.00 please. (With kind of a weird attitude). I said excuse me? $42.00?? I was too embarassed to say I didn't want it because of all the customers around. I'm going to go back and ask the manager if the young lady charged me the correct price. There is NO WAY that they sell those cakes for $42.00!! read more

We had so many issues trying to order a rehearsal and wedding cake through this bakery and would not recommend them to anyone who needs assurance that anything is going to be done for an important event. I initially let them know I wanted to book with them for my wedding festivities and the owner graciously offered a tasting of 6 of their flavors and to text her my number. I did so and did not get a response for weeks. I called the bakery directly to confirm our cake date was set and ask about the status of the samples, in a completely normal tone, and I was told by someone to "stop worrying so much and to calm down and that my wedding day was going to be beautiful and amazing" and that they don't do cake tastings. I found this cringey and unprofessional. I'm just looking for information and not getting any. The owner eventually provided cake tasting samples which I admit, were absolutely delicious. We decided to still going ahead with them, and my fiance texted a few times asking about a custom cake for our theme. Again weeks with no response and multiple follow ups. Then we get a text one day before our rehearsal dinner asking if we want to go ahead or cancel?! How can we cancel with someone who doesn't respond to any messages? Our wedding coordinator tried to reach out to them to confirm our wedding cake order and got no response to any calls or texts for 3 weeks... 3 weeks! A week before our wedding, we threw our hands up, walked into Annadale Bakery and booked our wedding and rehearsal dinner cake with them and got a confirmation of everything the same day and our coordinator was able to get in touch with them as well. Thank God they had openings. This bakery needs to get an ORDERING SYSTEM or something to provide customers with clarity or at least a confirmation. People that are planning a wedding should not be reaching out 5, 6, 7 times and getting no response, and then being told that they need to calm down when they just want to confirm there is going to be a cake at one of the most important events of their lives. I would never recommend them for important events because of the position they put me in before my wedding and for their terrible communication. read more

Not a fan . I bought a strawberry shortcake , The woman who waited on me seemed kind of annoyed that she had to do anything . I than asked if it had real whipped cream on it and I was assured it did. When I served it to my guests later that day we all agreed that the "whipped cream" tasted bitter and not like whipped cream at all. I can't believe that I paid around $50 for that cake which is expensive for a normal sized cake and no one finished their piece . I was disappointed. read more

We told them we were picking it up the day of her birthday ( July 1st) in the morning at 10am where we was told it would be ready. So the morning of my daughters birthday comes ( July 1st). We called to let them know we will be sending our sister in law to get the cake and the LADY SAYS today is not July 1st. She said it's June 30. My Fiancé FLIPPED. She was so upset and now very nervous and anxious and panicking because how unprofessional is that? You forget an order that's was placed for a Baby and was pre order weeks in advance? The lady said don't worry they are doing it now. When my sister in law got there, the cake was rushed and looked NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE WE WANTED and we were so upset that we spent $280 dollars for the cake that was Designed how THEY WANTED IT! THE FACT IS THE FACTS! They have forgotten our order and rushed it in the morning realizing they messed up!! Horrible start of our day. So unprofessional and ruined it. When we got the cake the crown was hanging and the layers were bending and the butter fly fell off. It was a disaster. My fiancé had to call and argue with them and the lady response was "IF YOU DONT LIKE IT ILL GIVE IT TO MY KIDS" Are you f****ng kidding me? That's your response? That's all I'm say there. The best buttercream I've ever eaten! The bakery has has all of your standard Italian bread, cookies, pastries etc. I was there just before Easter and they also had cookies and candy perfect for an Easter basket. They make beautiful custom cakes but they are known for their dream cakes. I got the funfetti with added buttercream. It was a small upcharge but you won't regret it. The owner works very hard to make you happy, You can take them a picture of any cake and they will make it and they offer delivery service. I ordered a cake, late, from Moretti's Bakery for my daughter's party. They were very accommodating and assured me that the cake would be ready by the day of the party. They took the order, they even helped me with the design and picking out the type of filling. They called me back before making the cake to double check on the details. The woman that I spoke to was very friendly, by the time I got off the phone I felt like we knew each other for years. The cake was beautiful. The cake was delicious. It was a big success! Ever since then I myself and all of my friends and family have used Moretti's for event cakes, holiday cakes and anytime bakery cravings. I used to frequent Renato's further up on Forest Ave, I happened to stop by Moretti's on a humble and have not been to another bakery since. The dream cakes make an appearance in our house at least once a week and last for no more than 2 days. Cinzia is always a doll as are the other ladies here. I have only had one negative experience here that Cinzia assured me would never happen again with one of her employees, but I wont dwell on the one experience over the many good ones.
