The flavor of the oil and dough come through in their American styled doughnuts. The semi thick icing adds another layer of well thought out flavor without adding too much sugar shock. My favorite is the plain donut with a hole middle and chocolate icing. The pastries such as the danish are only worth three stars since I prefer the French standard. It's too hard and the flavorful fruit is sweeter than I prefer. The 4 stars are for the simple doughnuts with a hole in the middle. The custom ones are too dry or perhaps old. We ordered the cookie monster rainbow slice, a rainbow cupcake/ muffin, and 7 layer donut. My husband and I took a bite of each of these and immediately into the trash they went. The donut is not pictured because once we peeled the wrapper off, it looked like disgusting slop. That was the third item we tried of the three we purchased and I was just angry. My dreams of sweets became a nightmare. We saw the Cookie Monster Rainbow Slice on IG a few months ago. While on Staten Island we decided to stop in and try a few things. The brownie on the top of the cake was extremely low quality. Did they just get cosmic brownie and stick it on top? Honestly, that would have been much better if they had actually done that. The cake was moist, but had a very odd flavor - it tasted like almond extract or almond paste. I don't understand how that belongs in this cake, but I guess someone thought it was good. We usually get our seven layer donuts from Alfonso's and we will continue doing so. This was a serious miss. We were disappointed because everything looks so good on their social media/ website. We were leary to purchase pastry because of some of the reviews. But we gave it a try and we're so glad we did. The tri colored cupcakes, donuts and triangle were delicious and fresh and perfect. The fruit tart was delicious. We had the chocolate mouse and it wasn't excessively sweet just right. Strawberry shortcake was great. Nothing was fresh. Last August (I never posted a review about it) I ordered a dozen donuts in different flavors for a bday. Some were the wrong flavors, none of them seemed fresh. Today, my husband saw an IG video comparing their 7 layer donut to another bakeries and they said this one was better, he had a craving so I stopped in to get two 7 layer donuts, a chocolate frosted donut and grabbed a cheese crumb danish. Again, nothing was fresh. I'm not sure if the donuts aren't fresh bc they are out in open on a shelf all day uncovered which seems like a really dumb way to store them or if bc they aren't baked fresh but either way I'm over them. One of the BEST bakeries in Tottenville. It's my favorite. Everything is always delicious and the service is so friendly. They're always helpful and accommodating to my requests. Most recently I placed an order for a gluten free cake and it was phenomenal. One of my absolute favorites from there is their apple crumb cake. It's worth every calorie. I really love the food but the service is rough when you order food you have to double check your order because they always forget something (legit 4 times in a row got home and had to go back) and then if you order via 3rd party app they don't check it even when it says confirmed you walk in and they scramble and tell you 5 mins and it is another 15-20( multiple times) though it was bad days but happens so frequently it needs to be addressed. Belli Baci supposedly is a part of the establishments that sell surprise bags on the Too good to go app. Well, surprise, surprise when I showed up to pick up my purchase-at the alloted time and after paying in advance- and the store was locked! My husband knocked on the door, someone appeared inside, said "I don't have the Key, wait ", and then disappeared. After waiting outside for 10 minutes, I left. The sign on the door ( and their website) states they are open until 6. I arrived at 4:50. Why participate with this app, and make a commitment to sell something they have no intention to honor?! Why didn't the man inside the store have the decency to come back to the door and give some kind of explanation? I wasted my time and money today and am very disillusioned about Belli Baci. Review is mainly for the desserts. While there was definitely more than what my photo provides, dessert wise and actual food, I'm not so sure I would return since I really wasn't that impressed. The bakery seems to be a local favorite but I was pretty let down. The Oreo was pretty bad... if my kids said it tasted weird, and what kid generally doesn't like Oreos, then it's further confirmation - the cream just tasted sour. The Cookie Monster was just a recolor and variation of jelly used for the typical rainbow cookies so it wasn't too bad. The cookie butter brownie was the best. The Boston cream for the price is hands down the best place to go for donuts instead of the popular chains for the same price - it's almost twice and big and twice the amount of cream. Don't get me wrong but the pastries are good here and there's no doubt about that but there's some issues. I came in on a Sunday when bakeries should be on their A game and what did I see? Multiple fat fly's around and landing on food out in the open. Lots of bare hands on employees. Food counters look visibly dirty. Some of their pastries looked like they were passed their shelf life. I drove here last week and thought it was out of business then 2 days later voila Grand Reopening. The baked goods all looked amazing and not generic like so many Italian bakeries, this was the real deal. We mostly came for lunch since that's what they were renovating for. It was hard to choose but settled on -the Roast beast sandwich. House made beef, gravy, onions and mozz w/fries on the side. This was hot, fresh messy and big. The 2 of us shared it and they cut it in half for us. It was so large I still took some home. I also wanted to try an app -the Philly cheesesteak empanada-crunchy yummyness. The service was not ideal, it seemed like they were mostly paying attention to regular customers. It was only the 2nd day they were open so I'm sure they will be on point next time. just found out about this bakery/cafe and i couldn't be happier! i'm forever remembering it as some of the best breakfast i've had on staten island, for many reasons. i ordered the belli baci breakfast, which for $6 comes w eggs, THE BEST crispy homefries you might ever eat, fresh-made toast, and coffee. first of all, the value for the price is incredible. secondly, even though the dish was simple, it was made very well. i always order my eggs over-medium and it's rare that a place gets them just right. belli baci got them just right. the toast was from one of their loaves, so it was perfectly crispy and fluffy. the potatoes were definitely crispy and packed w flavor--do eat them w the onions they sprinkle on top. you won't regret it. i can eat the potato skins by themselves. i added ketchup to them but i easily could've had them without. their cook knows what they're doing. also, my photo doesn't do this dish justice! my boyfriend and his mother got the papas eggwich ($7), which also comes w the homefries, and they were equally happy and pleased. lastly, we bought about 8 pastries for new year's eve we will be trying later tonight. i can't comment on them yet, but i can say that the service was excellent. the ladies working at the front were busy, working hard with grace and kindness. even though they had their hands full, they still made sure everyone and everything was taken care of. i'd love to come back here to try the rest of their menu. thank you for brightening up my morning! read more

My sister called 3 days ago to order a variety of CRONUT flavors for my husband's birthday party. Each Cronut cost $3.50 each. Not only didn't she get Cronuts when she picked up but she was told that they don't make the cronut flavors ordered.
