Spanish Latte
Peter C.

Great coffee, greater baristas - my mornings run on both. If you're looking for a cool spot that's more than just a place to grab caffeine, this is it. Sure, the coffee is top-notch, brewed with the kind of care that makes you want to savor every sip, and the limited food I've tried was fresh & delicious, but the real magic is behind the counter. The baristas here don't just serve coffee; they serve sunshine in a cup. Visits feels like catching up with friends who also happen to make phenomenal lattes. Even when the is a cafe packed with the local firemen, they're quick to greet you with a smile and once in a while a perfectly timed Spanish Latte before I've even ordered is just the bit of encouragement that somehow makes even a rainy Monday feel like a good day, leaving you feeling a little lighter, a little happier, and a lot more caffeinated.

Vegan croissant and americano
Roxanne O.

The people working there seem genuinely friendly. The cafe is cutely decorated in the front, with flowers painted on the walls, and even the garbage can. I ordered an americano and a vegan croissant to have there. The americano was perfect, little acidity and not scalding hot. The vegan croissant was not the best vegan croissant I had. Almost like a roll. But I know it's hard to find a good vegan croissant. I wish they didn't use single use cups and plates for people who are staying to eat but I guess it makes it easier for clean up. But even so, I wish they were at least compostable. They don't have their parking lot, though Google states they had parking.

Avocado toast
Shaji K.

After being turned away by a nearby diner that wasn't seating anyone inside, switched over to this bustling cafe on a Saturday morning. Most of the patrons were taking items to go, so took advantage of the various seating options and got a table at the back. Between two people, split the Avocado Toast ($9.50), Berry Muffin ($4ish), Frittata ($6ish), and a couple of Lattés ($4.50 each). The avocado toast is served on thick-sliced whole grain bread; topped by radish, onions, tomatoes, feta, and oils. Good balance between the bread and the ingredients on top, while nothing tasted stale. Muffin is equally fresh, soft and crumble inside with a crisp exterior. Frittata is a bit of overkill, good with a side of hot sauce. Food is about four stars, but the service takes it up a notch. Really friendly staff as well as a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended stop for a quick breakfast in the area.

The pastries are consistently a highlight - always incredibly fresh, perfectly made, and so delicious. Beyond the amazing food, the employees are wonderfully friendly and do an excellent job keeping the entire place spotlessly clean. I adore the atmosphere here; it's so cozy and cute, making it the perfect spot whether I want to surf the web, catch up with a friend, dive into a book, or just enjoy a coffee. Speaking of enjoying things, their menu is fantastic! I recently had the waffles with strawberries, chocolate syrup, and tons of whipped cream - the portion was huge and every bite was absolutely mouthwatering. Bean & Leaves is a true gem! Please stop by if you're in the area, you can thank me later. *wink, wink* Oh, and Free Wifi is always a plus!

The morning of our event there was snow on the ground, and Danielle, one of the owners, personally called early to confirm everything was still on. She shoveled herself out and drove in from New Jersey to make sure the coffee bar was set up and ready. That level of dedication and professionalism truly stood out. The coffee bar itself was a huge hit. They offered espresso drinks, cappuccinos, flavored lattes, oat milk options, and iced selections -- all made fresh to order. The quality was excellent and truly café-level, not just standard event coffee. The iced lattes were especially popular with our guests. The setup was polished and professional, the baristas were friendly and efficient, and it added such a fun, elevated touch to the brunch. If you're planning a wedding event, shower, or special celebration, I highly recommend Beans & Leaves. Exceptional service, delicious coffee, and a team that genuinely cares about your event.

They also sometimes have sangria and daily specials available. In the back they have created an awesome seating area with tables, chairs, umbrella's and a mini bar. I'm not sure what they serve out of the mini bar or when but I think they do private events sometimes. Don't sleep on this spot! Northside is a keeper!

I was asked 3x if I wanted flavored syrup. I politely said no. Not something I've never been asked before when ordering a cappuccino. The empanadas had this giant red name stamps on them. I wanted to order one but was not sure about the big red labeling. Turned me off to them. I ordered a ham/cheese croissant to go with the coffee. The croissant was super sweet and was a bold contrast to the ham/cheese combination. I really did not expect that. The staff wasn't rude but they weren't friendly either lol they were kinda just there. The space is super super tiny. It was myself an one other person but if she were to have stood up or someone came in we'd be on top of each other I was a bit confused on where to find the menu at first. They had a chalkboard with items on it for basic stuff . The cost was decent . Overall spent $8 The food and coffee was ok to me. Can't say I was impressed This cafe wasn't really for me and nothing stood out about it . Maybe others will have a different experience than I had but I will not be returning .

Boca Del Cielo - Bay Ridge Brunch Gem…read more I stopped by Boca de Cielo in the Bay Ridge area for brunch with the kids, and it turned out to be such a cozy and welcoming spot. You order your food at the front counter, and while we waited, the owner surprised us with a complimentary almond croissant since it was our first visit. It was absolutely delicious -- flaky, fresh, and easily one of the best almond croissants I've ever had. The menu has a great variety of options. We went with the steak and eggs and buttermilk street pancakes. The steak was tender and full of flavor, the home fries were seasoned perfectly, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. We also tried the Tropical Bliss Juice, a refreshing blend of pineapple, mango, and orange that's freshly pressed to order. From the warm decor to the amazing food and friendly service, everything about this place was fantastic. I can't wait to come back and try more items on their menu!

Setting (5/5): the interior of this place is simple and chic with a focus on sheep. There is a good amount of seating and tables that can fit four comfortably. The little latte design on top was also a nice touch. And I think that summary of their coffee being rich and slightly sweet is reflective of their other drinks too (my friend got the Americano and agreed that it had a natural sweet taste too it). Also I will say their music choices are great and it's not too noisy here so you can have a nice chat or really dive deep into a book or email here.
