I really enjoyed the honeycomb with honey drizzles!!! Absolutely amazing!!! The male barista is super sweet and helpful! The female lady like mentioned in other Google reviews is just racist and rude. When I asked her what one of the bars were, she just made up "chocolate something," already annoyed at me. And then the male staff said it had something with dates in it. The female staff told the male to ring it up like I already wanted it... in which I said no thank you. And she rolled her eyes. I then ordered a matcha latte... in which she put in macchiato... then the male staff was like she said matcha... and then again she acted as if she didn't make any mistake...... This woman just made a 5 star cafe experience a 3 star.

I was eyeing their honeycomb for a hot second now. I was in the area so got the honeycomb to go. The honeycomb comes in two sizes: the large was around $9 something and the small was $5 something. The big one is the better value and honestly, I had no issues finishing it all myself. The lady assisting me was very nice and friendly, I felt very welcomed! Too bad I was in a rush, otherwise I would've loved to get a drink and dined in the cafe. The cafe was very cozy and I noticed they had a sign up for 3 hour maximum seating and a drink purchase is required. The honeycomb was already prepared and wrapped in plastic wrap. She packed it up for me to go. I'm not sure if I had dined in, she would've warmed them up for me but that would be really nice. They tasted great on their own - a little lukewarm but even better when I went home and heated it up in the oven. The honey that it came with was so delicious. The filling is cream cheese but I saw they also had one filled with Nutella. I might come again to try their Nutella flavor. Overall: cozy cafe with a delicious honeycomb pastry

    Adeni tea was delicious!

My friend and I got to Bay Ridge a bit early for a nearby dinner outing. I saw Asal Yemen on Yelp and knew it would be a good way to start the night. The cafe is clean, bright, modern and nicely decorated. There were comfortable seats available. The woman working the counter was friendly and professional and highly recommended their Adeni tea. The Adeni tea is a popular drink in Yemen and I can see why. It featured cardamom and cinnamon in addition to other spices and had richness and smoothness from condensed milk. Asal Yemen was a very relaxing place to have a delicious hot cup of tea.

I loved this place at first but for some reason they do not make anything not super sweat. I enjoy the vibes and the inside designs from the beautiful culture of Yemen but customer service can be improved. Very unique spot in Brooklyn.

I heard their honeycomb bread is amazing so I went especially for it. It was the only item I purchased. It's a little under $9 and it's worth it! It's a pull apart bread and inside each bite size piece is cream cheese. Also, it's topped with seasame and poppy seeds. It comes with quality honey that I dipped each piece into. The outside was golden and crunchy from the toppings. The inside was flaky (you see the layers when you pull) and fluffy.

We dropped by Asal for breakfast earlier this fall, hoping to try their honeycomb bread. Unfortunately, they hadn't made them yet by the time we were there (around 9:15), and it was going to take 20-30 minutes to bake, so we had to settle for something else. The bagel sandwich with cream cheese, tomato, and lox was fine, but we were hoping to try something different from what you could find at any bagel shop. I got a hibiscus juice on the side (can't drink coffee), which was refreshing, and it was nice sitting and enjoying breakfast in the shop, since I loved the decor. I really appreciated how much effort they put into making their space welcoming and beautiful, not just indoors, but even their outdoor dining area. Hopefully next time we'll be able to try that honeycomb bread!

Four words: honey in your coffee. This place is very unique, it is one part coffee shop, one part cultural exhibit, one part lounge. The decor and seating is stylish and calming, and if it wasn't for covid I would spend several hours here writing poetry. Or something artsy. The coffee is nice; a lighter roast that is somewhat hidden with milk and honey. Would like to try their espresso and other drinks before I make a final call. The desserts (mostly flaky phyllo dough pastries and rich cakes) looked amazing too, worth coming for another visit. The Yemeni cakes weren't ready when I visited at 10 am, so hopefully they speed prep up a bit. All in all, this part of bay ridge needed a boost in their coffee shops and this could fit the Bill. Hope it sticks around!

Such a cute cafe tucked away in bayridge between restaurants and shops. It has a great seating area to study or read while you enjoy your coffee.

Came here with my husband for brunch. The place is very clean and gives a sense of home. We ordered up front and they brought the food out to our table. The food is delicious and the coffee is one of the best I had.

A fairly new coffee and tea spot on 5th Ave. We bought a pound of beans as well as the honey. They have one of a kind lattes and such. A cup goes for 5-7$ But for me, this is a one and done type of place. I don't find the coffee beans ($45) to be extremely different from the "specialty coffee beans" (15$) that I can get at the grocery store. So at 45$ a pound for these Yemen coffee beans, I don't think I'd do it again. They sell honey which they say is also from Yemen at $80 for the small bottle. We bought 2 to try it out. I do like the honey as it does have a clean and pure taste but at 80$ I just can't afford to make this a habit.

I discovered it by chance and fell in love with the place. The coffee is exceptional. Comes from Yemen. Flavorful, has body and is strong but light and not acid or over roasted. Just perfect. The service is outstanding and very friendky. It is not a big place but it has tables and also a sofa set up. Tables on the street too. The croissants are incredible. I had the chocolate one. Actually one and a half. It is a great place to relax with a good cup of coffee or to get some work done on your laptop. You can buy coffee beans too.

    Iced Cardamom Coffee with honey
    Yasmine E.

Got iced Cardamom coffee, it was soo good. Best iced coffee I had. It was a bit on pricey side, thats why I gave it 4 stars. But definitely worth the price. Would recommend getting coffee with honey. If you don't like it too sweet, then let them know to lessen the honey. Everything is authentic, and honey is straight from Yemen. Def try this place out.

I asked if there was any way to fix this, and right away, the hostess brought us to another table with a much better view of that magnificent manhattan skyline and river. Then the food. Omg the food. We each ordered our main, after which they bring out an enormous tray of all these lovely nibble salads, pickles, dips, and pita. I don't eat wheat, and haven't my entire life, so I usually don't say anything about it if it seems to me the place doesn't cater to that sort of restriction. The server noticed however, and offered sliced cucumbers for the dips. Such a lovely detail, brava. Did I mention how deeeeeeeelicious everything was? Hubby had the steak shishlika which was perfectly tender and charred at once. I had the chicken shishlika which was good, but not the wow of the steak. Each and every salad, dip, pickle etc was perfectly spiced, cooked, presented. The nuances were just right. Nothing too precious or sideways. Just honest, well built yummy food. And the fries. You MUST get the fries. We ordered the tahini ranch along with the tahini catsup. In my opinion, that wasn't necessary. But if you're a ranch lover, go for it. Then the dessert! Soft serve with a cherry reduction and some kind of flourless chocolate brownie... I don't need to say more. The service was excellent. The food delicious.
