I'm lovin' the beachy vibes here at Brooklyn Crab, especially if you make it here for their happy hour deals. The space is pretty big with two floors and various seating options. It's great for large parties with chill vibes that really make you feel like you're at a beach. Happy hour is from 3-6pm on weekdays and we got lucky coming here during that time. The husband enjoyed a nice, cold beer for $6 while I got the Peel N Eat Shrimp for only $10 on the HH menu. While the shrimp are on the skinny side, they were a good deal and got me pretty full. Definitely added some extra Old Bay seasoning on the shrimps. In addition, we ordered the Mac and Cheese ($12) and BKC Burger ($21) with Bacon (+$2). The Mac and cheese here are so cheesy and delicious, definitely a favorite as well. Such a great spot to hang out and enjoy some drinks and seafood. Even for my husband who doesn't eat seafood had a few options luckily. The servers were also very friendly and great vibes all around.

Brooklyn Crab, i love ya. No complaints- take the ferry to this gem. You will feel like you're at a crab shack in another state! Reservations recommended. I got the ez peel shrimp, potatoes & corn .. as well as a watermelon marg & honey deuce. Everything was so good. Old bay etc at your disposal on your table - honestly what is there to complain about. If you love seafood - try this out! This place just gets it & honestly there aren't many of its kind!!

Okay so I came here on the first 80 degree day of the season for the afternoon so when I say it was BUSY it was BUSY!! Regardless of the volume the outside bar had quick service on the drinks while we waited to be called for a table. It took about 1.5 hours for our table to be ready. Once seated the staff came to take our orders quick as this was a no nonsense day for them with every table full. We decided to on the Cajun seafood boil for 2 which was split between 4 people -- definitely enough food. The CRAB was out of this world some of the best dungeness crab I ever tasted. Lobster on point. I definately went to crustacean heaven. The price is hefty tho at 195. We also got the ahi tuna nachos which was a nice app and the lobster Mac and cheese. Definately coming back.

So I don't really hang out in Red Hook like that but I decided to try something new and go for a little excursion. I should start seeing more of my city, right? So I was hanging out at a record shop and everybody was like "you need happy hour oysters! happy hour oysters! happy hour!" Well, I took my booty to Brooklyn Crab and I am so happy that I did because I am so much better for it! $1 Oysters! P.E.I. Mussels?? Thick and spicy and super flavorful shrimp?! $10 margaritas! All the food is amazing. Beyond the food...servers are impeccable. It was so in love with my experience I think I went 3 days in a row. Am I ashamed? Absolutely not. Would I do it again? Yes. Would I move to Red Hook just to be closer to Brooklyn Crab? I would give my apartment up in a heartbeat. You should get there as soon as you can and save me a seat and a shrimp! This place is #YuckbangCertified!!

Came here for a work outing and was seated on the second floor (had a shaded cover). We got a couple of appetizers to share, including the ahi tuna nachos, watermelon salad (delicious), caprese salad, popcorn shrimp and calamari. For my main, I got the crab cakes which were excellent! Not too fishy and the remoulade that came with it was very flavorful! Would recommend to come here with a group. Even with a large group (around 10 people) service was prompt and friendly. The only downside is there are no vegetarian options, but I'm sure you could ask to get something customized (like the salad appetizer)

The ceviche was so tasty and bright for a crazy hot 4th of July. Blue roll was packed with crab and such a great roll overall. The bar was filled but everyone was taken care of. We sat in the bar upstairs and once you sit and get acclimated it's not as hot. They are very on top of their reservations for walk in on weekends. For warmer weather I recommend getting there when they open if you want to chill. Love coming here and can't wait to come back!

Obsessed with Brooklyn Crab! They have unique cocktails, inventive appetizers, great food and a great vibe. The staff were very gracious with our large party and everyone loved their food and drink. I'm making any excuse to take the ferry over here!

On arguably the coldest day of the year a few weeks ago on Super Bowl Sunday, your girl made a trek only a few crazy people would. Tucked in the quiet end of Red Hook right by the water, is Brooklyn Crab - a lively, coastal shanty themed restaurant serving up some seafood favorites... but on a cold day in early February the abandoned and frozen tiki bar downstairs and the residue of snow salt on the staircase leading to the restaurant only served as a faint reminder of brighter, sunny days that await us this summer in New York. I plopped myself on the bar seating as cold gushes of air swept in with the opening door. The heating was struggling but so were we - it really was just that cold. However dire these conditions were, I was here for my weekly ritual - two dozen oysters on the half shell. Trish the bartender was a great sport. We chit chatted about the weather and her California upbringing and everything in between. She was great company and a delight to talk to. When the oyster platter arrived I was met with instant joy. Nicely sized oysters, neatly shucked, briny and beautiful with the accompaniments I like. A cold glass of beer I had been slowly working on in the background. They only have the $1 Sunday oyster happy hour during the winter months. Staff simply can't keep up with the shucking when it's busier. I deeply enjoyed this meal as the sun shined in the glass enclosure and it started to warm up. Far away I could see the waves crashing on the dock, as I guzzled down the ocean's perfect food. I also ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they were very good. Nicely seasoned, with ample amount of lemon wedges to make this meal truly one of a kind. This is one of the best oyster happy hours in Brooklyn, and even though I am traveling away from home right now, I can't wait to return and bask in this sunlit bar one last time this winter. Highly recommended!!

I have passed by Brooklyn Crab multiple times, and it is always super busy. Well, not so much in the winter! I am much more of a foodie person than vibes (though vibes are also important) but if you come at off peak and off season (i.e. middle of day in the winter), it is not so busy and you can take advantage of their great happy hour deals. We got a little of the happy hour oysters and some appetizers but also got a burger (not on happy hour list). The oysters were great - super fresh, not fishy. Really refreshing. The fries and the burger were also really good. And the shrimp was soo flavorful. I think if we were to come again, would skip the wings - they were ok, though the service was really nice and allowed us to try two flavors (gave us separate sauces) - maybe if we had done just one flavor and let them sauce them themselves it would have been better? Super close to IKEA and unbeatable sunset views. Will definitely come again if every around the area.

Food is below averaged, overpriced, and the capitalize on the summer season that's it. They rush you in rush you out. The hostess is a Young snot nose that was so fresh. I can't even comprehend. It went to get a lemon wedge, not with my hands with a straw for my breath and she yelled at me needless to say I yelled back you're a fresh young lady so is that how you treat your customers? trust me it'll be the last. Hope you starve over the winter.

The frozen marg was strong and yummy. Fish and chips was fresh with properly crispy breading but flavor-wise nothing to write home about. Wish the coleslaw was either creamier or had more flavor (or both). My company loved the crab! The waiters were very attentive with emptying her discard bowl multiple times. Amazing view of the Statue of Liberty from the top floor and overall a great place to hang out with friends on a sunny day.

This established has the best views over the water. So stunning! We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy and the service reflected that. We ordered the calamari for the app and it was honestly the best dish of the night. It was seasoned well and fried with precious. Flavor in every bite. Definitely a fave on the menu. I ordered the crab cakes for my entree and they were alright. I wasn't pleased with the size or taste. I think they came close the a great flavor, but didn't quite hit the mark. The salad was just eh. The guava spritz was a tasty drink. I thought it would be a little sweeter because of the guava, but it wasn't.

Great spot for a summer hang with a group of friends! We came here for a friend's birthday, and he ordered a couple different platters for us. We got to try the crab roll, lobster roll, lobster grilled cheese, and popcorn shrimp. My favorite was surprisingly the shrimp! I love that they seasoned the batter - they were so easy to eat. We also tried the smashburger and the ahi tuna nachos. It says that the nachos are a starter, but the portion was so big! The wonton chips were a nice touch. They have cornhole in the front and some arcade games inside. This is definitely a family-friendly place. Only con is that it's so hard to get to, so I don't think I would come here that often. But the food was actually really good!

Everything came out hot, delicious, and well seasoned. The Dungeness crab was a standout, and it was refreshing to enjoy such a wide variety of seafood and traditional dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. The interior was nicely done and felt different from many other Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. The food came out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but we were fine with it. It was kind of giving Hong Kong fast food/cafeteria type of vibes. It wasn't too busy when I went on a weekend for lunch. The salad contained wood ear mushrooms, which are known to release toxins if kept overnight, so I hope it was made the day of and not old! I really liked the udon beef stir fry. It was pretty big for just $13.95, and the udon had a good texture (not too mushy) while the beef tasted fresh. For the sauerkraut fish, you can choose between small and large. I got the small but felt that it was still a lot, so the portions are really generous. You can also choose between three different types of fish: basa, snakehead, and grass carp. The staff said snakehead is the most popular so we just went with that. It was filet (aka deboned) and tender when it arrived. But I think I'm not a big fan of the sauerkraut flavor. Also, it was crazy mala even with just one pepper sign. I'd go back to try the tomato sauerkraut version. I actually liked another fish dish more: garlic grilled fish.
