My fur baby upon arrival ‍
Nicole A.

It was my first time using Brooklyn Cat Sitting, much less leaving my cat behind while I was on vacation. I have to say I was so happy with the services. I love the kitty report card I had waiting for me at home and the daily updates I received while I was away to help put my mind at ease. Communication was great between the company, myself, and my sitter. A big thank you to Clark for everything. Any upcoming travels, I will 100% be using Brooklyn Cat Sitting again!

I have used them twice in the past year and absolutely love their services. Being away from your fur babies is always hard and we looked forward to our daily emails with pictures and updates. Love coming home to the report card as well! They are reliable, fairly priced and most importantly I trust them with my baby.

I've had very good experiences with Brooklyn Cat Sitting. They send me daily updates with photos while I'm away, and their sitters make a genuine effort to play with my cat, who is very shy. I've found their online portal easy to use.

Always reliable and professional, she is quick to solve any issues that may arise (we had a key-exchange mishap once) and, most importantly, she is wonderful with our pet! I worry to leave him alone and it's such a comfort to get pictures and check-ins. She even has a sense about when he's out of sorts (fireworks) and dotes on him accordingly. All the praise to Happy Pups and Vanessa for offering an amazing, effortless service. Highly recommend!

Vanessa has been dog walking and pet sitting our pups Oliver and Moxie for several years now and I don't know what we would do without her. When we adopted Oliver as a puppy from a kill shelter in Tennessee, it was Vanessa who taught him how to walk the noisy NYC streets. He is now a great city walker thanks to her. He is an anxious boy but he loves and trusts Vanessa and gets so happy to see her. She is also great with our other pup Moxie who also loves and snuggles up to Vanessa whenever she is here. We won't book any travel plans without booking Vanessa first. Vanessa and her staff at Happy Pups are reliable, caring, conscientious, and attentive to our pups' needs. When we return home from a long trip, we find our pups happy, healthy, and well cared for thanks to Vanessa and Happy Pups. This review is long overdue, but I found this business through Yelp and I want to pay it forward so someone else can find them and trust them with their animals' pet sitting and dog walking needs. You won't regret it!

Meet and greet was easy, and the dog walker they assigned us (Hi Brad!) was so considerate. Henry is particular (i.e. spoiled), and was having a hard time adjusting to the city since the move from suburbia. Brad would carry him to a place he can pee, dry him off if it rained, and spend some cuddle time indoors if the walk outside was short. Henry isn't socialized well, and I was delighted to learn that Brad was able to find a match where Henry was able to progress to buddy walks- thanks so much! Online scheduling and payment is super easy, and they are very quick to respond to last minute requests. Nothing but great things to say, which is a big deal since I'm a pretty picky dog momma!

Buddy's has been our go to for dog grooming for 4 years the past 3 groomer Peter has been more than our groomer he was our trusted friend. He was absolutely amazing with my dog and never failed to treat Malia like a true queen. Her cut was always perfection and he would love when I text him photos. Of course if I was absolutely shocked devastated and so hurt to hear this. Peter our beloved Peter has died suddenly and this is how we were told. Shame on you for now valuing the heart of your customers and the legacy of Peter. We will move on and find a new place to go but Peter is irreplaceable in our hearts. How this was handled tells me this is no longer a place for me and my family. RIP Peter. I swear that they have never actually bit anyone, but they want everyone to believe that they will. I explained this to Matt, who assured me that they deal with this sort of stuff on the regular. I firmly requested a female walker who must love chihuahuas, and I didn't want a backup or substitute walker. During the meet and greet with Vanessa that went smoothly, Miss Bossypants (my chihuahua-pug) tried to bark at her. Vanessa told her "you don't scare me", and that was it and she never did it again. They were immediately smitten with her, and they get so excited for their walks! My chiweenie even gives her kisses. It brightens my day to know that my dogs are so happy. After every walk I get photos and a pee/poo report. Scheduling is really easy through the portal and when I request changes I always get a fast response.

We signed up for the COVID virtual training during the pandemic after receiving a positive referral…read morefrom a couple in our building. Our new pup was in need of some manners training. The package we purchased offered 4 virtual classes. The first class went over quite well; Elizabeth recommended we make lickies (wetspaw toppls) and use a stick (bully sticks) to help keep our dog occupied during the day. Both are great suggestions which we continue to use months later. Scheduling for the next few classes did not prove easy, Elizabeth needed to cancel the second training session, and due to some responsiveness problems we weren't ever able to get time on the books for another date. We ended up just finding a different in-person one-on-one training option which logistically has proven easier and yielded great results. Despite not making use of the virtual training classes we were able to frequently make use of the in person "Play and Train" classes offered for puppies. What an incredible service, the Dog Institute employees do a fantastic job providing a safe space for puppies to interract and grow their social skills. Without question the best service offered by this business, our pup is comfortable around all dogs now thanks to these early interractions. We had also been working individually with some wonderful institute employees to help board our pup based on their availabilty but this caused some complications as the business required that all such services be routed through the school for payment purposes. When push came to shove, what should have been an easy interaction between individuals got complicated when the business insisted on getting involved; the payment structure requested seemed to change each time and was definitely not commensurate with market rate. Overall a few negative issues hurt what would otherwise be a positive experience.

From our first session on, it was constant rescheduling, constantly forgetting that we had an appointment, and often acting as if it was my fault. She seems to be very knowledgeable about dogs, but does not seem to put much effort into your virtual training sessions. She was often multitasking, once walking down Bedford Ave on a training session and commenting on various things she saw. She is incredibly kind but not a reliable dog trainer. To echo what someone else commented, she was also a little deceptive with the puppy play and train. After our first session she asked when we were going to the play and train. I naturally assumed that a play and train session was included in the package I purchased and booked my puppy a class through Elizabeth. After the play and train session I was texted to see how I was going to pay for the session. With that being said, the play and train sessions were the most impactful component of the training offered, but ultimately not worth it given that you have to simultaneously book trainings with Elizabeth. I truly hope that she can sort out her organization skills because she is truly knowledgeable and has the potential to offer dogs and their owners a lot. However, at the end of the day I felt scammed out of my money given how disorganized and unreliable she was and I did not even complete the full four session I purchased.
