Vanessa has been dog walking and pet sitting our pups Oliver and Moxie for several years now and I don't know what we would do without her. When we adopted Oliver as a puppy from a kill shelter in Tennessee, it was Vanessa who taught him how to walk the noisy NYC streets. He is now a great city walker thanks to her. He is an anxious boy but he loves and trusts Vanessa and gets so happy to see her. She is also great with our other pup Moxie who also loves and snuggles up to Vanessa whenever she is here. We won't book any travel plans without booking Vanessa first. Vanessa and her staff at Happy Pups are reliable, caring, conscientious, and attentive to our pups' needs. When we return home from a long trip, we find our pups happy, healthy, and well cared for thanks to Vanessa and Happy Pups. This review is long overdue, but I found this business through Yelp and I want to pay it forward so someone else can find them and trust them with their animals' pet sitting and dog walking needs. You won't regret it!

Always reliable and professional, she is quick to solve any issues that may arise (we had a key-exchange mishap once) and, most importantly, she is wonderful with our pet! All the praise to Happy Pups and Vanessa for offering an amazing, effortless service. Highly recommend!

Buddy's has been our go to for dog grooming for 4 years the past 3 groomer Peter has been more than our groomer he was our trusted friend. He was absolutely amazing with my dog and never failed to treat Malia like a true queen. Her cut was always perfection and he would love when I text him photos. I called today to book a grooming appointment and the gentleman who answered said grooming services are suspended our groomer died. Cold callused and without empathy or compassion. Of course if I was absolutely shocked devastated and so hurt to hear this. Peter our beloved Peter has died suddenly and this is how we were told. When I shared that we as customers should have received an email as we all loved Peter the response was it's on Instagram have a nice day! Shame on Buddy's for this. Shame on you for now valuing the heart of your customers and the legacy of Peter. We will move on and find a new place to go but Peter is irreplaceable in our hearts. How this was handled tells me this is no longer a place for me and my family. RIP Peter. I awoke on one of those days, just before I was due to go away, with no hope of finding a cat sitter for the weekend. After a friend recommended Brooklyn Cat Sitting to me on a whim, I reached out (Brooklyn Bark never got back to me for what it's worth) and Brooklyn Cat Sitting was quick to respond with a lifeline. The communication from the coordinator was excellent. The warm enveloping cloud-like pillow of comfort I felt when I chatted with my weekend sitter Kris via FaceTime left me feeling carefree. Kris had delivered the knockout punch to my stress. But this was only the beginning. We communicated via the Time to Pet app. As I thought of things I forgot, I messaged Kris and received a quick responses followed by with waves of relief at having made the right decision. I received lovely photos and wonderful updates that made me smile and great little messages (and white lies) about how well-behaved my little cuties were. I know for a fact they're demons, but she did make me feel, for a brief moment, that I was a good cat dad. Thank you Kris and Brooklyn Cat Sitting for a great experience! I look forward to using you again!

My cats love her and I know if anyone can win over our shy girl it's Carson! Highly recommended Brooklyn Cat Sitting!

I swear that they have never actually bit anyone, but they want everyone to believe that they will. I explained this to Matt, who assured me that they deal with this sort of stuff on the regular. I firmly requested a female walker who must love chihuahuas, and I didn't want a backup or substitute walker. During the meet and greet with Vanessa that went smoothly, Miss Bossypants (my chihuahua-pug) tried to bark at her. Vanessa told her "you don't scare me", and that was it and she never did it again. They were immediately smitten with her, and they get so excited for their walks! My chiweenie even gives her kisses. It brightens my day to know that my dogs are so happy. After every walk I get photos and a pee/poo report. Scheduling is really easy through the portal and when I request changes I always get a fast response.

Thankfully, my fiancé and I were recommended to Elizabeth & DIW and it was the best thing that happened to us in 2020. I called Elizabeth a month prior to getting our mini goldendoodle, Mookie, and she was so warm, knowledgeable and immediately put my nerves to rest. She helped us prepare for our new puppy and left no question unanswered. Once we got Mookie, we immediately dove into 1:1 virtual training. Her virtual sessions are awesome (and really effective)! Elizabeth shows you how to best train & manage your dog with positive reinforcement. Before the lesson begins, she always opens up the session with conversation to get a pulse check on Mookie and answers any questions we may have had since we last met. In addition to the 1:1 training, DIW's play&train sessions are absolutely perfect for puppy socialization. We dropped off (perfect for COVID times) Mookie 1-2 times a week for 4x hour sessions which were supervised by the kindest, most professional trainers I've ever met (shout out to Roshni & Julia). Mookie was able to play with similar aged pups and get training reinforcement from what he had been practicing at home from his time with Elizabeth. Win win! And what's even better is they send adorable videos and pics each session. Mookie always gets compliments on how sweet and well-behaved he is for his age. He loves other dogs and people. And we can't thank Elizabeth & DIW enough for that. Elizabeth and her team really do care about each pup that attends DIW and become an extended family & support system for you and your pup. It's beyond exceptional. Highly recommended! One more note. Elizabeth is more than just a trainer. She is a guru, a friend and confidante when she enters your life. In addition to training, she also prepped my fiancé and I on how to move cross country with Mookie and put our mind at ease with any & all concerns. I'm happy to say, we're very happy in our new home.

We signed up for the COVID virtual training during the pandemic after receiving a positive referral…read morefrom a couple in our building. Our new pup was in need of some manners training. The package we purchased offered 4 virtual classes. The first class went over quite well; Elizabeth recommended we make lickies (wetspaw toppls) and use a stick (bully sticks) to help keep our dog occupied during the day. Both are great suggestions which we continue to use months later. Scheduling for the next few classes did not prove easy, Elizabeth needed to cancel the second training session, and due to some responsiveness problems we weren't ever able to get time on the books for another date. We ended up just finding a different in-person one-on-one training option which logistically has proven easier and yielded great results. Despite not making use of the virtual training classes we were able to frequently make use of the in person "Play and Train" classes offered for puppies. What an incredible service, the Dog Institute employees do a fantastic job providing a safe space for puppies to interract and grow their social skills. Without question the best service offered by this business, our pup is comfortable around all dogs now thanks to these early interractions. We had also been working individually with some wonderful institute employees to help board our pup based on their availabilty but this caused some complications as the business required that all such services be routed through the school for payment purposes. When push came to shove, what should have been an easy interaction between individuals got complicated when the business insisted on getting involved; the payment structure requested seemed to change each time and was definitely not commensurate with market rate. Overall a few negative issues hurt what would otherwise be a positive experience.
