*THIS REVIEW IS FOR GABBY THE GROOMER* I am updating my review because after trying Gabbys services for the 3rd time I am 100% done and feel so sad for my dog because I trusted him in her hands. As stated in my previous review, my dog was red on his groin area but gabby assured me it was because he was allergic to the blade. My dog was groomed twice before Gabby and even though they did a horrible job with his haircut, he was never red in that area. The second time gabby groomed my dog she left him again with even more red spots all over his groin area and some of them even looked like my dog was zeeked. Again, i brought it up to her attention and she brushed it off to him being allergic to the blade and that she was going to have to just use the scissors. Fast forward to this Monday April 18th, 2022. Gabby let me know that she is grooming at her apartment because there are unsafe wires that the Owner of Strutting Mutts refuses to cover and she does not want the dogs to get electrocuted. I did not believe that a daycare for dogs would have unsafe wires so I called the business and confirmed that she was still affiliated with them just incase. I made an appointment for 04/19/22. Gabby picked my dog up around 12:30pm but did not call me until 6:30pm to ask me what cut I would like even though I sent her the picture. My dog was not ready until almost midnight! I now think she was stalling for my dogs wound to stop bleeding. Gabby does not charge the prices that are advertised. She said it's $10 more then charged me $40 extra ontop of that because she said my dog was matted. I've taken him to her 3xs in 5months. There's no way he was matted, yet she charged me $150! When I returned from work the next day (which happened to be his 1st bday), I noticed he was cut near his privates and had fluid coming out of it. I quickly sent her a picture and asked what happened to my dog. Of course she said it was his rash and that I already knew that happenes. She completely denied him being cut and never responded to the text messages where I questioned what happened to my dog during her care. I reached out to Paul (the owner) and he was apologetic and did not hesitate to give me a refund. However, I am not sure why he still affiliates himself with her if from what I've seen on the reviews, this has happened before. This is completely unacceptable! I got my pup groomed by Gabby yesterday! He's a shy rescue that we've had for a year and we were nervous to have him with a groomer but Gabby took care of him well! it took around an hour and a half for a deluxe treatment. gabby was very accommodating and kind about his nervousness and was super relaxed about dealing with a dog that isn't as used to humans! He came back smelling great, even his breath was nice! His fur was soft and smelled wonderful. I would give 5 stars but he was still shedding quite a bit afterward, I'm sure it's just a one time issue and I'll be sure to come again and update the review if the issue doesn't happen next time. grooming's a little pricey but great for being in the neighborhood of Williamsburg! We had our dog groomed by Gabby and it was FANTASTIC!! We have a 70 pound labradoodle. When we dropped him off he had long hair that was matted in certain spots and he was badly in need of a bath. We have very specific (and probably unclear) instructions on how we wanted him to look and he came out looking just as requested and even better! He looks like he's going out on a date! This is a review for the new groomer, Gabby. This woman absolutely mutilated my dog. She took a razor and cut his whole underbelly, privates and butt included. Not to mention his trim is super irregular and there are tufts everywhere. When I texted her about it, instead of apologizing she said "put some baby powder on it." My dog is finally returning to his usual self almost a whole week after the groom. His cuts literally scabbed and are still there, he was so traumatized he did not play for four days. I went to a different pet store/groomer to buy an antibiotic ointment to make sure his cuts didn't get infected and they were AMAZED at how horribly Gabby cut and treated my dog. The owners of strutting mutts were receptive and very apologetic. They refunded me everything and even paid for his ointment. When they spoke to gabby they told me she realized she cut my dog and "forgot" to mention it which is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. They also told me they were eliminating gabby because of this experience. Given the 2 reviews (although positive) she has gotten this week, it's evident this was a lie. Although they took accountability for her poor job I do not like getting lied to and am leaving this review so that more dogs do not get cut and hurt. Take your animal somewhere else! This was by far the worst and most expensive groom we've ever gotten. Not worth the trauma. read more

About a year and a half ago my boyfriend Chris had just moved in with me with his two big dogs-a pit bull and a pit boxer mix. Chris got sick and I had to take him to the emergency room and I was in a panic since I knew I couldn't walk these two alone. I reached out to several dog walkers on Yelp and Paul is the one who answered immediately. I was frankly, a bit hysterical and he was so sweet and accommodating. When I met him he picked up the dogs so effortlessly and even took them to stay over. It was a huge help and relief. Since that time Paul and Cory have become our regular dog walkers and I cannot recommend them enough. These are not the easiest dogs. They are both over 70 lbs and can't be walked with other dogs. clearly no one here is very organized. I have entrusted strutting mutts with my dog for daycare and I guess fool my once shame on you, fool my twice shame on me. in the past week they have royally f'd up twice. The owner is a lovely person, but is always overwhelmed and stressed and clearly does not have a grasp on the amount of pets they are responsible for. After paying extra for my dog to be dropped off at home, he was just left inside the apartment, none of my instructions followed. He was without food and water for hours in the dark and got into some very dangerous things as he was not put in his crate like asked. After receiving an apology I needed there services the following week and made sure to tell everyone i could at the daycare how he needed to be put away. When I came home he was in pitch darkness and had thrown up everywhere. They clearly have gotten in over their head, and do not have the time or attention to offer any genuine care for our pets. read more
