We are so happy to have found Happy Pants for our dog walking and dog sitting needs! We have a 75lb dog, Mello, who is difficult to walk sometimes as he is super friendly and loves to pull towards other dogs. David from Happy Pants was able to take him on longer and further walks than we ever could! David was very responsive to our questions and messages. So happy we worked with the Happy Pants team. This was the first time we ever hired a dog walking service for our 2.5 yo Hudson, so I was an anxious first time dog mama. David and his Happy Panters have taken care of our dog Rossi for over 7 years. Even through covid, his business remained reliable (and safe). As our beloved pup aged, Happy Panters were sensitive to her changing needs and we always felt she was well cared for. Best dog walkers around! I had never used a dog waking service but I started feeling guilty about leaving my sweet angel fur baby, Lilly, at home all the time. Plus, she is getting older, and I wanted her to have some more human contact, exercise, fresh air, etc! I was referred to David (the owner) of Happy Pants, and couldn't believe how kind he was. I had heard stories of people never meeting their dogwalker but I couldn't fathom it. David was so accommodating to schedule a time could meet Gray, get to know him, and have a chance to explain Lilly's needs, attitude, etc. I had a camera in my apt and was so pleased with the love and attention Lilly was getting! These guys truly love animals, they aren't here to just walk the dog and get the money. Shortly after, they made some route changes, and we were switched to Nick. Gray was amazing for the short amount of time we were with him, but now we've been consistently with Nick & WE LOVE NICK! Like I said, these guys love animals! I'm so grateful to have found them! David, is great at communicating any updates on temporary route changes, as well as staying on top of schedules for holidays. He is also very responsive when I have last minute changes or questions. Whenever I travel and Lilly stays downtown at my friends apartment, they even setup Lilly on the downtown route and Ariana was equally wonderful. They are very reliable, respond right away when I ask questions or make requests and are very accommodating. Bernard, who walks my dog leaves detailed and thoughtful notes daily. David, Terry, JJ, and the rest of the gang are all fantastic. They walk and feed my dog in the Financial District five times a week and sometimes on weekends as well. They have always been able to accommodate my erratic schedule. David is an excellent manager- answers emails almost immediately, came to my apartment to set things up right after I called them- and the dog walkers are wonderful. They leave detailed notes about the walk and how much they love my dog- I don't even care if they're exaggerating about how great the dog is because those notes are often the best part of my day. I've been really impressed by HP and the love they give to our pups, both on the occasions that we need walks during the day and on the regular house stays that I've had them do. Their people are super with the pups (who are pretty tough not to love!!) and very conscientious about our home and schedules. It's a little annoying that one of our dogs gets more excited for walks with the pro than when I take her out, but I guess that's the risk you run :-) read more

Happy Pants, you guys are the best! I've been a client for about a year now, and Dave and his crew are fantastic. They are always happy to help out when I need to schedule an extra walk or overnight stay, and I always feel like it's no trouble at all! Best of all, my dog is really happy. When I first moved into my new apartment, my upstairs neighbor complained that my dog was howling during the day. I guess he was a lot more lonely than when I was in grad school and had a roommate and I was worried that he was stressed out and anxious... Also, my neighbor was the kind of man who would send letters to the building management and try to get people evicted for things like that. After some research, I decided that the best thing I could do for my dog was to make sure he had more attention during the day and plenty of exercise. That's how I found Happy Pants. This is such a great company! I've had nothing but positive experiences working with David and his 'Panters" (walkers). I use them on an ad-hoc basis for when my brother is dog-sitting and I've always appreciated their flexibility of being available on-call for my pup, Max. I also love the fact that they offer dog runs! Just visited New York and called Happy Pants to walk our Rocco, our pug. Rocco can get overheated, and I received a call from David, the owner, who told be he was panting a lot. We told him how he overheats and David was kind enough to peronally keep him cool, gave him water and took personal care of him until we were back. It was clear how much love he has for dogs. I've since moved back home to California, but we used Happy Pants from Nov 2010 until we moved at the end of Feb 2011. We did private walks 5 days a week for our beagle. Dave: GREAT at answering all emails about scheduling, concerns, etc. We had 3 people living in the apartment, so our schedule was always fluctuating depending on if any one was going to be home or not from week to week. Dave was so great at communicating it to our walkers and charging us appropriately. Steve (our dog walker): SO fantastic. Our beagle gets pretty bad separation anxiety, but her daily walks with Steve led to a lot of improvement! He also left great notes for us every day to let us know about their walk that day...also helpful because he would let us know if she went to the bathroom or not! I highly recommend them. We rescued a puppy (Hudson) with severe separation anxiety and were very nervous about leaving him home all day in our apartment building and not disturbing the neighbors. We found Happy Pants on Yelp, called David and explained the situation, and he came out to meet Hudson same day. From that moment forward, never a day went by when a friendly and capable walker (generally the same one, but subs were available in the event of conflict or illness) didn't spend 30-45 minutes with Hudson. They always left nice notes and even stayed in our apartment with Hudson when we traveled. My husband and I have crazy work & travel schedules and often made last minute requests and cancellations, and David accommodated every single one without even the hint of a complaint or suggestion that we were inconveniencing him, though I know we did. (I don't say this to encourage such inappropriate client behavior, rather as an FYI as to how great the guy is.) We just moved to San Francisco and recognize it will likely be very difficult to find a walker anywhere near as great as David and his team. Just hire them! read more

Happy Pants has been a dream come true. David and his crew take such amazing care of my pup Stanton and walk her on my not-so-regular schedule. I live in FiDi and have had some mixed experiences with previous dog walkers (think drop by's 2 hours early to just pick up the cash; never showing up; not informing me of incidents with other dogs), and never with Happy Pants. The service is always consistently on point, professional, and most importantly, Stanton was always so happy by the time i got home (and tired!). David worked to accommodate my scheduling and provided a great resource to help with my pup's anxiety. The notes are hilarious and it's clear Happy Pants hires a staff who truly cares about the animals they tend to. The rates are extremely competitive (I have friends who pay more for half the time and for non-private walks - crazy!). They also make life easy if you need to head out of town for a few nights - Stanton barely missed :) I could rave about Happy Pants incessentantly, and recommend them to anyone who is looking for reliable and trustworthy pet caretakers. don't know how I could ever find a better dog-walking company! read more

We especially love Katy, who leaves such funny and helpful notes, I've actually learned a lot about how to read my dog's behavior much better through her -- and she seems to genuinely love the dogs she takes care of.
