A half of our party of 6 ordered various omelets, the rest had a chorizo scramble, two-egg breakfast and myself the Santa Fe Benedict served on cornbread topped with house-made chorizo. Our waitress immediately provided us with water and lemon wedges on the side. The menu option is vast, with many different dishes to choose from. Once we ordered, our food arrived and was piping hot. We love the syrup at Brooksfields, which is one of the main reasons we dine for breakfast. Also, you can substitute your preference for meat with your sausage; we choose turkey sausage. The ingredients used at Brookfield are always on point. The ambiance is relaxing and family-friendly. We always enjoy dining at Brookfield and often eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This was my first time trying Brookfields. I did not leave disappointed. The staff was super friendly and my waitress so sweet. Since it was my first time I asked her for her recommendation she said The Ruben was her favorite so I went with that and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. So much flavor and the French fries were so good and perfect crispy. I used the season salt that was on the table and it gave the fries extra flavor. Bear in mind this is a review for a typical diner type restaurant. Food doesn't have to be perfect or five star at a diner, it is what it is. As far as diners go, this is a go to for us, as it isn't terribly expensive, and the restaurant accommodates a large group fairly quickly. I have never had a bad meal at this diner, from Cobb salad to burgers, to breakfasts to sweets, everything is decently good. Unfortunately, four sisters which was our favorite breakfast spots closed in Roseville, so this is a great alternative if you are wanting to do country breakfast or pancakes, burgers, etc. I think they are a bit nicer Than your typical diner, and the wait staff is always very friendly and professional. I've been to this location a few times since it's in my area. I've had a burger before which, was tasty. But almost always I get the captain's platter. It has fish, fries, and shrimp. It's so good and never gets old. My dad got me started with eating this dish and it's his favorite on their menu too. Their service is always great too. I've yet to try their breakfast which, is surprising. Btw the captains platter comes in 2 different portions a lunch one and then a dinner. I believe the difference is how many shrimp you get? Went there last Friday, mid morning for breakfast. Kayla was our server and she did a fantastic job. My husband and I enjoyed our breakfast. The breakfast potatoes were awesome. He had an omelet and was still commenting about how fluffy it was today, almost a week later! I love the Boysenberry scone and had some of the homemade strawberry jam with it. The best combo! Went for breakfast on a Thursday. We ordered the Newport Beach egg white omelette, chicken fried steak and eggs and the California eggs Benedict. The chicken fried steak was way over cooked. The hollandaise sauce had zero flavor, the eggs were over cooked. The omelette was bland. The house potatoes were yesterday's baked potatoes. Everything lacked flavor and seasoning. Our server was also the break server so after he dropped off our food we were not checked up on. Our waitress was very kind and super attentive to all the multiple tables she was attending so I'm thankful for the good experience. However the food didn't look or taste appetizing at all to me. I ordered the biscuits with gravy that comes with 2 eggs and sausage patties. I did NOT imagine them all coming on top of each other, I really assumed they'd be separate, so I think as soon as I saw my plate I was turned off. The gravy was pretty decent, but the sausage patties had a little bit of a weird kind of hard texture, the eggs were a bit on the runnier side. Visited this restaurant for the first time on a holiday Monday at 11:00. Place was very busy but wife and I were seated quickly at a comfortable booth. Food was overall very good! My basic hamburger was cooked just right and was juicy, with a fresh brioche-like bun. Wife liked her spinach and mushroom omelette. Only con was the breakfast potatoes needed another minute or two on the grill, they were too firm; they were also somewhat under seasoned. Service was good; the food took a while to arrive but it was busy and the servers were all hustling. We'll be back for sure! Can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu! read more

This restaurant is pretty good, similar to Black Bear diner. Although, there are not a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. Even the "Vegetarian Soup" is made with beef broth. (Really, Brookfields? BEEF broth in vegetarian soup?!?) I try to eat grain, dairy and egg free, so slim pickens unless I want a salad. I'll typically get a side of breakfast potatoes with avocado and fruit. It's good. My partner adores the Belgian waffles. Service is also typically good unless they're busy. Overall a decent place to eat. read more

I had less than a one-star experience at Brookfields Roseville restaurant this week. Ordinarily, Brookfields is cheated by any scale that doesn't reach ten stars. I had delayed my first meal of the day and drove over 60 miles to officially start my day with one of Brookfields' extraordinary breakfasts. I arrived at their easy-to-find Roseville location. The parking lot was humming. Once inside I realized that there were lots of personal parties going on -- it's graduation week, and it looked like there might have been a few early Father's Day celebrations too -- the place was busy. Knowing their routine, I put my name on their waiting list. I also told the hostess that I was more than happy to sit at the counter. She reassured me that their smaller tables were underused and it would just be a few minutes. I stepped away from the hostess area and waited my turn. I waited for close to 30 minutes as one small party after another was being seated -- and these were people who'd come in after me. I finally found another hostess. She checked their list and found that my name had not been added. Apologizing, she led me to a clean booth next to a window that overlooked their pleasing, sunny, exterior. My server, who was as busy as all the other servers, greeted me in just a couple of minutes. Water, utensils, and coffee were set in place in the blink of an eye, and then he took my order. I sat there another 20 minutes waiting for my meal. It finally arrived but with the wrong toast. That happens. My server apologized and said he'd stand by the toaster and zoom the correct toast back to me ASAP. (This was above and beyond -- and typical here.) I realized that my sausage and egg breakfast must have been sitting for some time -- it was barely warm and my fried eggs had turned to gel. I finally started eating while observing my server sprinting around the place, even right past me, and without a word about the rest of my breakfast. In the meantime, I was hoping for a second cup of coffee -- I mean, I'd been seated for over a half-hour. Both hostesses casually passed by without a glance -- several times each -- as well as four other servers who did not seem overburdened by their work. I finally got up and went behind the counter to refill my cup. I guess that I might consider the positive side of things -- breakfast served as a three-course meal! I'm sure that's not their intent though, and it certainly wasn't mine. Feeling pretty steamed up, I decided it was time to go. I took my ticket up to the hostess station (and that's probably an old-fashioned term -- sorry) to pay. She was the hostess who was supposed to add my name to the waiting list, and the one who'd walked right past my table several times. She was fiddling with menus (not complaining -- part of the job). However, she set them down and turned to leave. I asked her to give me a second, "Am I invisible today?" She seemed a little surprised by my question. I explained my experience, including that she had not added my name to the waiting list. In every way, I was not seen or attended to until I spoke up, or went to grab my own coffee. She immediately apologized and said that I shouldn't have to pay for my meal. Thank you. Thank you a ton -- sincerely. But, I'd have to say, too little, too late. Look, I know that the place was busy. I set my expectations by what I'm told to expect, and no higher. Though she didn't use it, she had a great excuse -- the place was BUSY! However, that's NO excuse for the other unusual things I experienced. It's poor planning by management that leaves a restaurant -- one with dozens of multi-party reservations -- understaffed. It's a failure to train their staff to be alert to every customer's needs. (This has been my experience on dozens of previous visits to this location -- an expectation that Brookfields has set for themselves.) Finally, it's a failure of anyone on duty that has any management responsibilities to coach their people to keep tuned in to every customer. Otherwise, the message is, "You're not my responsibility." read more

I love this place! I don't live locally anymore but when I'm in town visiting family, I always make sure I come here. The food is delicious and a great value! The setting is comfortable with minimal noise level even when busy. The staff is always kind and makes you feel like you're home. Always consistent. I was just there this past Sunday afternoon and had my usual terrific experience. I also had the opportunity to interact with the manager and his care for the restaurant was evident. read more
