Made to order are grilled breakfast burritos, sandwiches, burgers, and wraps. They have a few grab & go selections on their counter display. I got myself a Freddy's breakfast burrito ($12) containing eggs, mushrooms, sausage, bacon, green onions and pepper jack cheese. It was hearty and filling. Short Stuff has their own counter but you pay the gas station attendant. If the POS system is down and you don't have cash, they have one of those private ATMs for a fee. It is located across the street from Fat's Asia Bistro. On one section inside the store is a kitchen and they make some of the best sandwiches my palette has ever tasted, nothing fancy, just good 'ole taste-of-home kind of sammies. My cheeseburger didn't have the prettiest presentation but the thick, juicy burger was delightfully satisfying. Twice I've ordered the BLT on sourdough toast. They put lots of bacon on the sandwich. It's so good. I have yet to try their breakfast items. I've had this place bookmarked for the longest time. Business hours are limited (see photo) which makes it difficult for me to make it here and sometimes I just miss the window on when they're open. Also, it's better to call in your order so you're not waiting. Just pick up and pay at the register (not at the kitchen). Tips are appreciated. Needs more flavor! The breakfast burritos weren't bad, and were made to order. But it wasn't as flavorful as I hoped. They were small too.

So confused when I pulled up because there was only a Chevron gas station. As I went inside I didn't see any signage that the worker in the cove was Short Stuff Cafe. I grabbed a paper menu and sure enough, I had found it! The menu had many more items than expected given there weren't any chairs or tables for guests. I ordered a breakfast croissant and my son ordered a Meat Lover's Breakfast Burrito. They had a ridiculous amount of salsas to choose from, enjoy playing with them! Breakfast Croissant w/ sausage and cheddar cheese: 8 - Sausage was decently flavored but the croissant was very good. I got lots of cheese and egg but this really needed mustard and Mayo or some other condiment. It wasn't greasy which is a death low to a sausage croissant...decent option I'd say. Meat Lover's Breakfast Burrito: 6 - Breakfast burrito was on the greasy side but had lots of ingredients. Girthy burritos with a decent flavor, but feels like it's lacking salt? I don't think I've ever said that about a chorizo item before because I always felt chorizo had a natural greasy flavor to it, but the chorizo burrito was lacking oils/flavors that I always hope for in a breakfast burrito. I called before I drove the 25 minutes over to their place on Saturday morning and the guy told me they were open. Their hours of operation on Saturdays are listed as 6am-10:45. I arrived at 9:00am and they had already closed!! I said, "I called ahead before I drove all the way over here." The guy just replied "oh well, we were slow so we closed down." This is NOT how you run a business. If you don't abide by your OWN hours of operation then why do you have them? Just say "we open and close when we feel like it, good luck." After having this place bookmarked for years I finally had a chance to stop by here. Located inside the Chevron on Eureka don't expect to see any signs at least I didn't notice any. There is a tiny kitchen set up with hot plates and fry pans to cook up your hearts desire. I tried the Philly and the meat lovers wraps aka burritos. I wanted a BLT but they don't serve lunch on the Saturday and I believe they are closed on Sunday. In case your in a hurry they have some burritos pre made in a hot case as well. The Philly had sliced steak, eggs, cheese, onions and peppers. The Meat Lovers had eggs, cheese, ham, sausage, bacon and green onions. Both burritos were cooked fresh to order in a few minutes. The Meat Lovers seemed bigger but hey they use the good ole eyeball method of measurement so you are guaranteed to get enough food. Both burritos were tasty and filling. I believe they were either $ 5.99 or 6.99 not sure but this place is worth every penny. After you place your order with the friendly staff you take the receipt and pay the gas station cashier so no need to worry about "cash only" like a lot of tiny spots require. The salsa they served was generic bottled ones you can buy at the grocery. The cook was not wearing gloves when she rolled the burrito. Some of the best breakfast burritos we've ever had! Got Dan's & chorizo, & both were loaded with tasty ingredients! I thought the sausage was particularly yummy. Best part was that even with our meaty choices, they weren't salty! I anticipated the potato to be in chunks, but they were thinly sliced, which made for a nice distribution & bite. I would have enjoyed a bigger presence of egg & green onion, but these were minor issues considering how delicious they were. I was stuffed before I could finish, but wished to keep eating! The secret is out y'all! The Chevron Gas Station on the corner of Eureka Road & Rocky Ridge Drive has a bomb grill inside! Yep. Gas station burrito's all around and they are absolutely something to write home about. They are big, delicious, cheap and so so worth the 10 to 15 minutes you may wait in the morning if you don't call your order in. Phone orders are encouraged in fact. Come for breakfast or lunch because they are only open until 2pm. All of the good places close early! I've tried many of the breakfast burrito options and I usually add avocado, they don't skimp on that either. Well worth the slight upcharge. Lunch is super tasty too with the usual grill options, burgers, grilled cheese etc and you don't have to pay a ton to enjoy a good little meal. We have been coming here for breakfast burritos for 20 years. I always tell people that they would be surprised by how great a gas station burrito is. I have not been in awhile because of cancer treatments and it's an hour drive round trip. My husband went today to surprise me, I was highly disappointed. They no longer make them to order, they are now in a warmer, by the time we got home they were cold and soggy. That never happened when they were made fresh. There's nothing worse than cold eggs on a soggy tortilla. It's not that hard to make so I guess from now on when I get a craving I will make my own for 1/4 of the price. To add to my disappointment, due to chemo treatments my immune system is low. My husband was treated badly for wearing a mask. People wore mask before Covid while going through chemo. It takes something significant for me to write a review, but this needs to be brought to everyone's attention. I came in on Friday 6-7-24 around 9 am to order a breakfast burrito. One of the usual ladies working behind the counter took my order and then proceeded to grill up the contents of my burrito while I paid and then came back. It was not busy and my burrito was the only one on the grill. While the lady was finishing up grilling, a younger Caucasian gentleman came from the back and started hovering around the grill and other prep area with ingredients. I immediately began to watch him because he was not wearing gloves and did not wash his hands. Hopeful that this business had sanitary food handling practices, but also nervous that they didn't, I stood silent and closely watched the process continue. I'm glad that I did because as soon as my burrito came off of the grill, the young man reached his bare hand into the cheese container and proceeded to throw it into my burrito. When I asked why he wasn't wearing gloves, his response was that they never wear gloves, and that they only wear gloves if they have cuts on their hands. In pure disgust I immediately got a refund and left. Gloves should be worn at all times when handling food. No question when it comes to stuffing contents into a burrito. Absolutely disgusting lack of standards. The only person wearing gloves at the time was the lady on the grill, but that was only due to the cuts on her hands apparently. When I mentioned the issue to to cashier she tried to down play their unsanitary practices, and said that, "no one has gotten ill from their food." Yeah right! Disgraceful and disgusting practices. If anyone has become Ill after eating their food, this is why. They are lucky to get 1 star. It might be time for a random inspection. read more

Let me start by saying that it is not lost on me that this is an eatery inside of a gas station. I get that, but I've been here 10+ times and never had an experience like today. This experience will prevent me from returning, unfortunately. We went in this morning and ordered our wraps, and took our ticket to pay. While we waited, I watched one woman cough into her bare hand, wrap two wraps, cough onto these wraps, and then hand them to the man next to me. She began coughing into her hand again, after we'd already paid, and wrapped our wraps up. We took them and ended up not touching them. This is disgusting BEFORE we were in a pandemic, but compounded by the fact that the women were both maskless, gloveless, and one was open mouth coughing into our food - I'll have to refrain from returning.
