My wife and I have traditionally liked this restaurant. Had been going for years prior to COVID and this week went to the Roseville location. Nice, clean restaurant as we have always remembered. Our breakfast was what we typically order and prices had doubled...literally. When the food arrived it was barely warm. Not sure why when they are slow like it was yesterday that the food cannot come out hot....not appealing to me. Service was very good however. We do not plan on returning. read more

This was our second visit to Brookfields. The first was for breakfast which was great. The service and food were great as was the ambiance. We just went tonight 2/3/26 to try dinner. Again, our server was exceptional, the food was great. My wife had the salmon and I had the chicken fried steak. The timing of service for the drinks, breads, salads, and entree was perfect. The servers are always so friendly and polite, with smiles. The food has always been first rate and if you have to exchange carbs for something else, they have no problem accommodating you. It was awful. Horribly rude server, who tossed our plates on the table, did not bring us any utensils, and after we received our food we never were asked if we need anything when she went passed our table. She ignored us when we asked for our check. We went there before and was served rancid cheesecake and they refused to give one of us a free tapioca. We'll never come back. The food is great! I love going here with family and not having to wash the dishes after! They have lots of options for both breakfast and dinner and our favorites are the Santa Fe Benedict and the Pulled pork sandwich! I love the homey atmosphere and the farm-look of the decor! We chose Brookfields for our car club Christmas dinner. The service was excellent. Everyone seemed very happy with their meal. Was impressed that you could actually visit without a lot of background noise or loud music. The manager made sure that we were well accommodated. So we had dinner last night here and we're very happy. Quick service. Husband had spaghetti with meat sauce and I had their Delicious liver and onions. If you aren't sure you like liver you should try it here. Very tender with good flavor . However the mashed potatoes were lumpy with skins. Didn't say it was that on the menu or I would have asked for something different. That just tells me you are too lazy to peel and mash potatoes correctly. We are here now having breakfast. They do need to work on their coffee. It has a burned taste to me. Husband tried it the other night and were hoping for improvement but no such luck. They also only have home fries and NN hashbrowns which we prefer. Husband had pancakes with eggs and bacon. Bacon had very strong smoke taste. The kids plate was a good serving for $6.50. But for $17 I didn't think the western skillet was worth it. It wasn't hot enough for me and was just ok. I probably wouldn't order again. This was our first time trying this location but we eat Brookfields often. This was the first time I've tried the skillet. I usually get a sandwich and I will probably stick with the sandwiches. I also bought two cookies and they were not good. Service was excellent though. read more

I had been recommended to try Brookfields by a family member, and was very surprised by what I found. My group had a rough start; it took us a good ten minutes before anyone even stopped by our table to ask what we wanted to drink, and then another few minutes to get our drinks (water, fountain soda, and lemonade). But once we got going, the service was actually fantastic. Our waitress was so sweet and happy to help us out as we were navigating the menu for the first time. I also observed the manager going around to tables and chatting with tables he clearly has gotten to know (which if you have seen some of my other reviews, you know rapport is a big deal for me). He even came to our table and checked on us. I love when managers are actively involved in what is happening in their restaurants. The food is not exactly spectacular, and neither is the ambiance. It is a typical diner-style restaurant. You can get breakfast all day, and there is a decent variety to choose from for lunch and dinner. For the highlights: -I don't usually like cornbread (specifically the texture). I loved the cornbread at Brookfields! I would get it again. -I love the idea of sweet potato pancakes, and they were very tasty. -I went with my grandma, who got the tapioca pudding free for being a senior, but didn't want it, so I got to enjoy it. I am hit and miss with tapioca (it has to be the right texture and flavor), and this was perfect. -The food does not come with much seasoning on it at all, which for the group I was with, was perfect with our varying flavor needs (one person can't have pepper, the other can't have too much salt). They have salt, pepper, and even a house seasoned salt (available for purchase) on the table so you can season your food to taste and dietary needs. -Some of their main plates are available in value sizes for value prices (aka smaller plates and lower prices). Two people got the turkey plate but each in a different size, and both had leftovers, so depending on your appetite or if you need leftovers, you definitely have some good options here. Overall, Brookfields has great food for all, great service, and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back! read more

Not ADA compliant to bariatric patients. Requested to order off of the kids menu and explained why but was denied and in leu the wait staff mimicked the order but as adult portions and then rang it up individually as sides. This is against the law as I am protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. It was a complete waste of food at my expense as my surgically altered stomach only holds 8oz of food at a time. Shame on you - Do better! I hope you realize you broke the law and can be fined. read more

Just have to say, this is the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. The mashed potatoes are perfect. And... the country gravy is out of this world! I have been eating the turkey dinner here, once a week, for months. My favorite comfort food. But, now I'm alternating with the chicken fried steak! Maybe I'll have to try something else one day? So I went here a couple of weeks ago and it was my first time and was not sure what to expect or order...now that I have been here, I would comeback again. Our server was amazing and kind to our table. The food literally comes in huge portions. I ordered the fried steak which literally was and juicy. Went there for lunch. Had never been as I am from out of town. The service was amazing. Probably the best I have experienced at a restaurant that didn't have a James Beard star. Seriously. I had to try the beef dip as it appears to be voted #1 in the area. It lived up to it. The sandwich had so much beef. The bread was fresh. And, I think most importantly, the meat was not overcooked like one finds at so many other versions of this. Frankly, would have been fine without the dip. Exceptional experience. This place was busy on a Monday around 2:30 but the service was still excellent. It looked like our server was waiting on more than 15 tables at once, which I know from personal experience can be overwhelming. The food came quickly after we ordered and I really enjoyed my sandwich. The soup was just ok, kind of bland. This was our first time here, so I wasn't sure what to expect exactly. My husband enjoyed that he could watch the football game from our table, but thankfully, the TV was turned up too loud (I can't stand that), so we both got what we wanted.
