I have been picking up breakfast for one of my clients here consistently. She loves the sausage breakfast (3 sausage links, choice of eggs, choice of potatoes, and toast with choice of bread) and the open face turkey sandwich (hot turkey smothered in gravy with mashed potatoes also smothered on gravy.) For my client, the kitchen has done an amazing job! There does seem to be a difference in the way the food tastes when it's ordered through doordash. For instance, the mashed potatoes don't taste as fresh as when I come pick up her order. For my other client, I came here for breakfast and we both ordered a glass of OJ and the Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes and your choice of bread for toast. The OJ was very warm since they don't refrigerate their oranges. So we both asked for a cup of ice. That fresh tasting OJ was much better! I wanted crispy potatoes... for crispy potatoes, they basically put a weight on the potatoes and smashed them into the flat top. It's not what I expected. I thought they would've dropped them in the deep fryer instead of serving me a plank of potatoes. Both our eggs Benedict dishes had obviously sat under the heat lamp for quite some time because the sauce was dry to touch. Since I eat with my eyes first, I was greatly disappointment. Plus the hollandaise sauce wasn't as good as it should be.... but that's just my opinion. My client enjoyed hers! Brookfields is a classic staple to roseville. Their food is pretty good... I'm just very very picky. There are many booths to sit in and when it's busy, the servers are working hard and fast to keep you satisfied. Large open windows surround the restaurant giving lots of light during the day or gorgeous moonlight in the evening. The staff are always very nice and quite efficient for how busy they are. Came here for the first time with my friend and had a blast! This place is so cute and nicely decorated! The friendly staff were dressed up in candy outfits and even let me take a pic to post here our server was super friendly and had the best outfit! My friend ordered the M&M Egg Benedict I ordered the Newport Beach Egg White Omelette with their gluten free toast and green tea. So yummy and filling! Bathroom was clean and not smelly. We have been going to Brookfields for over 25 years. It's not fancy or gourmet, but has a cute, homey decor and is easy on the budget. I gave it 5 stars because it is comfort food and not expected to be trendy. I didn't feel like going out so we ordered takeout. I ordered my favorite the Garrett's Stuffed Chopped Steak. It's my favorite comfort food of a hamburger patty with grilled onions, chilis, cheese & gravy with a side of mashed potatoes. I always order with the cornbread but they also have dinner and GF bread. My husband ordered the same but with the onion rings instead. Our son had the Bob's Steak Sandwich with Garlic Fries. He liked the sandwich but it was hard to eat because of the cut of the steak. For dessert we had carrot cake & cheesecake. The carrot cake was a disappointment because it only had one piece of a nut in the entire slice and not much flavor. read more

Once again, Brookfields impressed! My daughter and I rewarded ourselves after doctor visits with a much needed lunch out. The hostess who greeted us was so sweet and seated us immediately. Our server was an absolute delight and worked her section of tables like a seasoned professional. She was patient, knowledgeable and gave the absolute best recommendation about how they normally cook the salmon on the salad I'd been pondering. She even went and asked if there were mushrooms in the chicken pot pie that my daughter was thinking of ordering. If you've worked in the service and food industry before you notice the the little things, and not just from the people who bring your food. From the people who clear and clean the tables, to the servers, to the cooks, this place has always been run with love and efficiency. Very spacious family owned diner. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. We came for dinner. I got the chicken fried steak w eggs and my wife got the prime rib sandwich. Both were very tasty. Also a standout was the kids menu at a very good price point. Definitely coming back next time w are in Roseville. read more

update: the last time we were here, the food was good. not sure what happened, but 2 of our entrees were bad. So what did we order? 1) waffle combo: our dining companion almost devoured his entire entree - fluffy waffle, nice juicy sausages, but the eggs were too runny and under cooked - which he pushed aside. 2) chefs salad: fresh produce and our friend asked for no tomatoes, cheese, dressing, and eggs. she appreciated that the kitchen was able to accommodate her request. 3) now the bad news: we ordered two chicken fried steak entrees. Eggs were also under cooked and the chicken fried steak had too much grizzle, meat was tough, over coated, bland, and the country gravy had a flour flavor which means the kitchen did not prepare the gravy properly. blah blah blah. gross Silver lining: we told our waiter and the manager came to our table. He apologized and said perhaps their meat supplier was using cheaper cuts of meat. I asked if they changed meat suppliers- he said no - which makes it even worst. Bottom line: he removed the bad entrees off our bill. But it still doesn't excuse why the country gravy was prepared poorly and under cooking of eggs. We hit up Brookfields pretty often and it's always solid! Last night, we had Shannon as our server for the first time and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our meal. I also overheard her dealing with some gruff from the table next to us, which she handled with professionalism and efficiency. I almost always order the soup and half sandwich, but last night I had the Sam's sandwich on sourdough and it was delicious. My son ate his breakfast-for-dinner so fast that I'm not even sure exactly what he ordered, and Shannon made sure his Dr. Pepper was never empty, not once (not an easy feat)! Looking forward to our next visit! Very good food overall. The burgers were cooked perfectly and juicy. The sweet potato fries were also nice. The salmon plate was okay, but I felt the salmon was a little dry. It was still better than salmon I usually try to make at home though. The waiter was helpful, but service was a little slower than expected. The restaurant was clean. The restaurant air conditioner certainly works well, perhaps a little too well. We were in a spot that had it directly blow on us, so we were cold (despite it being 103 degrees outside). Brookfields Restaurant is a small chain of three family owned and operated restaurants, that have been serving delicious "Americana" cuisine in the greater Sacramento area since 1981. Over the years, they have become a favorite of local diners who enjoy fine cuisine, served by friendly staff, in a welcoming, comfortable dining room. Lucky for me, one of the three restaurants is located on Taylor Road, in Roseville, CA. As you enter the restaurant, there is a welcoming counter, where you'll be greeted, and seated by a friendly staff member. On this early Tuesday morning, the restaurant was lightly seated - to say the least - so I simply walked up to the counter and grabbed a seat. The welcoming counter contains samples of some of the freshly baked goodies the restaurant is known for, along with a few of the many bottles of wine that are available. The restaurant has two dining rooms, separated by the entry way, with divides it, with makes for an interesting and unique layout. Both dining rooms are nearly identical, and provide for comfortable dining. From the "Sunrise Specialties" section of the breakfast menu, I went with "Chilie Verde Skillet." The menu advertises biscuit on the side, but toast or pancakes are offered, so I classically went with sourdough toast. Such a great breakfast! The "star" of the breakfast was the chili verde, but the "foundation" of the breakfast was a layer of diced, perfectly seasoned home style potatoes, fried to a golden brown on the outside, with the inside tender and juicy. I suspect the potatoes were seasoned with Brookfields' house seasoned salt... why not? Whatever the case, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and made for a great start to this delicious skillet. Shredded and melted jack cheese was placed on top of the potatoes, which not only added taste, but it helped to keep each bite together. I also noted there was a small amount of green chili verde sauce on the potatoes and the cheese for added flavor. The "showcase" of this amazing breakfast was the diced, perfectly seasoned chili verde, which was placed on top of the bed of potatoes. The pork was juicy and tender, and the portion size was great, as with each bite of this delicious skillet, I was rewarded with a piece of pork. Two eggs, fried over easy as per my request topped the meat, potatoes and cheese, along with a helping of pico de gallo and a scoop of sour cream. The skillet was skillfully prepared by the talented kitchen staff, as with each bite, I was rewarded with a little bit of everything this fine breakfast had to offer. All of the ingredients worked together to make a truly delicious skillet, with a lot of Mexican influence and flavor. Muy sabroso! The menu lists this comes with a biscuit, but toast is an option, so I went with sourdough toast. My two pieces of toast were toasted, and coated with lots of melted butter. The toast included a little cup of strawberry jam, which I left behind, as I don't have a sweet tooth. The skillet and the toast worked together to make a delicious breakfast, which kept me happily fueled-up until dinner. It was definitely a respite from bacon and eggs, and maybe not for every taste, but especially with the Mexican influence, I loved this fine breakfast! I love the high ceilings and the elegant, yet "country" atmosphere the comfortable dining room offers. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Shannon is the best server. She was personable, attentive, and very patient when my toddler spilled her hot chocolate all over the booth. Our food came out quickly even the last minute order we put in was ready very shortly after. All the food was delicious and very good portion for the price. Shannon made sure our waters were always filled and the sodas were filled as well. It's not very often you get good service like we did tonight before they closed. I cannot even begin to rate our experience at the Roseville Brookfields last night. If I could give a 10 I would. The service was perfect, Donny is an amazing server. He ensured we wanted for nothing, and the young lady who delivered our food was very kind and helpful. We also met with the manager who was very gracious as well.
