Great menu/Great food! We were a party of 9 and they gave us a good size table and service was great. Can't go wrong with the pull pork sandwich. We order the cheese curds to start with but they were a little disappointing. The glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay was a bit on the warm side. The Broken Oar was your average restaurant. You won't be disappointed if you are just looking for a meal. It was overpriced though. My husband and I paid about $100 for 2 entrees and 2 sodas. This restaurant is wonderful! It came highly recommended from the folks at Moab Adventure Center. We tried to get a reservation. They only accept reservations for parties of 6 or more. We were told the best way to get guaranteed seating was to be there when they opened at 5pm. When we arrived at 4:45 there was already a line of people waiting to get in. The impeccable service, the absolutely delicious food, the flavorful teas and dessert- all were superb. Our server, Dakota, had a number of tables to attend to, and yet we had the pleasure of her winning personality and delightful service snd attentiveness throughout our meal. She even took time to give us directions when asked. We would have eaten here every night if we'd known about Broken Oar Restaurant when we first arrived in Moab! read more

My husband and I enjoyed a great meal in the huge log cabin called Broken Oar. The pulled pork and beef brisket were delicious. The BBQ sauce may have been their own recipe. Stopped here for dinner after a long day of outdoor adventures! Vinny was our server he was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed the ribeye and the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was perfectly cooked as was the ribeye... however the meat was not a fabulous cut (a bit tough) but the chef knew how to cook it/ season it right. We ate at the broken oar last night and had a very nice meal on the deck outside. The staff was friendly and Franklin was extremely kind and professional. We both ordered the Game burger which did not taste any different than a regular burger and came out medium well instead of medium rare as we both requested. We showed it to Franklin when he stopped by to see how everything came out and even the hostess came over and said "I'll get that taken care of", so I held off eating any more of it and ate my fries and salad. After some time it was clear the hostess wasn't coming back so I finished my burger. Franklin came, we paid our bill and began to leave. As we were leaving the hostess rushed over, said nothing about our meal but handed me a card and asked me to give Franklin a good review. Not many options in December in Moab. Its a little overpriced in my opinion, but guess ya gotta make up for lack of Winter tourism and small population. Ordered a burger, I think it was the Fiery Furnace but I dont remember, the spicy sauce was good tho. The bun was good and unique, but it was just a cheese burger in the end, nothing spectacular. And they sell ya on the sweet potato fries but they taste like everywhere else. The ambience is kinda cool. They decorated for Christmas so brownie points there. Just wasn't super impressed with the menu as a whole. But they do have some Moab shirts and gear. read more

The bowl of sweet potato fries were amazing! Everyone was happy with their meal! Hubby got the ribeye and was grilled perfectly. The buffalo burger was nice and juicy and my son loved his kids cheeseburger as well! I'm a huge French fry person and not the biggest fan of steak fries...they could've been a little more crunchy! The Broken Oar has an interior reminiscent of cabins probably more suited to Jackson Hole than in Moab. An opinion that doesn't at all detract from how beautifully decorated and classic it felt to eat at this establishment. Classic, not classy. It's thematically a frontiersman's rest that boast large chilled drinks, meaty sandwiches, and a large steak/ seafood menu. We were seated on the second floor, up past a wide staircase. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and also allowed us to provide instructions for special accommodations. My companion and I had sandwiches that were loaded with meats and was very filling. Did I mention their chilled drinks are massive? Their spicy cucumber lemonade is a must-try. Very unique and an ultimate thirst quencher. If I'm coming through Moab in the future, this restaurant is on my short list! read more

Fantastic dinner at the Broken Oar. It's a popular spot for sure. No reservations accepted but luckily we only waited 20 minutes for a table. As expected the service was super! Our meals were excellent. The brisket was outstanding. It was so tender and the fat melted in my mouth (yes, I ate the fat... I was on vacation...no rules). My husband's brisket sandwich was piled high with tender meat. It's messy so, ask for extra napkins. The only thing we didn't love were the boneless wings. Just a little too much breading. Overall a great experience. We fell in love with Moab. Hope we return soon. Looking forward to another great meal at the Broken Oar. read more
