We came across this place during our stay in Canmore and had a really great experience! The food + ambiance are both great, and we showed up right at happy hour which is from 2-5pm. They have a nice heated outdoor patio where we sat, seemed like it's better to make reservations ahead of time to get indoor seating. Their pizzas/pastas are great, and my husband was a big fan of the lamb sausage! Would definitely recommend as an option for anyone wanting to do a nice lunch/dinner out! Hopping, popular restaurant in Spring Creek. We were recommended this place by our server at Blake. We didn't have a Rez and at 6:30 on a Tuesday night the only available seats were at the chefs bar, where you watch all the meals being prepared (fun for us, but that must suck for the chefs). Kindly, we were offered a twenty minute wait for an actual indoor spot, but it was super stuffy and warm, so...sadly..,we left. Went to Tavern 1883 where the greeting was warm, the patio was breezy and delightful, and the unexpected happy hour prices were incredible. Wish we could tell you about the food because it did look good. We might order there to-go later this week. We would rank this as a 4.8. The food is clearly better than any other restaurant of this caliber in Canmore (note that we did not try the two gourmet restaurants in town). I would venture to say that if you had to choose a restaurant in Canmore this should be on your short list and likely first choice. Get the smashed cucumbers, the ricotta dumplings, and possibly the beet salad. The truffle pasta is good too, but I didn't really taste truffle, which is probably for the better. I'd skip on the garlic bread. Honestly the big plates don't seem as value oriented as getting several smaller plates to sample. Also get pizza here. The pizza places in this town are garbage, and you can get as high quality pie for the same or cheaper price here. It's new inside, clean, and very well appointed. There are tons of staff and the service is well above average. Some dishes are innovative like the salmon crudo, others are basic dishes (like pasta and pizza) done well. If you want something other than Asian fusion, this should be your first and only choice. Honestly, it should just be your first choice in general in Canmore. I will say, it is a bit expensive at 140 dollars for drinks and food for two, but we did order quite a bit. read more

The menu is setup for sharing, so you can try lots of different small plates. The garlic bread is a MUST with its incredibly soft cheesiness inside and crispy exterior. Although the chicken dish doesn't look appetizing, it was amazingly moist and sliced perfectly for sharing. A few friends and I had just arrived in our Airbnb and we were looking for something to eat for dinner. We found Bridgette Bar within a 3 minute walk from our accommodation and were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I'm not quite sure why, but I wasn't expecting much from the food in Canmore. I knew this area was all about the nature and hiking (the sole reason why we were in the area). We had ordered a few plates based on our liking as well as recommendations from our server which included the salmon crudo, garlic bread, zucchini, eggplant fries, mushroom pizza, and halibut. Every dish was great!! I loooved the garlic bread that was stuffed with cheese and maybe the eggplant fries and mushroom pizza were a close second - it was hard to decide which dish was the best! Very lively and energetic bar/restaurant and obviously popular with locals as well as visitors, as we saw lots of people greeting each other. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good -- not as great as we were expecting, given the price point and other reviews. My husband didn't care for his wood-roasted cod with rutabaga and chunks of brioche in a saffron kind of sauce ; I enjoyed the maple BBQ trout, though. (Mine came with creamed kale and potato mash that he helped finish.) our side of roasted Brussels sprouts was huge; the greens were covered in some kind of bacon foam that we weren't crazy about. We would eat here again, but order differently. Tip: Avoid being seated near the outdoor section (yes, people are eating outside under heat lamps). The door was opening and closing constantly -- at one point it was actually propped open for about 10 minutes, letting cold air flow in. When we initially tried to get to the Bridgette Bar earlier in our trip, but alas, the place was closed for a function... Thankfully, we were able to make it back on our last night of our trip. The place is cool --- but thankfully, not "too cool" as they would have never let me in --- nicely decorated, modern and upscale, but again thankfully not too much for simple folk such as me... We wanted a special meal for our last night in Canmore, and the Bridgette Bar did not disappoint. The potato appetizer ("Crispy Smashed Potatoes" ) that I sampled off of a friend's plate (don't tell her!) was just plain wonderful, and the pizza that my lovely wife and I ordered (Margherita) was fancy, but not too fancy, and thankfully, very tasty and well-cooked! And yes, as a former New Yorker, I am an absolute confirmed pizza snob. You can see the chefs via the open kitchen, and man, you could see they were working hard, and you could sure taste it in the the quality of their cooking! Tiffany, our server, was great --- she kept our glasses full, answered our questions about the area (who would win the fight if both towns were fifty foot robots: Camore or Banff?, etc.), and made sure that the last meal our little group had in Canmore was Top Shelf! We visited Banff National Park for our 15th Anniversary from California and decided to have a night cap here. We were seated at the chef's station, and started chatting. Even though we were full from dinner and refused dessert, the chef insisted on gifting us delicious banana pie for our anniversary. We were touched and will definitely be back if we return to Canada! Poor management and communication. We had a party of 13 and were told it would be a 2 hour wait. So we said, ok, call us when it's our turn to be seated. 2 hours later, we went back to the restaurant and suddenly, they could not accommodate our party and the full menu was closed to us. None of this was communicated to us when we initially spoke to them for our party. And hostess said we should've known that there was supposed to be a fixed menu for our large party with a deposit. How could we know this? A group of 13 women from out of the country trying to have a nice dinner together, only to be treated disrespectfully. Unbelievable. This is the "to-go" spot in Canmore. Came to Canmore for 5 days and spent 3 of them at the Bridgette. Atmosphere, services, quality of food was fantastic. Special shout out to the team of Jonah, Brendan, Gabby and Alex for making us feel like part of the team (Gabby & Alex, thanks for securing the couches for us near the fire). on September 9th, 2024 we visited the Bridgette Bar in Canmore. when we arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated at our table. I was so surprised at the beautiful atmosphere. I loved the open kitchen concept also. Our server, Kaitlyn, was a breath of fresh air. She was engaging and funny. She was prompt and always checking on us even though she had many tables to tend to. The food is mid at best. They try hard but every dish feels a little off, just not that great. It may be a peak season thing but they have an odd wait list/reservation system that deters as there is only a 4 seat bar and two lounge couches that also "have to be reserved" so no where to wait or hang out. Even the guests are overly pretentious and if they are not seated immediately become upset and hover over the hostess stand, they prolly mow through their hostesses as it is very stressful for them. read more
