Bridgeside is your typical American diner and their most appealing trait is their location next to the Bridge of the Gods. Come for the view, not the food. Covid Safety - This area is currently allowing indoor dining and I observe half capacity with every other table being available. Hand sanitizer station. Plexi glass at the cashier. Staff wears face masks and customers wear face mask until they are at their table eating. Salt and pepper packets provided. Ketchup is given in a disposable sauce container. At Bridgeside, you order and pay and the cashier and they give you a number for your table. My friend ordered the Chicken Fried Steak ($12) which comes with 8-grain toast and 2 eggs of your choice, in which she picked sunny side ups. I ordered Corned Beef-Hash 'N' Eggs ($11) which comes with 2 eggs of choice and I also opted for the sunny side up. Keep in mind I said sunny side ups!! Well please look at my photo. When the food came out I was so confused. Both of our orders eggs were completely cooked through. Being from California, I told my friend who is living in Oregon... is this an Oregon thing?? Plenty of jokes were made in regards to Oregon's lacking in Sunny-ness. A bit later one of the staff members came by to inform us that they dropped off the wrong order and this order belonged to someone. We were like ohhhhhhhhhhhh!! Makes sense... cause those not-sunny side ups were throwing me off. Also they dropped pancakes off at our table and the whole time my friend thought it was mine and I thought it was hers. Fail. Staff offered to make us sunny side ups but that would be to much food and we didn't want to be wasteful with food. My friend really enjoyed her food and finished her plate. I enjoyed my order a lot less. Other than my unsatisfactory egg, the corned beef was not flavored well and tough. I picked out the potato pieces and ate them, but they were quite mushy in the center and lacking crispiness of the edge. The bread came with jam and it was just ok... I really loved the bacon that came with the pancakes we didn't order. But cause of food handling safety they left us that plate. Neither of us liked pancakes though so it was an unfortunate waste. After breakfast, we walked over to take a closer look of the Bridge of Gods. That itself was worth the trip, but based on what I ate I wouldn't really promote their food. read more

Large room with tall ceilings. You order at the counter and grab a seat. Service is friendly. It is sort of like diner food. Breakfast and lunch. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich. ***Café & Souvenir Shop Review Only*** There aren't a ton of establishments in the tiny town of Cascade Locks, but the Bridgeside seems to be a major staple in this area. For one thing, it's walking distance from the popular Bridge of the Gods. After my group and I walked the Bridge of Gods, we stopped here afterward. What's nice is that they have clean public restrooms and an adorable café and giftshop right near the entrance. There's also a full-service restaurant, but brought we all our lunch and decided to skip dining there. The cafe offers hot drinks and baked goods. It was cold and rainy that day, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab a hot chai and a cookie. Both were very tasty and I loved the fact that they added whipped cream to my chai (like I really needed the calories! But it was good). We also picked up some souvenirs for the road. The lady working in the café was super sweet. They have a good amount of parking here too and there's a beautiful walking/biking path close by. Plus, this restaurant is located so close to the bridge that you'll be able to get some really insane views. I can't comment on the food from the actual restaurant, but this is a convenient place to stop after walking the bridge. read more

I heard a lot about this place and always wanted to go here. The place specializes in burgers so we got the bacon cheeseburger. We tried to find a place to sit with a view. It took them forever to come over and clean our table. The place was packed as it was Memorial Day weekend. Our burgers were just ok. One strip of bacon on it cut in half. I think they can at least put 2 strips of bacon don't you? Cheap cheap cheap. Make sure you get some chocolate or fudge as you leave the place on the right in the gift shop area. I absolutely enjoyed my visit ... exactly what I expected (with a million dollar view)! While exploring Cascade Locks we stopped in for lunch on a Monday. The corner booth was open and I already loved this place! Ordered at the counter, special was BOGO 50% off any sandwich. Took a number to our table and enjoyed the view until our food was delivered. Turkey BLT for the kids - lots of meat, bacon was a little over cooked but made a great crunch. Reuben - great taste but needed 2-3x more meat! My wife and I dined here twice for breakfast since the Best Western provided us with complimentary breakfast vouchers during our stay with them. We walked to Bridgeside from our hotel but there is plenty of free parking for those driving. Bridgeside is cafeteria/mess hall style dining, including the plastic trays to place food items on. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to ones table. Bridgeside doesn't offer any wait service. Bridgeside offers baked goods, breakfast, lunch, dinner, beer, wine and hard cider. Bridgeside has a window outside for those who prefer take-out. A gift shop is also on-site to browse through. A coffee stand is located in the gift shop. Bridgeside has a large banquet room with a great view for large parties. Outdoor seating is available. During our stay my wife and I each ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and the Cascade Breakfast with Apple Sausage. Both meals were mediocre and lukewarm in temperature. Both meals were plentiful and filling for our days of hiking. Overall, without the complimentary breakfast vouchers, Bridgeside would not be a place that my wife or I would choose to eat breakfast at. Staff members were just as dull as the food. Well, all I can say is I suggest you never come to this restaurant. The nachos that I ordered were $17 and it looks like they took the nacho chips and drop them in the fryer. They threw some barbecued pork on top a bunch of olives and then squirted some chipotle sauce over the top and this is how my meal came ! They had no soda machine or ice and apparently it's been down for over two weeks and then they offer Pepsi products but they're hot, not even in the fridge and still have no ice! My sons burger had a giant long, black hair that didn't belong to him and the burger was so chard it tasted freezer burnt. read more

I got a grand view of the river and of course the Bridge of the Gods, hence their name Bridgeside. there was plenty of available window seats - in February that's pretty normal. in milder weather there is outside seating on the 1st floor as well. I like the layout there, cafeteria style, you walk in and ogle the desserts in the case - slices of pie, crumb cakes, cookies and cornbread. if you can make it past the dessert case, you order at the counter and they bring the food out. very kind staff... they brought out my warm slice of apple pie after I finished my meal. they don't have the staff turnover that many restaurants suffer from (post-COVID-lockdown) and I appreciate that. the cutlery is not insubstantial, I was quite impressed. they certainly didn't cut corners with the silverware. quicker and less expensive than Thunder Island, this place is the best destination for me when I need to put 60 quick miles on my bike. ravenous hikers come here with good reason, but it's a neat place just to pop in for a snort of tea and a bit of pie, and check out the water and the passing trains. yamaha FJR read more

Hey guys I HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND this restaurant it was a totally bad bad experience. Many bad things about it from the food to the building itself. First of all it took them about 35 minutes to bring out my food when I was the first one to order in a group of 17 people. Second of all the condiments ketchup, mustard, food had flies in them. When they FINALLY brought my food after I complained it was pink which it wasn't to my request. We told the workers and she made faces. Im paying for it it's not free, customer service was not good either. Third of all they made us seat out in the patio while they were painting the building, it was windy we were smelling all the paint while we were eating. Decided to stop her for a late lunch since it was right on the river. We got there and the view was beautiful. I ordered mozzarella sticks ($6) and French fries ($6). My mozzarella sticks were not fully cooked so the middle was like a warm cheese stick. The fries had zero flavor and tasted microwaved. The burger my friend got was completely burnt all around the sides, but barely warm. Then she found a short blonde hair in it. The penne pasta ($12), tasted like heavy whipping cream. When eating my mozzarella sticks I also discovered a blonde hair partially cooked into one. The view was absolutely gorgeous 10/10 with tables right next to huge windows. Since we've been staying at the Best Western Plus next door, we've been enjoying our complimentary breakfast at Bridgeside. They have a select menu for guests of the hotel and many of the entrees are hearty breakfast items. Our go-to has been the Cascade breakfast, which comes with eggs (any style), hashbrowns, 8-grain toast, and choice of ham or peppered bacon. I really enjoyed the simple, flavorful breakfast and was happy to start my day this way before embarking on our hikes. The view makes the experience even better! Be sure to come early so you can enjoy a table near the window overlooking the Columbia River. read more

I would give them 3 1/2 if possible. The food is good for a cafeteria/grill. I had the seafood plate. The clams, shrimp and fish were all crispy on the outside and moist inside. My husband's meatball sandwich was good. The place is clean and the help is friendly. I also like stopping by their gift shop for a goody (fudge and cookies) to go. The best part is the drive there. The gorge is beautiful and the booths in the restaurant have lovely views. Great destination for our Harley ride. I also pick up some fresh salmon and fruit from the fishermen in the parking lot. I had the special which was a tuna melt and fries with a drink for $10. My guy had the burger. He said the patty itself didn't taste very good. It's an order at the counter type of place. I was very offended by the cashier - this is a walk up, order and they bring it to you restaurant. As others have said if more than X people they charge an 18% gratuity. Unfortunately, they don't tell you they add that and members of our party tipped even more. When I asked if she added something - she was incredibly rude, especially when I said she should tell the customer. She said it is posted somewhere with a horrible attitude. There was no service at all! Not once did they come by to see if we needed anything. In addition, the bathrooms were filthy! I see the Griswold's enjoying a lunch or dinner here, for a break from the road. PLEASE NOTE: THE VIEW IS SO SPECTACULAR and the view alone, possibly worth a stop)!!! The food is not gourmet, but it's reliable. The salad bar is clean, and the view from the register seems to say the same about the kitchen. When I order a burger, I want it to, at the bare minimum, be juicy and saucy. I am sad to say that the gifford pinchot, even with what should have been moisture-containing portabello, was unfortunately dry AF. Albeit I did take my order to go, but I took a bite of the burger as soon as I got to my car. It was hella dry and I waited til I got home to slather some more condiments on it. The price is good, but not the burgers. Also, the buns overtake the burger in my mouth. I hope whoever's the burger decider behind the counter sees this review and considers stepping up their burger game. The crew looks like a hardworking bunch. This restaurant is where the locals go. It is not fancy, fine dining but the portions are huge and the views are phenomenal! On a nice day, you can sit outside for a six star view and sip your coffee as you watch the river flow and the tugboats and barges go by on the Columbia River Gorge. It is self service. Walk in ans order and they bring it to your table. It is self seating so grab a window booth! I enjoyed the corned beef hash and my daughter had an omelet. I've been to this spot many times. We used to stop here with a large group on our way from Portland to Spokane. The restaurant sits right on the Columbia River and has a large windows along the entire back side that overlooks the amazing views. As you might imagine the restaurant is "bridgeside" too. The bridge takes you into Washington and to a beautiful scenic route. We took the route a couple years ago and there's a small fee but totally worth it. He food is always good here and the staff is so accommodating. I would recommend any of the burgers. Today I had the fish and chips for the first time. The fries were good and the fish was crispy but not greasy. My husband got the island burger and said it was amazing. They have gluten free buns and side options as well. You will find a wide assortment of fresh pies and desserts. There's a large self serve salad bar with several options. The seating room is huge and there's a section available for groups with more privacy. Attached is a gift and souvenir shop with fresh fudge (several flavors) and baked goods. The restrooms are always clean too. This is a great place to stop for whatever you're looking for. read more

Used to love this place. Has been good food value for the money. Not anymore. Last Sunday went for breakfast. Ordered a Denver Omelette. Wanted Pancakes instead of hash browns & toast. Was charged a $2 change order fee. Been was as resent as 3 weeks ago. Want I was served was the smallest omelette I have ever seen. AN ONE single pancake. Have been getting 2 in place of browns & toast with no change order fee. Heard others make reference to their omelettes being short eggs & filling. Taste was the same. But $17 for a tiny Denver Omelette and single small pancake. Smallest I've ever been served anywhere. We won't be driving up from Portland anymore. My granddaughter and I came to Cascade Locks for lunch as we were driving home from the Oregon coast. Bridgeside is a little spendy for such casual dining. You order cafeteria style and then go sit down and they bring your food to your table. I ordered the gluten free Reuben sandwich. It was so full some of the sauerkraut fell out. But I didn't mind because it was fantabulous!!! Gluten free bread was very good and the inerds of the sandwich were amazing. Food was very good. We were in a party of 8 that paid separately because we were 3 groups of people. Even though we paid separately they changed us 18% gratuity for cafe type service. There was no one getting coffee or drinks. They brought us our food when it was done but there was no waitstaff for anything else. Even the group of 2 in our party paid 18%. Seems ridiculous to me. This is my favorite place to dine after spending a morning at Carson Springs. Not only is the view beautiful, and worthy of a five star restaurant, the food is home cooked and like comfort food. I ordered the burger with white cheddar cheese and bacon, with the marionberry cobbler for dessert. Well, don't judge me, I actually ate the cobbler before the meal because I ordered it a la mode, and the ice cream was all melty and looking at me all deliciously, so I started with the cobbler. They have an assortment of menu items, but I think the highlights are the fish and chips, burgers and chowder. They also have a good looking salad bar, but I've never ordered that there. Get a seat along the window to really enjoy the view and don't forget to get one of their fresh baked cookies on the way out. read more
