Cute, eclectic place. My husband and I are on vacation, staying at the local KOA. As we were driving through town we started thinking about what we wanted for dinner...I wanted chowder, my husband pizza. Much to our surprise, at that very moment, twe drove past Cascade Locks Ale House and right in the front window, the food Gods (or should I say, "Bridge Of The Gods") were smiling down on our stomach's. Although the building looks quite old, inside was full of nostalgia from the surrounding area. The staff was very attentive, our food arrived quickly...Salmon Chowder for me and then we split a pizza, half Colombian for my husband and half of the Naturalist for me. I think the prices were fair, roughly $50.00 for a beer, a cider, the salmon chowder and a large pizza. All in all, everything tasted wonderful, we will be back.

Stumbled onto Cascade Locks after hiking around in the Gorge area with my friend. We just decided to stop at the next place that looked good and that was Cascade Locks Ale House. We were still planning to go on another hike, so I was mostly interested in a lighter lunch. I ended up ordering the salmon chowder and pulled pork sliders. Both were so tasty! Never had salmon chowder before but I really enjoyed it. It had really good flavors--wasn't as fishy as I thought it'd be-- and I loved that it was creamy. The pulled pork sliders did not last long as they were so delicious. I tried them with their signature horseradish and it really was perfect! Light and airy bread with good bbq pulled pork. The horseradish has a kick to it, so just beware. If you can handle a kick, I highly recommend giving the horseradish a try, I loved it! Jules waited on us and she was great, attentive and friendly! She showed us her book of PCT hikers who stop by throughout the year which was pretty cool. It was cool to learn that PCT hikers stop there. They even have a fund to buy a hiker a beer! I love that! Definitely would recommend stopping by the Ale house if you're in the area. They have good food and good company!

Don't bother. It's not open and they don't answer the phone. Super frustrating especially after a long drive.

The burger is typical, thin, dry, and tasteless. The services is fine and the establishment is designed to have entertaining space for kids.

Gorges Beer - A smattering of delicious things

I was in with friends from mountain biking in the area and we were hungry and thirsty. IPA was great. The Wagyu burger with Gruyere cheese and caramelized onions was big and delicious - put your bib on. It's gonna get a little messy and that's the way I like it. it was hot so we sat in cool bar with a cold frosty IPA. Mountain View across the Columbia river. Three stories - lots of places to sit inside. Second story deck outside but a little hot this afternoon. I bet the evening is awesome. Great craft brews and sandwiches. Excellent service with a smile. No brainer winner winner winner.

Seating is mainly on the rooftop where you get a nice overlook of the Cascade Locks neighborhood. The beer list is mainly handcrafted beers from Oregon so if you're looking for domestic items such as Coors light or Bud light, this ain't your location. We did some Kolschs and the Day Hike Pale Ales. The Pale Ale is tasty and easy to drink. My sister likes the Kolsch although it didn't appeal to my girlfriend as it was a bit sour for her. She did like the Pale Ale so I had to order another one for her. As for food, I went with the farmers salad and the wings while my sister got the classic cheeseburger and my girlfriend went with the chicken sandwich. The food came out pretty quick and we dug in. The salad was bigger than I expected and I loved the beets and bacon with the goat cheese mixed in. As for the wings, I could've done without those as they came out dry and tough. The sauce is pretty good (hazy ipa buffalo) which I'm sure would amplify the flavor of the wings if they weren't so stiff. My girlfriend and sister both enjoyed their chicken sandwich and burger. I probably should've ordered one of those cause they looked tasty. My nephew ordered the kids chicken tenders w/ fries. He ate them and didnt' complain which is a good thing. The location also hosts events such as weddings and engagement parties; not surprised given the views of the area and the access to the beer. Apparently there's also a Gorges Beer location directly in Southeast Portland if you don't want to go all the way to Cascade Locks. This spot is alright; my nephew enjoys it here so I'll probably be here again when we visit the Hatchery next time we come.

First of all, the drive into the town was gorgeous and scenic. What a restaurant with a view! Easy parking and plenty of seating on the inside. Second, the staff were incredible. From the moment we walked in, the young lady taking our order was friendly, welcoming, and helpful with our questions as non-locals. Another co-worker was helpful in helping us to get seated and bringing out food/drinks. Wonderful service, thank you! Third, the food was AMAZING! Everything we ate was fresh, hearty, and so flavorful. We shared a cup of clam chowder and it was so creamy and delicious. My husband got the fish and chips with the Cajun seasoning and it was so scrumptious! And very filling! I got the smoked salmon po'boy and it was so decadent. I loved every bite and walked away stuffed! And, on top of it all, prices were so reasonable for such fresh fish and ingredients! If we are ever in the area again, we are going to be sure to stop by Brigham Fish Market. It is worth every minute of the drive, every dollar, and every bite! Thanks for an amazing lunch!

Thanks to the power of Yelpers, we discovered Brigham Fish Market. Inside is bright, clean, and welcoming. Keep in mind, this is not a restaurant, but a fish market with delicious food and a handful of tables inside for folks to sit and enjoy, as well as tables outside. If you're looking for fancy, this is not the place, but if you want delicious, homey food, you won't be disappointed. Since we were still full from our biggish brunch, our original plan was to buy salmon and head home to Portland. However, the folks were so friendly and helpful, we decided to pick up some smoked salmon, a Coho salmon filet, AND shared some fish and chips with clam chowder. Full disclosure, I'm not a big fan of clam chowder, but I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. It was flavorful and didn't have that dreaded gritty, sandy crunch, which is why I typically avoid clam chowder. The fish and chips were light, crisp, and super flavorful. The person who helped us recommended their favorite Cajun preparation, and I am so glad we followed their sage advice (thanks again)! The fries were equally delicious-- golden, light, and crispy. The smoked salmon was incredible. It was yummy on its own, on a bagel with cream cheese, and our lucky Sheepies also got a little smackerel for being good girls. They give four paws up. As for the Coho salmon, it was fantastic! The person who brought us our packaged-up goodies reminded us that Coho is a thinner cut and we should take care not to overcook. Oh, did I mention that when you purchase fish to go, they offer you ice? Huzzah!! We were so grateful for this offer, since we had forgotten to pack our cooler. The next night, we prepared our precious Coho salmon by broiling it in a miso-maple glaze for no more than six to nine minutes. It was tender, juicy, and oh-so-tasty! We can't wait to return for more, and this time we'll come with empty stomachs so we can indulge in more of the menu.
