BBQ ribs, slaw, and pinto beans with jalapeños in them
Leon W.

My daughter and I ate lunch here today and it was not to my taste, but of course everyone's taste buds are different! The BBQ ribs were dry, the potato salad was made with too much mustard and the BBQ sauce tasted made with too much vinegar. But the Brisket, (marble) was to die for!! I would go back in a heart beat for the brisket!

Sausage sandwich with potato salad and beans

Love coming to this place. The brisket is always so tender and mostly meat. Today, I got the sausage sandwich, which has a slight kick. The potato had the right amount of seasoning, and perfection. I'm picky with beans, but they are amazing. Baked potato melted and was devoured. Very quiet, chill spot with a bar next door. Friendly, amazing people.

Found this hidden gem literally by just driving by. Very friendly staff and let me tell you. Fantastic Wagu Brisket, chicken and sausage! Pinto beans were pretty good. Potato salad taste like it was purchased elsewhere but decent. It was a little expensive but I don't mind paying for quality meat. Not really sure why the restaurant was so empty. On a scale of 1 thru 10, I have to give it a 9.5! I will definitely return.

Ribs, beans, coleslaw, and bread.

Food was amazing. Service was excellent!! My husband is a picky eater, but really enjoyed the food. Definitely going back!!

The food is an excellent deal for the price you pay. Very fast and efficient and friendly service.

Brickyard BBQ was recommended by a family friend. Place was nice, clean, relaxing, probably had around 15 tables. Not too busy when we arrived just before noon. The brisket was delicious as was the beans and coleslaw. It was obvious that they were training an employee at the register, all staff were friendly. It was the 1st time eating there but definitely not the last time.

Delicious dry rubbed ribs and delivered to us next door at the bar...if I lived closer id be a regular at these amazing prices! People are so nice at the restaurant as well as the bar next door!

The larger cup, beans. The really, really small cup, bbq sauce. I ordered 2 meats so definitely needed more sauce.

The brisket was kinda dry, not moist at all, overcooked? Or just sitting there too long. Definitely needed extra sauce. Ribs were good, fell off the bone. Potatoe salad ok. Beans had awesome flavor. Need more sauce and more pickles. MISSING the bread!

My colleague s and I dined here for lunch, and it was our first time trying this bbq spot. This restaurant has a convenient location within the medical center. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but seemed to start picking up as we were leaving. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean. They have two TVs and this is a plus to enjoy a show while eating. I ordered the loaded baked potato but it's not the kind of loaded that I'm used to; I still I liked it but it lacked seasoning. Even after sprinkling an excess amount of salt, I still couldn't taste it. I added bbq sauce but it didn't help with the flavor. As a matter of fact, the bbq sauce tasted watered down. I don't know if it was a certain brand or homemade. My colleagues enjoyed their meals. The brisket was cooked to perfection but something was missing. The soda was good and wasn't watered down. In comparison to other bbq joints I've eaten at, this place can't compete. The prices are excellent but I'd pay extra for larger servings and better taste. I do plan on eating here again but will bring on my own seasoning if I decide to dine in.

Briquettes with 2 sides. Potato salad and pinto beans.

I love brisquet, it was delicious. Albeit a bit expensive. That's the going price for good brisquet. The place has been there 6 years. Must be doing pretty hood. The 2 gentlemen there were pretty friendly. Clean restroom. Nice and quiet.

Brisket

Came to this restaurant on a whim on a lunch break. Generally I save bbq for when I go back to houston, but decided to try it out. Brisket (2.5/5): I requested the brisket to be moist. At $21 a pound, I felt the price was much better than the $28+ I'm used to. However, I felt it was pretty average. The smoke ring was practically nonexistent, and I definitely had a lot of leaner or dryer cuts mixed into the batch. Flavor wise it was decent, but I would probably stick to Rudy's if I wanted brisket that is priced well. The location is convenient in the medical center, the price is great, but I have had better brisket overall.

Flavorless dry brisket and dry bread

Unfortunately, worst bbq we've ever tried. Ribs and brisket were really dry, meat portions are small, no flavor and sides tasted store bought. The cream corn was watery. Even the bread was dry. None of it was worth the price we paid. Service was friendly, but the food was no good. Don't recommend and won't be returning. So disappointing.

Loaded brisket baked potato.

Loaded brisket baked potato. This barbecue place is like a hidden treasure. The food was very flavorful. We were told very little salt was used, but it's very very well seasoned. No salt and pepper shakers needed. It was just a hidden treasure that we discovered, and we will be back.

Seating is plentiful. Is it worth it? Yes. Go early. Before they sell out. This is Texas BBQ. You see their smokers while waiting in line. All wood fired. All honest quality bbq. It took about 35-40 minutes to get to the door and another 10-15 inside. Service wise, all the servers were friendly. The main reason why the line take me so long is each order is customized. You can order by piece (1 or 2 ribs, 1 or 2 slices of brisket, etc) and it's weighed or you can order by pound. If you get pork ribs, try not to get the last piece...there's no meat on it and you're essentially paying for the bone. You'll order from 3 different stations (sides, dessert then meats) I opted to skip the sides to focus on trying the different meats and a dessert. The dessert was the mistake. I got the banana foster by staff recommendation. It didn't have any chunks of banana and too much cinnamon. But the worst thing is getting sick from it. I'd probably come back to try the beef ribs and sides next time I'm in the area. The brisket was one of the best I've ever had. It was tender juicy and not too fat. The pork ribs were very tender except for the end piece which was a little dry. The sausage was OK, nothing special. The two flavors of BBQ sauce (sweet and original) were different but okay.

All three servers were attentive, kind, and helpful. We received water and coffee refills without asking. ALL AMERICAN We exerperienced this meal two different days. The potatoes are deliciously seasoned and crispy yet soft and fluffy. Hard boiled eggs were prepared perfectly and arrived hot. The chicken sausages were sweet and savory. The preserve was divine, well bodied, and high quality. The wheat and sourdough toasts were toasted just right where they were crisp and soft. TEXAS WAFFLE Worth a try! Crisp, fluffy, and perfectly texture and flavored waffle. Great size for sharing. The berries topped with were fresh. The fresh whipped cream was creamy and thick and refreshing. STEEL CUT OATMEAL This is a large portion and great for 2-3 people. The oats were cooked tender with the right amount of water content. The bananas and blueberries were fresh and ripe. The toasted coconut was browned well, flavorful, and crisp. The honey and hemp seeds(?) Were a great addition. FRUIT CUP All fruit were ripe and fresh: honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, pineapple. Crispy Chicken Wings Elected guajillo buffalo flavor. Great amount of heat and tang. Well-rounded flavor compared to a simple buffalo flavor. Accouterments in clouded fresh celery and Picasa. Smoky ranch was flavorful, not too rich, and a smooth consistency. Q Burger Elected a medium cooked burger. Very delicious, juicy, flavorful and balanced. All ingredients complimented each other. A burger lover would really enjoy this burger. AMBIANCE Very high ceiling. Open, fresh space. Surrounding sound was relaxing with the indoor river flowing next to the Q Kitchen. Cool climate control. Gentle country music low enough to hear and have a quiet conversation. Lights are lowered during late night dining.

Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I had it with smoked salmon and it really hit the spot. The service was polite and attentive. We're excited to return for our next visit

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.
