    Pulled Pork Sandwich
    Ronnie K.

Location is great. I did feel like the seating along the river is a little tight. There people at the table behind us kept bumping into me. And the bricks under the table were extremely uneven, which made our table not sit straight. Service was great, no complaints there. We ordered deep-fried pickles, the pulled pork sandwich and light brisket platter. Everything was good except the pulled pork sandwich, which I was very disappointed in. The sides with the brisket were a little bland. But the brisket was great!!

While you are in Texas you must have BBQ. Riverwalk worker recommended this place. I had a pulled pork sandwich loaded with pulled pork, and coleslaw. The only thing that was different, the coleslaw was in chunks not shreds. Flavor okay. Margarita came with a tumbler. Great for the price of $14. Outdoor seating, and the service was good. Place filled up quickly mid-afternoon.

So we were looking for some barbecue that was nearby and this location was close to us. While it didn't have the best reviews we decided to give it a chance We were seated inside, and I decided to have the loaded baked potato with pulled pork. Potato was great, pulled pork was really good even though I will say visually this is not what you think of when you think of pulled pork. Quite frankly when they first brought it out, I actually thought it was curry. My husband got the plate with ribs, lean brisket, pulled pork, and for sides, he got the collard greens and the potato salad. The brisket was pretty dry and the ribs had a weird seasoning to them, which he honestly just couldn't get past and didn't end up eating much of them. Pulled pork wasn't to his liking. He just didn't like the flavor of it . Collard greens are pretty good. They definitely had a lot of heat to them and potato salad was good although they are heavy on the dill pickle side. So overall, the food was not terrible, but was not the best barbecue we've ever had

Stopped by The County Line on the San Antonio Riverwalk and the atmosphere is definitely the highlight. It's right on the water and sitting outside makes for great people-watching -- perfect spot if you want to enjoy the Riverwalk vibe while you eat. The servers were friendly and welcoming, which added to the experience. We tried the fried pickles to start. They were spears instead of slices, which was a first for me. The flavor was fine, but the batter slid off pretty easily, making them a little awkward to eat. For my main, I ordered the light brisket plate with potato salad and coleslaw. The brisket was just okay -- a bit tough and came out cold. The sides were average and didn't really stand out. I also had a glass of wine, but nothing memorable there either. Overall, there are definitely better barbecue spots in San Antonio if you're looking for top-tier food. But for the Riverwalk location, friendly service, and fun atmosphere -- especially outdoors -- it's a solid option if you're prioritizing the view and people-watching over the meal.

I got the three meat plate - brisket, ribs, pulled pork, beans, mac 'n cheese, and the queso & chips appetizer. The only good things were the queso and chips & my server. The brisket is pale like it was boiled or something. The ribs were tough and chewy. The pulled pork was in some sort of disgusting liquid. The mac and cheese was mushy and the beans were horrible. I came here because Pinkerton's was closed due to it being Monday. Lesson learned.

Cool spot! I stopped here off the Riverwalk for dinner. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sausage; the sides were potato salad and mac and cheese. I was a little disappointed that the brisket was on the tough side. It had a noticeable smoke ring and great flavor. The sausage was good and had a little spice to it. The potato salad and mac and cheese were great. Service was quick and courageous and the prices were good, considering the touristy location.

This food was so dry. The brisket had no flavor, Cole slaw bland, sauces weren't that good.

What do I have to say about this place- 1st of all Manuel is very friendly and told us the best drinks to get. He always made sure we were good and our drinks never got empty. The menu has a lot of great items, but whatever you get it's always delicious. We loved the food & it was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was very lazy back and very quiet. Loved how clean it was and tables were not sticky at all!!! Definitely always a favorite for us and it never fails to amaze us!

Great BBQ at very good prices right on the Riverwalk. You can smell smoke. This is real deal BBQ. Husband & I had the platter and we both indulged and took some home. It was like $35. The drinks were good. The loaf of bread came out hot with soft creamy butter. The brisket was tender and didn't need sauce. The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. The sausage had a little kick and was the first meat we ate. So good. Highly recommend!!

They have salads and sandwiches back! The server struggled with simple words like "fries," but he was pleasant enough, if preoccupied with the table behind us. The turkey was moist and flavorful, but nothing was hot - the only detractor. We had mediocre experiences that few visits, but they have absolutely redeemed themselves!

Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

Boudros was highly recommended by friends, and was the first restaurant on our list to dine in during our recent visit. We arrived at the restaurant on a Thursday around 7:45 pm and were told by a young Hostess that no walk-ins were allowed until after 9 pm. We decided to modify our itinerary and instead had dinner at a different restaurant on the riverwalk, and made a reservation for Boudros online for the following evening. When we arrived the following evening for our reservation at 7.30 pm, we were escorted to a small table in the bar that was next to the entrance to a small room. The area was noisy with a lot of foot traffic. We asked for a table in a quieter room and were moved to a room in the back of the restaurant where it was easier to have a conversation. A few minutes later our waiter, Stephen, approached the table. We asked him for drink recommendations and among others he recommended the "Prickly Pear Margarita". I ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita, and we also ordered the tableside Guacamole. The restaurant was busy, but there were several empty tables in our dining area. After about 15 to 20 minutes, the waiter brought our drinks. The Prickly Pear Margarita I received was not even close to the description on the menu. The ice was melted and it tasted like Fruit Punch with alcohol in a martini glass. A few minutes later, Stephen approached our table with the Guacamole cart. There were pieces of onions and cilantro all over the dirty table cloth on the cart. He prepared the Guacamole in front of us and it looked very unappealing. We watched as he added an excessive amount of diced onions and cilantro. Being a connoisseur of Guacamole, and making my own for most of my life, it was obvious that Stephen had not been trained well in how to make Guacamole. After he mixed the sliced avocados, the diced onions and cilantro, he wiped the edge of the stone tray with a dirty cloth. The onions and cilantro over powered the taste of the avocado. Later that evening, Stephen brought a very fancy drink for a customer sitting next to us. The drink looked like frozen lime juice with line of frozen strawberry and a nice scoop of frozen lime juice on top. I asked Stephen for the name of that drink, and he replied that it was the same drink that I had ordered. I asked why it looked so different and he muttered something about it being the end of the batch and then said "I'm not the Bartender". He blamed the Bartender for making the terrible drink, and made no effort to correct the problem. Later Stephen returned with our dinner, and as he approached our table, he ordered my wife to "move your glass!" Needless to say she was quite taken aback at his abrupt manner with no please or thank-you. In all the staff did not have a very good demeanor and were very sullen and grumpy. Even asking for directions to the bathroom barely elicited a glance and the needed information. Maybe the staff was overworked because of the number of visitors for the Fiesta, but the terrible, over-priced food, did not make up for the unhappy staff, and we do not plan to return.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks.
