I was kind enough to send them an email last week about my experience, vs writing a bad review, but they never responded. I've been frequenting this place for years, moved away, moved back and there's lots of new people. The night in question, Antestasia was our bartender. Not sure what the world did to this girl. VERY, unfriendly and slammed everything she touched the whole time we were there. In addition she was extremely rude to her young helper, making it a bad experience for us. I told her how I felt, very politely when I left. She proceeded to get the helper, which stated "we are best friends". Sure, you are. Solo visit for dinner. Got pastrami on marbled rye and it was delicious. Substituted salad for fries (extra) and salad was really good! We called on the phone from across the street because we had our 85 year old grandmother with us. They said yes, there was an open table for 3. We get inside and no table. I asked the hostess what was up. She said two other groups beat you in here. Then she snottily says "you know there ARE other restaurants in town." WOW. JUST WOW. This was a welcomed stop for my son and I for a late lunch on our way to Reno from Paso Robles this past Thursday. We were so hungry I failed to take a picture of the burgers we got. My son got the Pineapple Express, and I got the Frisco Burger. We thoroughly enjoyed these delicious treats. I asked for crispy fries, and the chef simply nailed it all with perfection. They make the best drinks and work around my food allergies - and that takes a lot! We love sitting in the tall tables by the front windows to watch the town. 1st time here. Casey was great w/ attentive service & Recommendations. Food quality was good & served hot. Portion size was just right (no post COVID downsizing!). calamari was cooked perfect & quality tasted good. For main course - 5 shrimp on our main course was just & seemed fresh. While the food is pretty typical American cuisine, it's pretty loud inside and I prefer more quiet venues, but that's just my personal preference. Prices are also typical for the area. It's worth a try. They have some good salads, burgers and fish & chips. read more

The bar area is nice and the service was good. The restaurant is a bit on the cafeteria feel side but comfortable. I had the vegan beyond bowl. I'm giving 2 stars because they actually have a vegan entree unlike most restaurants in the area. However, I thought it was a joke. It was an unseasoned bowl of mostly sprouts with a cooked beyond meat patty. I kid you not when I say it was not seasoned... it was so sad. Spent the afternoon in Placerville enjoying the hustle and bustle of Christmas Shopping and decorations. Looked on Yelp For a place to eat and decided on Brick. We got their just in time, 600pm. Isaiah was out server and he was on point.. He had a good number of tables but kept us Moving. A bit slow to get our meals out from the kitchen, hence minus the star, but once it got going it was spaced very well and temperature appropriate. I asked for a wine recommendations to which Isaiah took it to the bartender. He stated he was not fully aware of the wine profile and wanted ro make Sure I was Given the right recommendations. I appreciated that as opposed to him Guessing. The first taste was brought but Was not quite my cup of wine so I told him I'd wait on it. He brought other selections on his own without being asked and I chose one that I would have never had tried. Good call Isaiah. Now to the food. Portions were excellent, flavorful, with an excellent selection. We ordered fried green tomatoes with grits, chicken wings with the BBQ Sauce and fish and chips. Nothing was left on the plates. Appetizers and Entree portions all big Enough to share and super Flavorful. F&C moist and not greasy which is a common fail for restaurants. Bravo Brick we will definitely be back. My wife and I were in Placerville for some wine tasting when we decided to try Brick's for dinner and boy were we glad we did. The place was packed but there were a couple of seats at the bar so we hopped on the stools and checked out the menu. Our appetizer, the lamb chops were out of this world delicious. They could have been the best I've ever had. I had the filet with shrimp, both were cooked to perfection. My wife had the chicken capellini which impressed the two of us. The service was fantastic and the prices were fair for what you got. Just based on the lamb chops alone, if we're ever in the area, we have our go to restaurant here. read more

The only reason I dot give this five stars is one what out of their control. Parking can be a hassle and if there is a wait the sidewalk is challenging depending on the size of the crowd. Came here on a Sunday around 11 AM. We were the first ones in the restaurant, but boy did it get packed after we were there. We were sat right away and our server brought out water to drink. We ordered a regular margarita and the Pomegranate Linen. Both drinks were super good. The PomegranateLinen had some hints of cucumber, which made it very interesting. For food, we ordered the BLTA and the El Paso Burger. Both items were super delicious. They came with fries and the fries were cooked perfect! I think they double fried? Came here yesterday on our way to Lake Tahoe and while the food was pretty decent the service was at the best 2-3 stars. From the minute we walked in till we left the wait staff didn't make us felt like they appreciated our business. For the food it was very middle of the road...I specifically asked the waitress if they cooked the burger spot on and she told me they are perfect every time. I ordered a medium to medium rare brunch burger and it was done done well past being dead. The Buffalo chicken dip had pretty good flavors but as you can tell it looked like they just threw some chips on a plate and the dip was pretty greasy. Only comment here is have some doing quality control before it hits the customers tables. I liked the concept of the place and will give it another try. They have a great beer, wine and cocktail menu but because of travel didn't partake but would like to on another visit. This historic building, made mostly of bricks, has a cozy, contemporary pub-like atmosphere with warm and friendly servers. It's the perfect place for a casual date night or family get togethers. We started our meal with cocktails and the fried green tomato appetizer. The drinks were well mixed and the fried green tomatoes had a tasty breaded crust. For dinner, we ordered the Reuben sandwich, shrimp pesto tortellini, and the fish and chips. Everything was delicious. The fish was a generous portion with outstanding crunch and flavor. For dessert, we shared a slice of delicious cake. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and dining experience. The bill was a bit of a shock since we've been getting used to HH deals at other establishments. I think Brick's HH is limited to only 3-4 pm M-F. read more

What a eye appealing town. I wanted to roam the streets to see The shops. We were going through the town to get to our river rafting trip and we had some extra time before we needed to meet up w/our raft. So we had lunch. We were sat right away. Our order: I had the Tuscan Chicken sandwhich that was excellent. EVERTHING IN THIS SANDWICH IS MY FAVORITE. Chicken, pesto sauce, provolone cheese, grilled onions & bell peppers and sun dried tomatoes. YUMMY!!! And the crunch roll just added another dimension to the sandwich. My tots was the perfect addition. Really enjoyed it. My husband had the Pastrami Rueben which he said was good. The marbled rye was light and the Pastrami was juicy. My son had a basic burger Which he thought the patty was properly seasoned. The fries were a little soggy. No dessert due to our time constraints. TIP: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TIME TO SPEND WONDERING AROUND. The artist is a photographer that has a gallery down the street from Brick. Wish we had more time to explore the town. Really understand how a business can have an off day or two and wanted to avoid writing such a review. However Bricks has left no choice due to their actions. My wife and I have had a few bad experiences at Bricks, including getting food poisoning in the years past. Unfortunately a friend, not knowing that, gave me a gift card at bricks for helping him move out of state last January. Thought, maybe we will try it again, but now.. in Aug.. the realization is that anytime we thought about going out to eat.. we simply did not want to go to Bricks with bad past experiences including service So finally went in to see what could be done with the gift card. Really wanted my friends online purchase to be refunded, but would have been ok with most any solution. Unfortunately, after going in twice trying to be extremely friendly and explaining "don't want to put down a small local business, but we just simply will not be using this gift card" and being promised communication from management, once even by a day "supervisor".. there was absolutely no attempt to get in contact. Finally, 3rd attempt, again.. explaining "don't want to publicly complain about a local small business" (being a long time business owner myself).. I received an answer. "Eat here, or simply let us keep the full value of the gift card without rendering service, no other option" I can't begin to explain the lack of professionalism.. as mentioned, there were several options that would not have cost them a dime, but not only do they try to duck communication but in the end, they were rude and simply had no desire to "make this right".. again.. at no cost to them. They preferred to maintain an unsatisfied customer. Terrible business with, some, terrible and rude people. read more

I've been going to Brick's for years. It's been one of my favorite places to eat in Placerville. It is not the same anymore. The service is no longer good. I was there tonight and a huge furry dog was allowed in and it was not a service dog. The dog ended up throwing up all over the floor behind us. We had Christmas eve dinner there! The food was excellent and our server, Carver, was superb! My only complaint is that it was freezing in there! We looked around and everyone had on jackets, hats and scarves. We actually made a game out of it. A party would walk in and take off their coats. Within 5 minutes every sweatshirt, coat, hat and scarf was back on! I hate being cold, therefore I probably won't go back :( read more
