I think that cheeseburgers are one of my favorite foods. And I just had a great cheeseburger at Bricks. The El Paso burger they called it. Cooked perfectly with pickled jalapeños fried onions and my favorite brioche bun. I thoroughly enjoyed this place good atmosphere good food craft beers. Oh yea and the sweet potato planks were bomb. The only thing that I would give a bad mark for was the size of the calamari appetizer. It was good just small portion for the price. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food as much as I did. My father in laws patty melt looked killer. Next time I'm in Placerville I will definitely be back to Bricks. read more

First time trying Bricks and glad we stopped in. Great atmosphere, very casual, good drinks and food choices. A gem for Placerville for sure. It was a bit noisier than I expected but it was a full house the whole time we were there... on a Monday! That in and of itself should say something. My husband had the BLAT and French fries and I tried it as well and it was delicious, fresh, perfect. I ordered the Darcy Burger with Sweet Potato planks- which were super tasty. My ONLY complaint.... and it's a big one, is the "Hot & Spicy" sauce on the Darcy burger. Being covered in Bacon Crispy onions, blue cheese, avocado- the flavor profile sounds amazing. Unfortunately the sauce tasted like nothing more than Buffalo Wing Sauce - a flavor I'm not a fan of in the first place and wish the menu mentioned this was Buffalo wing sauce instead. The worst part is the sauce drowned out the flavor of every single other ingredient in the burger. A total waste of ingredients since I couldn't taste anything but Buffalo Sauce. I will definitely be going back because I believe their food is inventive and tasty- but whoever came up with the Darcy Burger sauce --- big mistake. This place has awesome reviews but when we ate here for lunch, we were extremely underwhelmed. The drinks were expensive ($11.5/drink) and way too sweet. The jalapeño poppers were okay, but the middle of them were too cold. The rueben sandwich was a disappointment-the meat was tough and there wasn't even any sauerkraut on it!!! The medium cooked Darcy burger came out well done, the condiments made the burger cold. Nothing was good except service. $120 later and realized we would have been happier at In and Out. I always discounted this place because of the way it looked from the outside. This is the epitome of why you don't judge a book by it's cover! Go inside and you've stepped into a beautiful restaurant and bar area. Lots of exposed brick and concrete counters gives it a nice, trendy vibe without trying to hard. We sat at the bar to watch the football game and grab lunch/beers this time around. My oh my were we impressed. The bartender really helped us pick out some good beers for the winter season (plenty of craft brews on tap along with the absolutely delicious craft canned beer). If you're hungry, their menu is pretty extensive so get ready for some options (not Applebees amount of options but a good amount). I ordered the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) - if you love BLT's, this is your choice. They toast the sourdough bread perfectly, spread on a little cream cheese and then add in the bacon (the perfect amount), lettuce and tomato. I could not stop saying "OMG this is amazing" throughout my entire meal. I would eat it everyday if I could. Boyfriend ordered the Frisco burger with sweet potato planks and he really loved it as well (didn't have the When Harry Met Sally type reaction I did though - maybe I'm just dramatic haha). I love Brick's - it's definitely my go-to bar in the Placerville area. The food is great and the service is fantastic.Try the gangam tacos (did I spell that correctly?) and the salmon wrap, those are two of my favorite menu items.They have a variety of delicious cocktails and appetizers to choose from. My favorite part about Brick's, however, has to be sitting at the bar and getting recommendations on new beers to try -- they have a huge variety of new beers every week, many of which are from local breweries. Arrived Sunday eve aprox 430 . Seated and our waiter was Christian. We ordered a soda , beer , and my wife had water . We asked for some lemon as well. Drinks arrived but soda didnt. We then ordered and waited . About 10 min went by and soda still wasnt there . We asked Christian and he said he has another group to deal with so our service might be slow . We said ok and waited . Food arrived about 10 min later . Still no soda . I asked him again for the soda and he said im attending others right now. 5 min went by and still no soda . Its a small thing but when a waiter keeps saying hes attending others it makes you feel like you dont matter . Definetly poor service. Had to ask for more water 3 times . I poured mine into my wifes cup twice. Eventually soda arrived half way through our meal. I was going to have another Corona but felt it might take forever . To be told on 3 occasions that Im attending to others is like being kicked to the curb . Not the way I would expect me or my family to be treated at such a popular establishment . 1st time in and probably last . Food was good but thats about it . Went there on a Wednesday evening to get dinner. We arrived at 733pm and I know they close at 8pm. I wanted to order some food to go and I went there specifically to get the French onion soup since it was a stormy night. Knowing they close at 8pm I wanted to order food to go but when I arrived the gentlemen behind the bar stated I can order drinks but the kitchen was closed. Why advertise your business to open til 8pm if you don't honor the hours. I drove down from Somerset which is about 35 minutes away only to be turned away. I never understand why local businesses turn away the sale. I guess customer service only applies to the rush and prime days. Totally disappointed and I will not return as I have been a long term customer. I reached out to the manager but her number would allow messages so this is why I'm writing this bad review. read more

We asked them to leave the Feta cheese on the side; however, it was in the salad. The big downer was the BEEF TENDERLOIN MEDALLIONS. The sauce was lumpy, and the taste was that of a packaged sauce. Service is fast and quick. We ordered the spicy hot shrimp, bo peep burger, and the beets and cheese salad. Everything tasted great! The spicy hot shrimp comes with the garlic bread that had the right amount of seasoning. The ground lamb in the burger was perfect; it wasn't dry and reminded me of a mediterrean style burger. I have been to Brick's a couple of times before and have also had a great experience here! I always get the Blackened Salmon BLTA. There is probably about 4-5oz of salmon with crispy bacon, half of an avocado, and juicy tomatoes on a brioche bun. It usually comes with cream cheese, but I'm not a cream cheese fan usually. It is a really great and filling sandwich! The fries are good and you get a nice size salad too if you the healthier route. Family has also gotten the Santa Fe Melt, which has green chilies if you like those. It's a little pricey for lunch, but I'm not in Placerville often, so it's worth the cost for me. they also have a rotating selection of craft beers. I was trapped in this quaint town because of a storm and although it was raining/snowing the entire time I was there, I did need to go out and eat. The look of the place is clean and casual (the TVs are by the bar and not annoying). The drinks menu was written by a 19 year old girl (Hypnotiq or Watermelon Puckers, anyone?). I made things easy on our young waitress and just requested a bourbon and coke (the water that was added was their idea). The beer selection wasn't bad, but they were mostly out of everything. The burger was overcooked, but I suspect the cook was worried about under cooking the meat. They must have been conserving tomatoes because they were sliced so thin, it was like tomato tissues on the burger. I suppose that because it's a new place they aren't sure how much to buy of everything yet, or maybe they had trouble getting things delivered, but it's my understanding that this place was started by someone who already owns another restaurant there. If I ever find myself here again, I will take the locals advice and just eat at Heyday and Sweetie Pies. read more

We ordered fries and sweet potatoes fries with our meals and thought the sweet potatoes fries were a little lacking in flavor but the normal fries were delicious. We got two beers of course - one of them was blueberry and it was pretty yummy (tangy and sweet!) Overall, this was a great place that hit the spot on our way through California. Solid 3.5. I came in on a saturday for lunch with my mom while visiting town. The service was good, but busy and the food was good. The decor was interesting, but the TV distracting. I liked all the pictures around with scenes of the area, the colors and effects reminded me of washed-out portland. The bar area looked inviting, and the exposed brick added warmth to the space. We wanted a smaller lunch, and they had many options. My mom had the spinach cheese dip and really liked it. Apparently they use parm and mozzarella, so she might add that to her recipe. I had some Italian white bean soup and baked sweet potatoes. The soup was thicker than I was expecting, and the sausage was spicy, making everything a little too hot for me. I liked the way the potatoes were cooked, just tender with salt and crisp on the outside. The service was good, water filled and meals out quick. Our server was busy, so not sure what I was expecting, but left wanting more. We thought it was a bit pricey, but this is up in the foothills. I recently received some discouraging news and we felt like this unexpected kind gesture was a sign that there it's still hope/good out there. Serenity was our server she was very pleasant and attentive(especially considering how busy this place was). I give Serenity 5 stars as well great personality and recommendations! My boyfriend and I walked up and down Main St trying to find a brunch spot and we were so happy that we chose Brick's to enjoy our Sunday. We were able to sit inside which was such a relief because it's so smokey out. Amelia and Kendal both took really good care of us and the hostess was very pleasant. We ordered 2 Bloody Mary's that were delicious, I got mine mild and my boyfriend got his spicy. We also ordered the Hot & Spicy Shrimp that was really good, not too spicy, super flavorful with delicious soft cheesy garlic bread. We also got a traditional Caesar salad that was plenty for us to share. We ended it with the Mamarosa tortellini dish to share that also came with more cheesy garlic bread, was so delicious!
