This place has so much potential! Great food, great atmosphere, etc but the service was terrible. This was our first visit and when we walked in we stood at the front door without a greeting nor a sign saying seat yourself. I finally walked to an open table and asked someone who walked by if we could seat ourselves. The answer was yes so we took a seat. Right away a sweet blonde gal greeted us with a smile and asked us what we would like to drink. She made recommendations and did a great job. Then we sat for a while without further service. Finally another server came to take our order. My daughter ordered the wedge salad, my son got the kids hamburger and my husband and I shared the jalapeño burger and wedge salad. The food took over 30 minutes to come out. When I inquired about when it might be out I was told, soon. The server didn't really care to explain the situation nor did she care to offer us anything for our extended wait. Too bad. Just a small amount of care could have dissolved our frustration. Once the food arrived, we had no forks or knives. I asked the first server that walked by for some forks. She walked away to get them without an apology and came back without them. I asked her again for the forks and she walked away looking confused. But finally returned with silverware for our table. Meanwhile my son was almost done with his burger. Then I watched as a couple walked into this place and 2 servers walked past them and didn't even acknowledge them. I could tell they were confused about what to do as well. They then proceeded to walk out after waiting 5 minutes or so without any greeting. The bar tender seemed friendly but he also failed to acknowledge the people who walked in. It just seemed like no one really cared except the younger blonde gal that took our drink order. It's really too bad because the food was great! We live in Sutter Creek. A charming gem in downtown Jackson. Friendly, prompt service, though the younger adorable girl staff could use a bit more training. Everything I've had has been awesome, with the exception of the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer which had so much breading it was hard to tell what I was eating. It must come from an outside vendor and not a great one Other than that, the place has really great food, super fresh salads, great soups, awesome burgers, great beer selection! I've taken 4 girlfriends for lunch - all from Pine Grove, Pioneer, Buckhorn, etc. And they all plan to take their husbands back for lunch or dinner. read more

I have been to this Pub style restaurant many times since it opened. It's a great addition to downtown Jackson. They offer a good food menu and usually have a fair selection of different style beers offered. I have had a few of their sandwiches & burgers and can honestly say I have not been disappointed. I am so disappointed in this place! I came all the way from Sacramento for my dads bday, even called ahead to make sure there would be a table. When we got there they had three four top table with two people at them and proceeded to tell us that they couldn't push two, two top tables together. We came in for dinner around 7PM and the place was busy. We ordered drinks and got them timely. They have a good wine and beer menu. We ordered dinner and we waited 1hour and 15 minutes! The waitress was apologizing but my complaint is if she would have told me ahead of time then I could have made a decision whether I wanted to wait that long. I just ended up getting very mad and anxious that it was taking so long. They knew it was busy and they knew if they were understaffed so they need to communicate that. Besides that, the Patty Melt was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the Taco Salad. I will probably give it another shot because the food was good. read more

What a great place! As we were walking in there was live music playing one of my favorite songs so I couldn't help but walk in dancing! We ordered the steak sandwich and a pastrami sandwich to split and they were both amazing but the steak sandwich was out of control. So amazing! The fries were nothing to write home about either, an order of onion rings was about a 1/4" of breading w/a miniscule sliver of onion inside. As regard the service, waitress was reaching across us to serve drinks instead of serving each person from their respective side. After a few minutes we figured it was a seat yourself type of restaurant. A waitress came and cleared the table we sat at and said she'd be back to take our order. The waitress did come back, but then informed us we couldn't sit at that table because someone else was there before us. She told us we could go sit at a different table. The table she told us to sit at had not been bussed and there was half eaten plates and empty drink cups. We sat down anyways. We sat there for 10 minutes and no one even came to our table or spoke another word to us. Our table remained dirty and we got up and left without anyone saying another word to us. Stopped for lunch and split a Blue Burger with potato salad with a couple of beers. The burger was just delicious and had a good char with lots of blue cheese. When we asked our server if the the potato salit was good she said, well we make it here. Not really answering the question, but it turned out to be very good. Our server seemed a little punky at first, but she was very nice and pleasant through the rest of our meal.
