My soon-to-be mother-in-law ordered the pork chops, and they were absolutely amazing--tender, flavorful, and practically melted in your mouth. We had the regular pho, and it was delicious as well. First of all, the food is incredible, especially considering that this restaurant is located in the whitest of white towns ever I always get the C2 meal (pho with rare beef slices), and every time it is absolutely delicious. The interior of the restaurant is lovely; clean and sturdy wooden tables with a nice, cushiony bench lining one side of the wall, peaceful instrumental music, natural light from large windows, and gorgeous, healthy indoor plants. A spacious, clean restaurant that my friends and I found to be a great lunch spot on our way back to San Francisco. Wonderful service, and we appreciated that they covered the windows to prevent the restaurant from getting too hot. My husband and I have been here a few times and every time the food is good. The bun bo hue is our new favorite item to get here. You can ask for a side of chili oil or it comes with chili oil, so be ready for some heat! The service is fast and they are attentive to water refills. It's the perfect cozy local spot for us if we are not keen on driving to Sacramento for Vietnamese food. We have yet to try the rice plates but we would love to in the future. My friends wanted to try this place out since they just opened. So went there yesterday for lunch. It wasn't busy so it was nice to be able to be seated quickly. The ambiance was really cute and friendly, as well as playing some quiet music. They have a promotion on free sodas until the end of October which was nice to hear. So we ordered our food. And lemme just say that my chow mein was good and my friends loved their Pho so much! The egg rolls were so good, I wanted more but I got full. We are definitely coming back here more often! The reason for a 4 star review was because the waiter didn't fill my water at all after checking in on us a few times, so I had to ask. I know I know, I shouldn't be so hard on them since they just opened but it's constructive criticism and to help them improve on their service. This place is one of my husband and I's favorite restaurants! Besides their delicious food, their customer service is always so great and so welcoming. Deon has been greeting us and serving us the past few times and he is great!! The place is always very clean and the kitchen is usually very prompt with our food, even if they're super busy. Our favorite go-to on the menu is the A10 appetizer (spicy fish sauce garlic chicken wings) SO good. And our main courses are usually the C2 (rare steak pho soup) and C8 (spicy lemongrass beef soup). I called in an order it was a couple minutes before they opened and they answered and took my order. My husband picked it up a few minutes after they opened. This is my second time coming to this establishment and each time has been great! Grew up eating a lot of pho and going to a bunch of different pho locations so this place is legit. The owner used to own and manage a pho restaurant in the Sacramento area but retired and closed it down. He is now out of retirement and running this restaurant now. This time around, we ordered the rare steak and beef ball pho, fried egg rolls, and crispy squid. All items came out fast and were all hot and tasty. The pho here always hits the spot - the broth is flavorful and clean. The location is prime as it is in the Safeway plaza so tons of parking, gas station near by, and other restaurants in the vicinity. Inside is clean and the service was great! I will say, this place is a little pricy for pho compared to other pho restaurants but it is still worth the pay since this is the only pho joint in Amador County. read more

Unrelated to him, the overlapping music is more concerning. --- We love this place. The food is fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced. The staff is pretty friendly, but not fake. The teenager is on his phone a lot so it takes a bit to get your bill if he's working, but it's not bad. The atmosphere is good but not anything special. The worst thing is that they sometimes forget to fully turn off the building speakers so you end up listening to overlapping music when they play their Bluetooth speaker over the other. Kind of mind numbing in a charming way of that makes sense. We go here anytime we're nearby and you should too. read more

After a scenic drive from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe, we stopped at a small Vietnamese restaurant and had this amazing bowl of pho. I have been eating pork bahn mi for the last 30 years all over Sac County and had never had such a strange tasting bahn mi before. 1 litttle sprig of cilantro, 2 little slices of jalapeno, no flavor of pickled dicon or carrots. Left a very odd flavor in your mouth 20 minutws after eating it. Was there at about noon thru the week and the place was empty with no lunch crowd at all. The staff is friendly and fast, but....This place advertises Vietnamese food and has potential but falls flat. We ordered two vermicelli plates and a bahn mi to go. When I got home, My vermicelli had a live fly under the shrimp, only three shrimp and had, literally, one piece of daikon. Their fish sauce for the vermicelli is disgusting!! It is only shrimp, lettuce, bean sprouts, and rice noodles. They need to add some herbs like mint, cilantro, and green onion, but I will still go back for my sandwich! I really don't get all the great reviews for this restaurant. I spent $20 for a large Pho. Already 4 or 5 dollars more than went a large costs any other restaurant but with half the portions. Sure the broth is plentiful but that's about it. Besides the insanely large amount of noodles. Very small portion of actual meat. Even the amount of scallions, cilantro and basil they give you is miniscule. And one tiny pack of sriracha and a one tiny pack of hoisin. For a large? Basically paid $20 for broth and noodles. The chicken pho is my go-to meal here, and is so delicious . Tonight I thought I'd try something different and had the spicy lemongrass beef pho. I'm so glad I did.
