I received a job offer from this restaurant and I had bought a brand new hat before I arrived for my first day of work. I have very curly hair that I inherited from my ethnic grandmother. As soon as I walked into the door and went to meet the owner, before I can shake his hand he spits out "I am not letting someone with hair like THAT into my kitchen." He said my hat was unacceptable and refused to offer me a hairnet. He turned me away on the spot, in front of majority of his employees. Any possible racial bias aside, the owner is horrendously rude and if he was willing to harass a new hire the way he did I can only imagine how he treats the rest of his employees. I would also like to point out that I only saw white employees working. The owner, is simply, an asshole and if you are a person of color or simply don't want to support an asshole. Don't eat here. read more

Cool place, great for families and adults. Gorgeous bar, great beer. This is a win win for everyone

Saturday afternoon, a couple of friends and I went to Jackson - we walked around old downtown and came to the, " Brickhouse Brews." We walked in and ended up at the bar for a beer and lunch. We met, " Jessica," - the Manager and," Brian," the bartender - both were very friendly! We ordered, " Blue burger," - requested a Lettuce Wrap instead of bun with side salad and French dip with side salad. All food was awesome and cooked to desired temp. We all had a beer - "liquid gravity Miami" - awesome taste. We also met the owner, " Jerry," whom we chatted with for a few minutes- awesome guy ! If your in the area - stop in and check this place out !! read more

Food was outstanding. They serve swingles meat, which is a high quality local butcher. Service was attentive and I had a really good beer as well. My wife raved about her steak sandwich. Go there its good. read more

Brickhouse Brews - French Dip Burger... - Bars Near Me - Jackson, California

Best burger in town, good sides, good brews. Wish they had a full bar but not a big deal. They've got some fun specials as well.

We have been to this restaurant a few times now. The food is excellent. The meat is from Swingles meats, so they are the best!

Visiting from Jackson Rancheria rv resort. This was our 3rd time over this last year dining there. Our server , an older woman with long hair served our husbands first as we finished up shopping . Once we sat down our greeting was more like , oh two more ? When asked to explain one special burger she acted annoyed and simply said it has sliced beef on it . Offered more water or beer to 3 of us but ignored the fourth guest . Asked for a box for half my sandwich and she lightly tossed it on the table versus handing to me . Flies were all over our food and restaurant front door remained open as air conditioner may have not been working . Never going back !!! read more

I was disappointed compared to my previous visits. we are arrived and after five minutes, we asked if we could have a table. It wasn't too busy. It seemed like the one server could care less. We ordered ice tea with sweetener and never got sweetener. We returned the tea because it had no flavor and you could tell by the color. The bartender made a face like really. There were three of us at the table. our beer sat on the counter while waitress served a table that ordered after us. The food was pretty good. I'll have to think about whether I will return or not. I'm up there almost every weekens. read more

Went to Brickhouse Brews during Dandelion Days before heading up Highway 88 to Nevada. What a good choice it was! The place was packed but the service was still better than I would have anticipated. We had Skye who helped our every need. She recommended our food and drinks perfectly and provided us with a great atmosphere to enjoy our lunch. Also I must say...her fashion sense is out of this world! Thank you Skye and Brickhouse Brews! read more

Brickhouse Brews - The deep fried green beans were delicious! Paired with the perfect beer - Bars Near Me - Jackson, California

Amazing food. Even better people. Their burgers are fabulous! 1/2 lbs... perfectly cooked... and served on homemade buns with a range of side options. They also have a wide range of incredible beers and wines. As for atmosphere, it's very spacious with exposed brick and wood. If you want to have a private meal with maybe 10 - 15 people, they have a nice back nook where you can have your own fun, slightly separated from the rest of the ta. Overall, it's an incredibly welcoming place for a great lunch or dinner. read more

My friend and I were out sight seeing in the foothills, and after visiting Indian Grinding Rock State Park, we stopped into Jackson at Brickhouse Brews. We both had the French Drip and were so glad we did! It was delicious! Seasoned just right, with a lot of meat and the au jus was perfect! Great place to stop by for a beer & sandwich. The fries were really good, too and even though we weren't "locals" we received great service, which isn't always the case in small towns. read more

Great spot on Main Street in Jackson. I'm not a craft beer person, but they have a wide variety. The food, though, is very good. I've had the BLT and Jalapeño Burger. Can't go wrong with either and I'm sure everything else is solid. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. read more

Wow this was hands down the best place in town. My French dip was the best! I was here two weeks ago and I'm still talking about the food! Can't wait to go back! read more

Always the best service and good food... especially when they have a special. Love the atmosphere and small town vibes.

On our final leg of our 5,000+ mile journey, and stopped here for lunch. Old town is very refreshing and love the ambience there. The service was great and food was delicious. I would come back and try other items on the menu along with some beer that looked very tempting. read more

So awesome to sit in a bar, enjoying a few beers and a basket of wings! I can't get enough of those Dirty Blondes! Very attentive bar tender (Skip?) and the most gorgeous Pearl Diver I've ever met! I can't wait to go back. Totally worth the drive! read more

They always have a fairly decent selection of craft beers available on tap. It does get packed in there on the weekends right around dinner time but pretty safe if you go before or after. Been in there several times and this is one place were I absolutely love to get french fries. If you go you have to try their pesto fries it is a must! I must say my French dip sandwich is different than when it's been before in the past, it's supposed to come with grilled onions but I think they left it out this time. It was just ok, the meat really lacked flavor. Husband always gets either chicken sandwich or the jalapeño burger and the last few times there hasn't been enough seasoning on the burger. Gave 4 stars for being a good little hometown place with great french fries. Hopefully they give a little more attention to the flavor of the meat in the future. read more

Brickhouse Brews - What's on tap changed frequently. - Bars Near Me - Jackson, California

Oir first time eating due to positive reviews and was so happy we came here to eat! Being from the Bay Area it was refreshing to see employees who care and have home-made, owner recipes used to put on the menu. The food was great. We had chicken hamburgers and the prime rib. Wish we had a restaurant like this close by. Jerry, thank you for saying hi and sharing the love you have for your second home, sometimes your first I'm sure. read more

We've been driving through this town for years and passed right by the old timey downtown that has a 1849er feel to it. Brickhouse Brews is one of the gems in this quaint little town. Easy to get to with parking close by. It too has an old feel to it, like it's been there for decades. Wood and brick all around like I would imagine was the norm in the 1800's. There are many beers on tap and they aren't the big name ones either. The beer was fresh and delicious. I ordered the Bleu burger and onion rings. Unfortunately I had to order the gluten free bun which is never as good as the regular bun. Definitely not the Brewhouse's issue. Anyway, besides the bun everything was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly and the onion rings were delicious. Now that we know this place is here, it will be our normal stop after a day at Kirkwood. read more

We stopped in for lunch. We sat at the bar. A couple sat down next to us about 5 minutes after we arrived. At this point we had not been acknowledged. The new couple were greeted instantly and waited on. We were still ignored! My husband tried to get someone's attention and he was told she couldn't help him. At that we decided to walk out! Apparently if you are not a local you don't get served!! Tourists are what keep these towns open. I will not recommend this establishment to any of my friends! read more

Went here last night for dinner as we were in town on our way up to Volcano. Burgers were very good & cooked well. We also ordered the loaded tots as an appetizer. We enjoyed the food & service was great. Skye was our server & she did a wonderful job taking care of us. A welcome local spot for some burgers & relaxing. My wife ordered the Blue Burger on a GF bun & I had the Jalapeño Burger. We will be back again. Thank you BHB! read more

Cute little restaurant on Main St in Jackson. Great selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, entrees, craft brews and wine. Best kids menu I've ever seen. Live music on Fridays. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the music during dinner was so loud that we couldn't hear each other to talk. The musician was excellent, just really loud. read more

Good selection of local brews, heavy on the IPAs. The wine list featured perhaps 2 each of local varietals, with less than half dozen local wineries represented. Our bartender was friendly and attentive, but much more knowledge about beer than wine. The space itself was great, an old brick building with high ceilings, lots of sun and fresh air, and plenty of space. Dinner was very American, as advertised. Unimaginative, but fresh and well prepared. The rib eye, which I split was a friend, was plated split from the kitchen for an extra couple of $$ - good steak, cooked to order, fresh veggies. Salads were heavy on iceberg and pretty standard ingredients and dressings. Fresh bread would have been a welcome addition but wasn't offered. All in all, good but not great, with a great setting an atmosphere. I will definitely go back. read more

We visited my parents who were spending one night at the Jackson Rancheria RV Park and we all decided to go to lunch. Most of the places in Jackson were closing in 20 minutes but Brickhouse was still open and had great Yelp reviews! We were able to find parking on the street and it was nice to walk to check out the cute shops on our way to eat. We were able to get a table right away and the waitress brought out menus and waters right away. We ended up ordering a burger, loaded tater tots, a salad, and some delicious drinks! The burger, tots, and drinks were fabulous but the salad fell a bit short. Overall I would recommend Brickhouse if you wanted a quick delicious bite to eat.. just skip the salad. :) read more

Stopped here on my way to Mono Lake to get a burger, a beer and to watch the Warriors get creamed in Game 4 (although their getting creamed wasn't part of the original plan). I was disappointed they didn't brew their own beer, but their selection was almost all local craft beer - all is forgiven. The service was friendly and the beer was good. The burger was good, but would have been better if their homemade buns weren't so heavy. Basically a burger on a ciabatta, the bread was dense and overwhelmed the patty. The star of the night, though, (other than Lebron James, that is) was the potato salad. On the drier side (my preference), this was a very flavorful side, and I wished the portion was twice the size. Anyway, the game was bad, and I had many miles to go. I left at halftime without getting a second flight of beers. The loss was mine. read more

Hangin out on Main Street today and decided to come in for a snack. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was chill. I had the best chicken taquitos ever here (the homemade salsa needs some work), my son had some delicious onion rings and my daughter said her chicken wings were really good! I'd say this is a great place to come relax for a bit while hangin out in Jackson. I'll come back later to try the beer. read more

I ordered a burger then the waitress informed me that they're out of burgers and I'd have to order a sandwich because they're not serving dinner yet so I ordered a cod sandwich as soon as I ordered it another waitress walked to the front of the house and put up the closed sign so I'm guessing they were out of dinner also , I didn't have a long wait for my cod sandwich but one bite and I knew why , it was a wedge shape kids frozen fish stick and my fries were little bits and pieces that were hard . That was a $17 meal ! In the middle of eating another waitress came by our table and asked if she could take our ketchup because she wanted to wash them all because they were disgusting from the number of customers since the last time they were cleaned ! read more

Walked in on a Thursday night about 7 and it was packed, I had to wait for a seat. Right there I knew it was going to be a good dinner. Lucky for me I got to sit at the counter/bar, where I ordered the house red wine and the 12 oz Ribeye steak dinner with baked potato and veggies. The red wine was excellent even though it was just the house red. It turns out Brickhouse Brews not only sells artisan beers, it also supports local wineries. I recognized beers on tap that were from my hometown in So Cal, but I'd never heard of the house red, from Binz Winery of Amador County, and will look for it down here now that I'm back home. My ribeye was delicious, rare just as I asked for. The baked potato looked like a crusty little loaf of bread, sprinkled with rock salt on top. Delicious and creamy with lots of fresh butter. The veggies were sautéed nicely with just a little bit of crunch left to them. Very good. I was having such a fun time talking to people at the bar that I ordered a "Snow Globe" in addition to my dessert (the berry sorbet). The Snow Globe is a round glass filled with champagne and a scoop of the homemade berry sorbet floating on top. Delicious and dangerous! The homemade sorbet (made "by Kelley and Kyra") was a perfect blend of tart and sweet and I enjoyed it very much. The people behind the counter are super friendly, perhaps because I was a solo patron they wanted to take care of me. I felt comfortable right away. This was the best meal I had in Jackson. Heck, on my entire trip. read more

It's a sad day when you have to write a negative review, and today is one of those days. I'm always rooting for small family run places to do well, but sometimes there seem to be struggles that prevent places from success. You need to know that my rating is based on the fact that we never got to taste their food. We were most of the way home on the Fourth of July weekend from Paso Robles, and we were, capital H, Hungry. After a quick review of our options on Yelp, we decided to go with the 'hot and new' hamburger place in Jackson, and I don't think we were alone. As we walked in they were clearing a table and we were able to sit almost immediately. We were then offered water, and it was great water. We then ordered our food, had three more glasses of water each, and didn't hear about the progress of our dinner (a burger and a French dip). As we enjoyed our three glasses of water we began to get more interested in the flow of food out of the kitchen, and it appeared to be slow for everybody. We were not alone. One table had food stagger out in multiple shifts, several minutes apart. While sitting there the bar filled up, people were sitting at tables in which the chairs had been imported from the bar, and so picture in your mind two gentlemen whose knees were bumping the top of the table in which their dates were seated. I'm sure they grabbed our chairs as soon as we left, as they matched what they needed and the only had to move them about 15 feet. Another factor for you to consider would be that it is a very nice space. It feels a bit like you're stepping back in time. Know that it is loud, but, for me, that's fun sometimes, but in a capital H situation, it makes things worse. A drawback that will be a bit tough for them has to do with parking. It's not easy, as there is limited street parking. We got lucky. So, after 30 minutes, four glasses of water, and no word on our food, we let the waitress know to cancel our meal, that we had to eat sooner....and out the door we went. Is there advice to offer? I'm not an expert, but they did not seem prepared for the volume of customers they had on this Saturday night. They may need to develop a reservation system, a podium with an attendant to let folks know how the night is evolving, if they have enough food (we did get to witness an employee arriving with multiple bags of what appeared to be groceries), and possibly develop a lead person who can mix with the customers to explain why, after 30 minutes, the food ordered was nowhere in sight. I might try them again, but I'll follow my tried and try method of assessing yelp success. That means I need a significant number of reviews that evolve into a consensus of the success of the place. I wish them well, but we left disappointed and with the need for a bigger font to describe our capital H. read more

This is my favorite spot in downtown Jackson. I enjoy sitting at the bar when I am alone or with someone else and have also enjoyed the table-seating with groups larger like 4-6. During my last visit, we enjoyed our beers at the bar with some food and live music. The atmosphere was welcoming, friendly, and evenly-lit. What to wear? Stick to dresses, jeans, boots, etc. read more

The staff were very friendly and inviting.I got a killer burger and my wife and daughter split and amazing chicken sandwich. If you're in the area it is definitely a spot to check out. Let's be honest. This is Jackson, CA. I've been coming here ever since I was a child. It has changed a lot but it is still Jackson, CA. That being said, this place is an amazing delight and a direction I hope to see more from Jackson. My brother and I stopped here while shopping for Christmas. I got their Chicago style hot dog and my brother got BHB burger. He loved the burger. The hot dog was great. We split the onion rings and pesto fries. Oh the pesto fries. You have to try those. They are totally worth the $2 upgrade. This is a must place to visit if you're coming through. The place was clean. The staff was friendly. The food was a hot and delicious. read more

Located in the heart of historic old town Jackson, this is a great pub! They had a lot of good brews on tap and a good selection of items on the menu, including salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken and steaks to choose from. There's plenty of room in the old brick building and one can choose to sit at the bar, regular tables or high top tables. We came in for lunch on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. The food was great! I had a BLT with pesto fries and hubby ordered a cheese burger with a salad. Paired with a couple of brews, we were very satisfied! The ambiance was fitting for an historic old building and the service was good. read more
