The fried chicken sandwhich and autumn salad were on point. Really enjoyed the buttery bun and crispy chicken. Kinda similar to chicfila except with some extra pizzazz in the sandwhich. The salad was fresh, and I always enjoy the combination of goat cheese, berries, and nuts. We also had a batch of cookies for dessert, and they were very good as well.
First time eating downtown for lunch and was wanting a sandwich so I landed here. This place is order at the front and seat yourself kind of place so it was very laid back which I appreciated since I was by myself. There's plenty of seating at the bar and at tables. Service was great as everyone was super nice and my sandwich came out fast. The sides for the paninis are basically just salads rather than typical fries or chips but I really enjoyed mine so wasn't too disappointed with that. My turkey Reuben panini was really good as well. This place is a tad more pricey than I typically like for a lunch spot but it is downtown so it's probably comparable to other places in the area.
Brick and Tin still has the same great food and service. I went in for a quick lunch and it was just as good as it has always been.
This is one of my favorite spots in the city for a mid work week lunch! If you work at the hospital or in downtown, this is a great place to grab a bite with coworkers. They have a menu that features paninis, bowls, and salads, so there is sure to be some thing that pleases everyone. I had the brisket Panini, which was delicious. The brisket was flavorful and tender, and the bread was soft and fresh. Would highly recommend! The service is fast and friendly, so perfect for a quick lunch run. And bonus that the interior is well decorated and with a shady outdoor patio to enjoy good weather. The only thing to take away from Brick & Tin is the notorious trouble with downtown parking. But it's worth it!
I had lunch here during my workday and I loved it! The turkey melt was awesome. The apple butter on it is a bit different but definitely good. The people here were nice and I like the feel of the place. Brick & Tin seems to be a good choice for something that is relatively healthy and tastes great. The food came out pretty quick. Decided to stop by this place for lunch. First let me say I love the renovations! I love the open concept with the clear chairs and the full bar. Second let me say I have been by for lunch at least three times since they have renovated and decided to finally write my review. I cannot be more impressed with the fast service and quality of food as well as the friendly staff. For my recommendations I highly recommend the butternut squash soup and honestly any of the salads. You will not be disappointed!
This place is a great concept and works extremely well for a nice lunch spot. Its located very close to a lot of corporate buildings, and the food comes out quick enough to grab a quick lunch here with friends/co-workers. The service: The lady taking our order was pleasant, and our food came out after about 10 minutes which is pretty quick in my opinion. The food: Yep this place is amazing as everyone says. The brisket sandwich actually melts in your mouth with how high quality the ingredients are. The side salad you can get with it is delicious and I honestly hate salads. I highly recommend the brisket sandwich with a side of the white BBQ sauce for dipping. For $11 this sandwich is worth every penny and then some. Overall, if you are close by and want to grab a delicious and quick lunch don't hesitate to come here!
Why 5 stars? Because this was about as good as it gets when it comes to a sandwich. --- --- --- I landed in Birmingham, and as is usually the case, a flight works up my appetite. Will B mentioned Brick & Tin as a possible destination for said hunger, and I was sold. Sandwiches have about a 97% success rate at causing happiness within me, and this was no exception. The only problem is that I wasn't sure which sandwich to go with, until I realized that I had missed the most obvious choice ever - the brisket sandwich with white BBQ sauce. Done. Sold. Deliberation over. I also opted for the corn chowder, which was absolutely delicious. And the sandwich was just as wonderful. The only thing I quickly noticed that it was missing was more white bbq sauce. I headed back up to the counter to grab an extra side of it, which I can't recommend enough. As great as the meat and sauce were, the bread of the sandwich was so soft and flavorful. I don't understand why sandwich shops don't invest more time and energy into assuring that their bread is at the top of its game. Brick & Tin is a true role model within its craft.
This charming place was AMAZING! You place your order and pay as you walk-in the door, a plan that works well because by the time you sit down, your drink is being placed on your table. They have a full bar and a nice small selection of craft beer on tap or in bottles. Your water is served in an old fashion decorative bottle with a cap on it that adds a nice touch. The decor is clean. With clear plastic chairs that I found fun and "funky". Important note if you sit at the bar there are plugs for phones and double coat hooks for purses. . The Food was delicious, two of us shared our plates with eAch other. We had the BLUEBIRD SALAD, and a Brisket Panini with a side of butternut squash soup. The best way to describe how fabulous the fOod was is to say that EVERY BITE WE TOOK we murmured Yum or "Oh My"! Both meals were perfect to the end!
*Late post* I really had been wanting to come here for awhile. So, two weeks ago some friends and I came here for the first time for lunch , around noonish; never ever a good idea , right?! Parking was fun and interesting! We found a space pretty easily and nearby but getting into the space was not my finest parallel parking job! Thankfully, the owner of the car in the space in front of us left , so it made the parking job a little less embarrassing! Whew, glad we got that out of the way! A few steps away , we arrived at brick and tin and it was packed! No surprises there! It's peek lunch time , it's a Friday and it's downtown Birmingham! After we decided on what we were going to order , we turned into some table stalkers bc seating is first come first serve. We didn't have to wait long for something to come available so this was GREAT! Without too much of a wait , our food arrived. I ordered the smoked brisket sandwich and a classic side salad. I really enjoyed my sandwich! The brisket was very tender and juicy! The sandwich had caramelized onions , bbq sauce , cheese and was served on a sourdough bread. However , I wasn't too ,too thrilled with the side salad . Way too much ranch like dressing for my liking. This salad was made up of iceberg lettuce ,shredded cheddar cheese, tomatoes and croutons. It actually reminded me of a salad from my childhood. This was neat and it wasn't horrible but certainly not something I would have to have again. Brick and Tin isn't a really big space at all but it sure packs a lot of character within those walls. This place really does have that big city vibe and charm. Also , it certainly adds to the downtown scene , which I love! Our server was nice to keep our water bottle filled with fresh water. We needed a to go box so he was able to quickly get that for us so we could get back to work . I think we actually had 8 mins to spare once we got back to the car! Since brick and tin is now opened for dinner at this location , I plan to return to experience more of this amazing atmosphere and of course to explore more of their menu items! Overall, this was a great treat for lunch and well worth the time! I can mark this one off my food bucket list!
A nice quiet spot to have a great meal with farm fresh ingredients, homemade breads and tasty sandwiches. I went with the brisket panini and side salad. Both were so good and generous portions that left me full. Wife got the turkey and Swiss and raved about the sourdough bread and how fresh it tasted. This was during lunch so we didn't get drinks but their cocktails sounds great (peach Old Fashioned and espresso martini to name a few) so I'd like to come back for dinner sometime and try some of those. Perfect spot for a relaxing lunch downtown. read more
Great service and delicious food. It's always busy during lunch but came for a late lunch on the weekend and it was very chill. Great atmosphere and 10/10 hospitality from everyone working there. Would definitely recommend. read more

If Brick & Tin has no fans then I am dead... I typically go to the location in Mountain Brook, but stumbled in here last week for lunch. I was craving the farro salad. It was a slam dunk, as usual. The smaller size of the salad has always been enough to fill me up. I typically add chicken, but I branched out for the brisket this time. The brisket here is incredible, order the brisket sandwich if it's your first time here. I'll stick with chicken on the farro salad next time tho, definitely not the intended pairing. I love coming here for that salad because it makes me feel hashtag healthy. Love a fast-casual vibe for lunch. The staff here was super efficient and kind. I've never had anything bad from here. The soups are outstanding. read more

Came here with a few friends for lunch. Although there is no official dress, it definitely feels more like a nice shorts or long pants sort of place (I had just gotten out of a test and was dressed like trash and felt like I stood out a bit.) Nevertheless, feel free to wear whatever you want. I ordered a chicken panini with a side of their rosemary soup. I really enjoyed both. The chicken was tasty and also cooked very well. The bread, although looked stiff, was actually a nice crunch with a nice soft underside. The soup was a great touch in between bites. This was my first time here and I'll definitely be back to try some of their plated dishes! read more

This place exceeded my expectations! Couldn't ask for a more refreshing lunch. Usually when ordering a bowl and any other place you get a lot of carbs and pointless food. But this was jam packed with veggies, nuts and an amazing sauce. Salmon was cooked beautifully and the veggies where nice and fresh. I would recommend outdoor seating during lunch, no sun during those hours and it's a great setting in downtown Birmingham! read more
Finally visited Brick & Tin downtown for the first time today and I now understand all the hype. This is a small place with a little café atmosphere downtown (although they do have a full bar) and a small but HIGH QUALITY menu of soups, salads, and paninis, plus a few large plate options. Went with 2 friends and we all got different paninis, each one super different but DELICIOUS. Everyone couldn't stop raving about their meals. I got the brisket panini, I'm not gonna be able to stop thinking about it. It was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor was honestly ridiculous. TRY THIS SANDWICH! Will definitely be coming back to check out the rest of the menu! read more

A few work friends and I decided to go here on a Wednesday for lunch last week. I had heard (and read) many wonderful things about this place, so I was super pumped when my friends suggested it. We arrived, and I when I walked in was already overwhelmed. The place was packed!! People were standing around waiting for others to get up and leave so they could take their spot. I followed my friend's lead and we headed to the counter in the back. I grabbed a menu and decided on the Brisket panini -braised beef brisket, caramelized onions & white bbq on pain de lie flatbread. I also ordered a side of cauliflower soup. After we ordered, a staff member helped us locate a table and we sat down and waited. Pretty soon our food came out and it all looked delicious. The panini was filled with plenty of beef, but it was lacking on sauce. The soup was the star of plate - super smooth and delicious. Because of the small space and crowd, it was extremely difficult to each other over the table, and I felt we were yelling at each other just to be heard! By the time we left, we were able to talk at a normal tone, but just know if you go for weekday lunch! read more

Brick & Tin is super cute inside! I love the décor. My vegetarian daughter is a HUGE fan, so it's good for vegetarians. We enjoyed a "day off" together and I had the Brisket Panini with a side dish comprised of a wheat product, (I don't think it was quinoa, but don't remember), mixed with fresh, seasonal veggies. The side dish was REALLY good, fresh and delicious!! The Brisket was not "to die" for, but it was good. They have a super-tightly edited menu and I think the sides change almost daily. We split a nice, dry white wine and enjoyed cold waters. It's counter service, but they do bring your dishes to your table and remove them. You order at the rear of the restaurant. The restrooms were clean. The ladies working were really friendly and there was a good sized crowd for a Friday. Not a bad spot for a nice lunch. TIP: The high tops at the back of the restaurant are SUPER high off the floor, I nearly busted my rear climbing out of the stool to refill our waters. Ha! That would have been embarrassing! read more

Cool little spot located on 20th street in Northside downtown Birmingham. The food here is a couple notches above average but nothing in particular to rave about. Good for a simple lunch date. Good paninis, salads, desserts, and drinks. Full bar read more

Walked in on a Sunday Morning, they were not busy at all which was great. What we ordered: Veggie Rolls, Tuscan panini, Violeta Salad without pancetta, mac n cheese on the side and ginger beer. The pros: Cute Spot, lots of seating, okay service, really enjoyed the Tuscan Panini (great vegetarian option), I also really liked the Violeta salad it was really hardy but also light and not weighed down with too much dressing. The cons: honestly the veggie rolls weren't good, bo variated of taste in the rolls themselves and the dipping sauce was DISGUSTING. The sauce was sour and tangy. I really didn't enjoy the mac n cheese, idk why but it was not good. It cost an extra $4 and it's not worth it.. The ginger beer was also very sour and tangy. Overall I enjoyed the two entrees we got. I'll be back to get that tuscan panini again. Will stay away from a few questionable items on the menu. read more
After a recent visit from a very vocally harassing and aggressive friend and co-worker, I decided to stop in for my most recent visit for a quick lunch after his and another co-worker's flight. In his exploration of Brick & Tin, he proclaimed that it is terrible that I am taking him to a place I gave 4 stars to. I was shocked but didn't fact check him. It started me on a kick of updating reviews of places I did early in my Yelping. But just today, I got around to this update... yet it wasn't! As it turns out, my 4 star review was for the other location. And reading my review reminded why. Because my one visit there lacked in part of the service. But no way I couldn't give this location 5 stars. Why no less? Because there sandwiches are great, but their soup is unforgettable. The first time I had the butternut squash soup, my life changed and I looked at all other soups in a different light. Although I have yet to have a bad one here, I am still disappointed when I find out it is not one of the offered soups for the day. As far as sandwiches go, the brisket usually catches my eye. I try and branch out and even split with my co-worker on this trip on his choice of the New Orleans. A bit salty and made me glad I still had my half of the brisket. I have had the New Orleans before and it was good. So I will chock this one up to a one off saltiness of the meat. But the brisket made any cross feelings melt away. It can get VERY crowded for a weekday lunch. Probably their only downfall. But I don't blame the fine workers of the downtown area. I'd probably crowd this place all the time too if I was always down that way. read more

I was picked up at the airport and taken directly to Brick & Tin. What a warm welcome to the Magic City. There were too many good sandwiches to choose from so Will B and I decided to go halfsies. We ordered the New Orleans and the Brisket. They were both great but the brisket sandwich was a clear winner. Juicy and tender brisket with caramelized onions and a Bham traditional white BBQ sauce. The New Orleans was a variation on an Italian with a handful of meats and some olives. I like olives but the flavor was a bit much. I maybe would have enjoyed it more without. I was looking forward to trying the butternut squash soup but it wasn't available that day. Fortunately, the corn chowder was excellent and served as a formidable stand in. read more
So we decided to check out this location as a group and must I say it was a great spot. Now the parking on the other hand is TRASH!!! It's located in a good central area and offers up some amazing food. I ordered the brussel sprouts and the rigatoni along with a rum/coke all for $15!!! If this place had TVs it would be over the top. The music was such a great selection playing in the background it really set the mood. read more

Why aren't they open on the weekends...seems like they would do a lot a lot of business?
We are open on the weekends! We recently renovated, added a full bar, and opened for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.
