Brick and Tin still has the same great food and service. I went in for a quick lunch and it was just as good as it has always been.

This is one of my favorite spots in the city for a mid work week lunch! If you work at the hospital or in downtown, this is a great place to grab a bite with coworkers. They have a menu that features paninis, bowls, and salads, so there is sure to be some thing that pleases everyone. I had the brisket Panini, which was delicious. The brisket was flavorful and tender, and the bread was soft and fresh. Would highly recommend! The service is fast and friendly, so perfect for a quick lunch run. And bonus that the interior is well decorated and with a shady outdoor patio to enjoy good weather. The only thing to take away from Brick & Tin is the notorious trouble with downtown parking. But it's worth it!

I have tried both locations and the food is delicious. Definitely putting in rotation. Service was well and courteous.

I had lunch here during my workday and I loved it! The turkey melt was awesome. The apple butter on it is a bit different but definitely good. The people here were nice and I like the feel of the place. Brick & Tin seems to be a good choice for something that is relatively healthy and tastes great. The food came out pretty quick. I'm an out-of-towner but I plan on coming back for lunch here!

Decided to stop by this place for lunch. First let me say I love the renovations! I love the open concept with the clear chairs and the full bar. Second let me say I have been by for lunch at least three times since they have renovated and decided to finally write my review. I cannot be more impressed with the fast service and quality of food as well as the friendly staff. For my recommendations I highly recommend the butternut squash soup and honestly any of the salads. You will not be disappointed!

This place is a great concept and works extremely well for a nice lunch spot. Its located very close to a lot of corporate buildings, and the food comes out quick enough to grab a quick lunch here with friends/co-workers. The service: The lady taking our order was pleasant, and our food came out after about 10 minutes which is pretty quick in my opinion. The food: Yep this place is amazing as everyone says. The brisket sandwich actually melts in your mouth with how high quality the ingredients are. The side salad you can get with it is delicious and I honestly hate salads. I highly recommend the brisket sandwich with a side of the white BBQ sauce for dipping. For $11 this sandwich is worth every penny and then some. Overall, if you are close by and want to grab a delicious and quick lunch don't hesitate to come here!

Why 5 stars? Because this was about as good as it gets when it comes to a sandwich. --- --- --- I landed in Birmingham, and as is usually the case, a flight works up my appetite. Will B mentioned Brick & Tin as a possible destination for said hunger, and I was sold. Sandwiches have about a 97% success rate at causing happiness within me, and this was no exception. The only problem is that I wasn't sure which sandwich to go with, until I realized that I had missed the most obvious choice ever - the brisket sandwich with white BBQ sauce. Done. Sold. Deliberation over. I also opted for the corn chowder, which was absolutely delicious. And the sandwich was just as wonderful. The only thing I quickly noticed that it was missing was more white bbq sauce. I headed back up to the counter to grab an extra side of it, which I can't recommend enough. As great as the meat and sauce were, the bread of the sandwich was so soft and flavorful. I don't understand why sandwich shops don't invest more time and energy into assuring that their bread is at the top of its game. Brick & Tin is a true role model within its craft.

This charming place was AMAZING! You place your order and pay as you walk-in the door, a plan that works well because by the time you sit down, your drink is being placed on your table. They have a full bar and a nice small selection of craft beer on tap or in bottles. Your water is served in an old fashion decorative bottle with a cap on it that adds a nice touch. The decor is clean. With clear plastic chairs that I found fun and "funky". Important note if you sit at the bar there are plugs for phones and double coat hooks for purses. . The Food was delicious, two of us shared our plates with eAch other. We had the BLUEBIRD SALAD, and a Brisket Panini with a side of butternut squash soup. The best way to describe how fabulous the fOod was is to say that EVERY BITE WE TOOK we murmured Yum or "Oh My"! Both meals were perfect to the end!

*Late post* I really had been wanting to come here for awhile. So, two weeks ago some friends and I came here for the first time for lunch , around noonish; never ever a good idea , right?! Parking was fun and interesting! We found a space pretty easily and nearby but getting into the space was not my finest parallel parking job! Thankfully, the owner of the car in the space in front of us left , so it made the parking job a little less embarrassing! Whew, glad we got that out of the way! A few steps away , we arrived at brick and tin and it was packed! No surprises there! It's peek lunch time , it's a Friday and it's downtown Birmingham! After we decided on what we were going to order , we turned into some table stalkers bc seating is first come first serve. We didn't have to wait long for something to come available so this was GREAT! Without too much of a wait , our food arrived. I ordered the smoked brisket sandwich and a classic side salad. I really enjoyed my sandwich! The brisket was very tender and juicy! The sandwich had caramelized onions , bbq sauce , cheese and was served on a sourdough bread. However , I wasn't too ,too thrilled with the side salad . Way too much ranch like dressing for my liking. This salad was made up of iceberg lettuce ,shredded cheddar cheese, tomatoes and croutons. It actually reminded me of a salad from my childhood. This was neat and it wasn't horrible but certainly not something I would have to have again. Brick and Tin isn't a really big space at all but it sure packs a lot of character within those walls. This place really does have that big city vibe and charm. Also , it certainly adds to the downtown scene , which I love! Our server was nice to keep our water bottle filled with fresh water. We needed a to go box so he was able to quickly get that for us so we could get back to work . I think we actually had 8 mins to spare once we got back to the car! Since brick and tin is now opened for dinner at this location , I plan to return to experience more of this amazing atmosphere and of course to explore more of their menu items! Overall, this was a great treat for lunch and well worth the time! I can mark this one off my food bucket list!

This place exceeded my expectations! Couldn't ask for a more refreshing lunch. Usually when ordering a bowl and any other place you get a lot of carbs and pointless food. But this was jam packed with veggies, nuts and an amazing sauce. Salmon was cooked beautifully and the veggies where nice and fresh. I would recommend outdoor seating during lunch, no sun during those hours and it's a great setting in downtown Birmingham!

Came here with a few friends for lunch. Although there is no official dress, it definitely feels more like a nice shorts or long pants sort of place (I had just gotten out of a test and was dressed like trash and felt like I stood out a bit.) Nevertheless, feel free to wear whatever you want. I ordered a chicken panini with a side of their rosemary soup. I really enjoyed both. The chicken was tasty and also cooked very well. The bread, although looked stiff, was actually a nice crunch with a nice soft underside. The soup was a great touch in between bites. This was my first time here and I'll definitely be back to try some of their plated dishes!

This place is my type of vibe!…read more Trattoria ZaZa has been on my list of places to stop at for several years. Parking often deters me but after attending the Italian Festival earlier that day, we had a craving for pizza. I ordered the combo that includes 2 slices of the day with salad. Since I wasn't overly hungry, I offered him one of my slices and he added another slice to the order. We paid and were given a number to place on our selected table. Jazzy music played in the background while we waited on our order to be brought to the table. The natural lighting, while beautiful, made it a little warm in the building. One of the waitresses propped the door open that leads to the restrooms (which are in the hallway near the elevators) in order for cooler air to make its way in. That wasn't a deal breaker, but do be aware of that on warmer days. Our food came out after a short wait. I kept my 3 cheese slice, and gave him the pepperoni one. The cheeses were very rich and the salad, while simple without the frills, was perfectly sized and drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette that was just the right amount. While I enjoyed my meal very much and the ambiance, he wasn't overly impressed with his. He didn't want the fresh herbs on his slices and knocked all of them off, lol. He's a simple guy with simple taste. This is definitely a place I will be revisiting with one of my girlfriends and not him next time as he didn't appreciate what ZaZA had to offer. Everyone we encountered was helpful and courteous. Our food, including drinks, was around $28, which was not bad for a cute, eclectic spot downtown. If you haven't been, make sure to try them out soon. Just don't wait as long as I did to visit!

There was someone at the podium at the end who i thought was a server. Was not. After a 15 minute wait (why did it take that long?), we got to the podium person. And found out they were there to take our order, not seat us. Can only assume the 15 min delay was because people were trying to figure out what to order. No signage anywhere saying, please have what you want ready while you wait in line. 2. No menus, anywhere. Yes they can be printed and people in line could take one and figure out what they want. Yes, the menu could be put on the wall behind the server in large lettering. But no, they make you scan a QR code on the wall and view the menu on your phone, so that's inconvenient and a bit obtuse. 3. When we finally place an order for pizza, was told that, "they dont serve pizzas on the weekend, but we could order their "brunch pizzas", instead. Which on the counter, was small anemic cut slices of thick bready pizzas on the cutting board/table. Those each were $8.50 according to the menu. Figure the math of 2 small slices of pizza per person for 2 people vs just ordering a large pizza. But they don't serve pizza during brunch- Trattoria literally has the word "Pizza" in their last name- twice actually- yet you have to order a nearly $9 slice of pizza sitting out on a table for who knows how long, and of the flavor of their choice, not yours. It was flat out insulting to go to a pizza based establishment and be told they won't serve whole pizzas. We left and went to Uptown to a pizzaria there, and had a really good whole pizza, salad, dessert, and drinks, and all for half the price then if we had gone to Trattoria. Wanted to give this place a chance for years, but did not work out the way i had expected it to.

Soon as you walk in, you see packaged desserts in both full cakes and slices. They had several King Cakes, so we immediately decided to split a slice. Decided that first before what we're actually eating. #priorities Last time I ate here, I got the Chicken Quesadilla and it was so good. But a couple of my coworkers got the Marilyn Monroe, a sandwich with "turkey, pepperoni, mozzarella & marinara sauce on cheddar bread". So I went with that this time, same as my coworker. Concept here is that you order at the counter, they give you a number to display on your table, then another server will bring your order. Service was fast. The sandwich looked a bit small at first, but it was stacked with turkey and pepperoni, so the portion size was actually just right. It comes with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, which is good, because it keeps the sandwich from being too messy, but it was a bit odd because it was cold, in combination with the warm sandwich. I kinda wish the sauce had been warmer. It comes with a bag of chips and your choice of another side, which I chose fruit. I don't care for melon, so I picked around that and ate the grapes out. Next time I might get another side. And finally... it was King Cake time. We had picked a cream cheese slice and it was SO good. Had a cinnamon taste mixed in, but to be fair, this was my first King Cake so I actually have no idea what to compare it to. This dessert made me so happy. Two things I need to figure out: why is this sandwich called the Marilyn Monroe and when can we eat here again.

But we'd spent the day at McWane Center and we were starving so we were there to EAT! The food looked gorgeous but it tasted very meh. The onion rings had too much breading on them, which I didn't think was possible, but here we are. The part of the breading next to the onion was mushy so that threw off the texture of the whole thing too. The burger was very much like a Whataburger. Even the lettuce smelled the same. I got The Standard and the bun of the burger was a little mushy (similar to Whataburger) and there was not much meat. For an $11 burger, I'm expecting more than a Whataburger. My middle kid likes everything on her burger and isn't picky at all and the loaded kid burger looked impressive but it was about the same as mine. Not awful, but not very good either. Very close to the same amount of meat. She's the queen of the Clean Plate Club and she only ate half. The fries were good but a somewhat too salty, the dip that came with the onion rings was excellent and we ended up using it for the fries.
