Great burgers, cute restaurant and friendly staff. We were staying in the area and this spot was in our neighborhood. Close to a cute park too.

The Goose is an Avondale staple. I love to lunch here, they have a great Caesar Salad. This Friday, I went for the first time on a late-night excursion. The bartenders are the type to just hang out with you, which I love. They indulged me in making my hyper-specific favorite shot which involves pickle juice and hot sauce. Everyone is very kind, sports always on the TVs, neighborhood spot. It has a "locals only" vibe, even though this is Birmingham, not Aspen.

Good food and family friendly. They have plenty of outdoor seating. We tried the cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak, and chicken tender with tots. Let's just say the chicken tender stole the show. They were huge and enough to share. Everything is cooked to order of course. If you go, I would definitely recommend the chicken tenders and tater tots!

So it's a cute place with covered outdoor area where you can have your pup. I had to poke my head inside to ask for service. When the guy came out he said we don't do table service on the weekends out on the patio. Ok well your website should state that. Made sure they got my credit card before I could order. Someone else brought my order and no one ever came back to check on me. Finished my beer and food, still no one. I was a bartender/server for over 20 yrs...they get a C for their grade.

The Goose has it all - outside space with TVs and yummy food! Perfect Saturday lunch spot if you want to sit in the sun and watch whatever sporting event is going on. In our case the Masters and they even had the sound on. Great touch. The staff is quick and friendly. Highly recommend you check out The Goose!

Fun little place with some really good snacks. Look, this is not a white tablecloth experience, but if you just want some good food c'mon in! This last trip was my third, and I will say you must try the fried pickles. I was skeptical because I am a huge fried pickle fan, but it has to be chips. So when I saw the pickles were more like fries I was not expecting to like them as much as I do! Right up there with the best "chips" in the game! From there do any form of the fried chicken, the grilled chicken on the nachos, and the wings. But if you go wings don't ask for blue cheese. Only negative I have found is the blue cheese tastes just like Kr@$t out of a bottle, and if you know what I am talking about we can be friends! I am a blue cheese dressing snob!

Visited this place on accident. Really wanted to try Saws Soul Food but the weren't open. I wasn't very happy at first. There was a guy there redoing the cable and internet and only one server. It started off badly but got better when the food came. I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she said try the Hot Head Burger. I asked what came on it and she said she didn't know so she asked at the window. After the third time she said she didn't know she said she only worked there once a week and hadn't been there a month. Once the food came, things got better. The burger was amazing and the wings were super good and not burnt. Fries come with every meal so you will never leave hungry. We were never asked if we wanted refills on water or soda so if you do go, take your own. Or hopefully there is a real bartender working the bar.

This restaurant has been only open a few months and is awesome. It is a fun spot with a very nice patio with shade. It sits on artificial grass and has games out there like corn hole, and big connect four. Some of the tables has umbrellas and there is also fans out there. They have a few parking spots along the perimeter of the patio. There is also free street parking within a reasonable walking distance. That is where I ended up parking. In addition to the patio, they have a small bar that has seating and full service. There is also a small indoor dining area. Bot spots have televisions, The bar may be small, but has 4 televisions covering its center wall. There was no indoor seating available so, we decided to sit on the patio. At first there was only a table in the hot sun. However, Heath, the owner was out there working hard and pulled our table over to the shade and under some fans. The staff there is amazing. They were helpful, courteous, friendly and attentive. Top notch. They do not have signature cocktails, but they do have a full bar with beer and wine. The menu has burger sandwiches, wings. and salads. Most of them have fun names and you will find some exotic items on there. I ordered the Steak Philly (Silly Philly) with fries. The Goose Neck also looked good. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for us to get our food, which was pretty good considering how packed their were. My food was delicious. If I had one suggestion, It would be to put a little more meat on the sandwich. It was still filling and very flavorful. I left there full. I would recommend trying the Philly. The fries were good too, but it is hard to mess those up, but I have seen it done though. The other person with me loved their food too and was highly impressed by the service. Heath runs a great operation here. I throughly enjoyed my dinner here. They are very welcoming here and have some awesome food and an amazing staff. I highly recommend checking this place out and hope that I am able to make it back here soon.

First time being here since it changed to The Goose. My burger was pretty good. My wife said her pork needed to be seasoned, but her sandwich was decent. We loved the shoestring fries. I didn't have an alcoholic drink this time but the atmosphere was pretty nice as well. Everyone working there was pretty nice and our food came out hot and quickly, fast service!

We walked up the street with a half dozen other diners. Wooden City is definitely not in the best part of BHM. Walking to the restaurant was a little sketchy, no need for a detailed description. Although we had reservations, the hostess looked at us like we had three eyes. She found a small table for us in the far back of the restaurant. No problem, at least we were seated. Our server greeted us quickly and went over the menu. We ordered drinks, blistered Hungarian peppers and a sausage and mushroom pizza. We told him that we were going to a concert and were on a little bit of a tight schedule. By the time our server checked on our food, the second time, we went from a little bit tight to full "gotta get out of here" mode. I guess the delay in getting our food was to give the kitchen time to burn our pizza. Over half of the thick, chewy crust was inedible. The bottom of the pie didn't fare much better. The peppers, on the other hand, were amazing. (not so much so at 2 am but that's just me!) They are a do not miss. We were at least able to settle our bill quickly and made it to the concert with time to spare. Overall, would we go back? Only if in the area - those peppers were amazing. Still, I definitely would not make a special trip.

The bun was soft, fresh, and really complemented the toppings. The fries were crispy and tasty, making for a solid side. For our meal, we ordered the Chili Ray Cyrus burger with fries ($13.29), an Al Capone hot dog ($8.79), a Blueprint burger ($11.29), and two fountain drinks ($2.79 each). Our total came to $48.69, including tax and tip. The only thing keeping this from being a five-star review is the pricing. While the quality of the food is undeniable, almost $9 for a hot dog felt a bit steep, especially considering it's just the hot dog without a side. If the prices were a little more reasonable, I'd have no problem giving this place five stars. Overall, the food quality exceeded my expectations, and I'd definitely return when I'm in the area. If you're looking for a well-cooked Wagyu burger or a quality gourmet hot dog, Whiskey Foxtrot is worth checking out--you'll just want to be prepared for the premium pricing.
