I recently went to Our Place for lunch on a Friday. The staff was friendly. I got my order in under 5 mins. I ordered the Reuben and fries and let me say... I was not disappointed. The fries were cooked perfect. I love em crispy and these were fantastic. The Rueben was tasty and filled me up. So I felt like they fed me well. I had a good experience. The best hole in the wall restaurant in North Jefferson County. The food is excellent and I would consider to be diner food. The hamburgers are the best I love Gardendale, Fullerton area. The owner is at the grill cooking away, along with his family and the service is exceptional. Locals are attracted to the chicken salad sandwiches. Great gyros, hamburger steak, Reuben, and chicken wraps! Even their homemade ranch is fantastic. The only thing I've tried that could have been better was the gravy biscuit. Was on the go and only had a few minutes to grab something to eat. I decided against fast food and this place was a yelp recommendation for the area, so I decided to try it out. This place is so charming. I believe the owners are also the people cooking/running the show. At this place you order at the counter and take a number to your seat. Since I was in a hurry, I just took mine to go. I ordered the chicken salad salad, which was amazing. The best part? The ranch. It was the good homemade style ranch. When our kitchen was being renovated we went here for breakfast 6 days a week. They have the best biscuits!!! I was sick for a couple of days and my husband asked the owner/chef if he would make a sausage, egg, cheese biscuit even though it wasn't on the menu. He happily complied! I was in the area for something else and I decided to have lunch here. It was lunch time 12:15pm and it was very busy. Expect to wait but not long. Since they prepare the food fresh, it was definitely very good. I ordered the char-chick salad and a drink. It was a dinner order but it was $11 and some change for just a salad add bacon and a drink as pictured. I say that b/c I found it to be expensive for lunch considering it registered as inexpensive $ on yelp. It was $6.95 on the menu who know. I can understand why this is a favorite among locals. Casual atmosphere, down-to-earth staff. We laughed as we sat there listening to the announcement of patrons they saw coming in from the parking lot. They seemed to know the names of everyone that came in. We came for breakfast. Inexpensive. We each got biscuit and gravy. I got scrambled eggs and my husband got the hashbrowns and some sausage. The biscuit and gravy are the type I like- a little sausage flavor from the drippings used to make the gravy but no sausage. My husband prefers his with sausage crumbled in it so he wasn't as pleased. My eggs had a good flavor but were a little over done for my liking. The hashbrowns were the basic frozen, patty style. I know the hubby would have much rather had Waffle House style. I asked him if he liked his sausage and he said "I mean it tastes like sausage, it's hard to mess up sausage". So in summary, our breakfast was just ok. We both agreed we wanted to come back for lunch. The atmosphere was just too great to let a place like this be un-patronized. Found this place by doing a Google search for places near me. Ordered food and went to pick it up. Food was good, pasta salad was good, but I had ordered chips in my order and they were not included in the bag. I didn't pick up the order so I don't know the process or how it happened. Since it was an online order. I think what ever you order (since no option for chip flavor was offered) should be in the bag at time of pick up. Like I said, the food was good, just disappointing that the chips ordered weren't included in the pickup. read more

I really don't understand why this place has good reviews. I guess it's locals and if that is your thing, good deal. The chicken salad that people rave about was very dry and bland, I was really surprised about that. The char chicken was also dry. The last and final time I went, the lady taking orders was on a loud political rant which made for an uncomfortable wait for our food. read more

Great little spot tucked away hidden in a small strip of shops. It's simplistic and that is what makes it good - they don't try to be what they are not. They stick to what they are good at - hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. Everyone I know enjoys their house made chicken salad, and it does look good. I just can't get past a good chili dog. If going for lunch, go early. It gets very, very busy and its a small space. Never takes long for your food so you can get in and out quickly. read more

Yelp helped us find this place on a Sat morning when Waffle House was packed with, soon to be sad Bama Fans (LSU#1 - Bama #2) . The folks that run/own Our Place were super friendly. We ate a very good breakfast (real bacon) with decent coffee. My only knock is the styrofoam plates and plastic forks, although I would go back in a heartbeat. Small Italian family owned restaurant with great food, great service, tucked away in a small shopping center. Always crowded with locals which is a true sign of a 5 star restaurant. I've never had anything that wasn't good and I've had lunch there many times. read more
