Build a Nest: chicken salad, potato salad, and broccoli salad
    Meagan A.

Mom treated me to lunch earlier today and we both ordered the "build your own nest" entree. I wanted to try a sandwich, but seeing that you would pay $12 for a sandwich only I decided against it. I very much wanted to try more of the sides than anything. Our meals came out quickly. I really enjoyed the chicken salad and potato salad, but the broccoli salad was a bit of a miss for me.

    Amazing sandwiches!!

Moving to Birmingham last year, were always in search of a 5 star sandwich shop. Today we found this hidden gem in Trussville,AL The quality of deli meat is top notch , the bread is delicious and the way they take their time making sure it's perfect just shows the outstanding customer service they deliver. It's super cute inside warm & welcoming. One of the best things about this restaurant is they have Gluten Free options that taste great. I Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back often.

Food is great! I don't know why they don't have 5 stars! The lady who took our order was quick and friendly. They have an open kitchen and everything was clean. We will be returning

Great new sandwich shop in the area! Good for dine in and take out both. I've tried the Reuben and Beef & Cheddar. Both were great and will be hard to decide which would be better for future visits. My wife loves the Jalapeño Pimento & Cheese on Wheat. For dine in, you order at the counter and they bring to your table after only a short wait.

    Tuna on croissant
    Sadie W.

We ordered lunch from here at my job. The selections we had to choose from weren't that big. I went with the tuna on croissant. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, and a pickle spear. The tuna lacked flavor. I wish I would've had salt and pepper to spruce it up. I will give this establishment another try that way my sandwich selection will not be limited.

    Club

Stopped in today for a club! Got a club with no tomato or lettuce and a side of potato salad. Both the club and potato salad were great! Loved the honey mustard on the club. They have a great selection of to-go food too like casseroles and soups, all very reasonably priced.

    so good

I had the turkey Reuben today. I called it in ahead of time so it was ready when I showed up greeted by two friendly people. I'm a huge fan of a turkey Reuben and today's sandwich was one of the best I have had. I will be back for sure. So glad I tried it because now I know I have a close go to spot.

The food was ok and service not the best. I asked about the combo that includes the sandwich and soup and noticed it said premium sandwiches only. Nothing on the regular sandwiches excited me. I was told no and then he rudely started explaining the menu as if I couldn't read. They wanted to charge 75 cents for water which I declined and said I have water in the car. He said well you can't bring that in. No problem, I'll just wait to drink in the car after my meal. He then proceed to tell me they pay for cups and their water is filtered. Hmm no thank you! If I'm pay that I can go get decent bottle water and not water from your fountain machine that probably has a little drink mixture in. Moving on....I get my sandwich and I'm thinking this could have been made at home. They use regular white bread, mediocre lunch meat...nothing fancy. The tomato basil soup was more like spaghetti sauce as it was thick. It was not what expected but not comfortable to ask the rude cashier for something different. I probably won't return based on service alone.

French dip, cup of tomato basil soup, and a grilled cheese.
    Emily T.

The lady and I decided to stop in after doing some last minute Christmas shopping. She ordered the French dip, which she said was the best that she's had in a while. She said the Au Jus was well seasoned and the meat was very tender. I had a cup of tomato basil soup (ABSOLUTELY DEVINE) and a grilled cheese (perfect pairing). The soup was so good, I was tempted to lick the bowl right there in the dining room.

Smoked Turkey & ham with broccoli salad

Smoked Turkey & ham with broccoli salad. I popped in for a quick lunch one day. Been waiting to try this place but I can never seem to make it when they are open! I seized the moment and so happy I did. This was drool worthy good! Perfect crisp crunch of the bread, packed full of meat, and tasty sauce. Chefs kiss! Can't wait to come back and try their soups!

Great hot dogs today at lunch. No ketchup or mustard just their sauce and it was good. Give it a try.

We got chicken salad sandwiches and it was horrible. The worst 22.00 I have ever spent. Will never go back. Don't waste your money!

Overall consistently have been happy with everything I have eaten, but I will say that while still pretty good the burgers are not as good as they were early on. One of the big draws for me has always been the outdoor patio area that is shared with the other businesses that are part of the Trussville Entertainment District (TED). The covering over the area keeps you out of the direct sun but still has a very open air feel. On my most recent visit I got the Feral Smash Burger with Cheddar instead of American Cheese. I ordered the tots for my side because I swore that I had gotten them many times in the past. Looking back at all my photos, clearly I was mistaken. Since I am not a big fan of sweet potato the bartender brought me fries instead to go with my side of Beer Cheese which is well worth the added cost. Depending on when you go, you may have to go inside to order at the bar for the outdoor seating (such as I did today). Other days when the TED is busier and peak times you can order at the outdoor bar. For solo lunch dining I prefer other options in the TED but Ferus is great for groups and outdoor dining. I am sure I will be back especially when my daughter comes to town since she likes to refill her growler with the seasonal sours.

A special shoutout to the manager, Landon, who goes way above and beyond his duties to make sure everything runs smoothly and that guests feel appreciated. His leadership really shows in the quality of service throughout the restaurant. We always enjoy coming here to relax, hang out, and feel that true hometown atmosphere. It's a great place to bring family, enjoy a meal, or watch your favorite sports team. The sports bar atmosphere is a very loud environment so it is not conducive to a lot of talking but still an enjoyable experience. My wife really likes the Zydeco Salad (sweet chili-glazed fried shrimp, mixed greens, cabbage, candied pecans, jalapeños, tortilla strips, red onions, bell peppers, jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette). Pepper Jack Boudin (jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette) is almost always a part of our order. If you have never had, I recommend you give them a try. The Voodoo Shrimp & Grits (bacon-wrapped jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed-shrimp tossed in sweet chili glaze, served with cheddar grits) are an interesting take on the traditional Louisiana dish. I had never had corn mixed in with my grits before but it was a nice addition. The dish is large enough to split, especially when you add the boudin and Beignet Bites for a full meal. The Seafood Poboy with a choice of boom boom shrimp, fried shrimp or fried catfish with tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, poboy bread is another great option.
