Excellent Restaurant. Consistency is 10/10 . Delicious. From there Gyro meat to the dessert menu .

This place has been around since I was in high school and is still hanging by to this day. The atmosphere is casual which you place your order at the counter. They are pretty reasonable when it comes to the cost of food and never have to wait long. I normally get either the catfish or ribeye steak dinner which both come with rice, Greek salad and pita bread with hummus. The catfish fillet is fried perfectly without it being too hard and has a very nice flavor. The ribeye steak is a thin slice, but don't let that fool you because it definitely packing a big chunks of flavor. They have more than just Mediterranean food for your preference. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Trussville area. I think the location cause it to be overlooked but people are missing out! They have one of the best veggie kabobs dinner out there. It comes with salad and fruit. Very fulfilling! I've tried the chicken gyro as well and enjoyed it too. The service is always quick and they cook fresh to order so a small wait is worth the quality. Dinner on a Wednesday night. I ordered a Kafka wrap, with rice and a drink. Wrap was really good, slightly messy with hummus oozing from it. It has the parsley and onion meatballs on it along with lettuce and tomato. The rice was ok. It had a few hard grains in it. I always enjoy their tea. The people are friendly and pleasant. You order and pay at the counter and they bring you food to your table. You fix and refill your own drink. One of the only places I know where they do not automatically ask about a tip when you pay. They still have a tip jar. Try this place. The gyros are awesome as well. read more

We came in for an early lunch on Saturday. The employees were super nice and accommodating in the restaurant was comfortable and clean. We had a kids mozzarella stick, a euro plate and a euro roll up. Crinkle fries were really good crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. We will definitely be back. read more

Look this was never even supposed to end up being a review which is why you'll notice that all the food has been dug into lol. So a bit of back story I went to this restaurant quite a few years ago and my first experience was kind of meh. The burger was okay at best, the fries were extremely salty, and the lemonade was watered down. This place is called Gyros Cafe. Now about a month ago on a Friday just like today I was scrolling through Door Dash (I'm still boycotting Uber Eats) looking for something different to try and enjoy my Friday night (Disclaimer I did not eat all this in one sitting this was a meal I split for 2 days lol). Well I came across them and decided it's been a very long time since I've had them let's give them another try. So I did! Yall look here I sampled everything while it was hot and yes everything showed up piping hot. The bacon Cheeseburger was amazing flavors balanced cooked just right like honestly no notes. 9/10 The wings were shockingly good. At first glance you think oh overcooked. But they weren't! They were seasoned well with a great crunch and the ranch was killer! 8/10 I'm sure the mozzarella sticks are just frozen but idk what brand they use or they may actually make them fresh. Either way they were so good and everything I look for in a good mozzarella stick. The marinara sauce was pretty good too! 9/10 Lastly the seasoned cheese fries. Guys they weren't salty at all this time. Cheese could have been a bit better but it still gets a really good score of a 7.9/10 I highly recommend you go try Gyros Cafe in Chalkville/Trussville area. Whatever they have done from then to now they have done a complete 180 and whoever is in charge and working in that kitchen are doing a great job. Food was good but first impression was not friendly. The cashier acted like I was in her way when I walked up to order. Not looking at me and just standing there quiet, waiting for me to order. Couldn't even crack a smile. I ordered a Gyro and it was prepared fast, wrapped tightly and was delicious. Got in and out fast. Told the cook it was delicious but I didn't see any reason for hanging around. Young girl at the cash register needs to at least act nice! 8/10 read more

They are consistently great! Love both the steakburger and turkey Swiss wrap. Also, their chili cheese fries are some of the best I've had--never tried their chili straight up but I bet it would be bomb judging by what's on those fries. read more

really used to love this place. But it seems It has been going down hill for the last couple years. So this review is given with a heavy heart. As the food goes, The Gyro has barely any meat on it these days. They are also skimpy with the lettuce, tomato and taziki. So if you are used to getting your gyro from the north, you will be disappointed. The second thing that has gone down hill is the cleanliness of the restaurant in general. I believe that Both of these two shortcomings can be attributed to the third which is the service. The young man running the place these days is not at all focused on customer service or customer experience. I fear these may be the last days for this once favorite place. We have decided we just won't eat here any more and I can no longer recommend this restaurant. read more

It's been years since I've eaten here! I had a craving for some quick Meditterean food and didn't want to go too far out. I ordered via grub hub , which is always a breeze. I ordered the chicken kabob and a walnut baklava. When I arrived to pick up my food , there were multiple people waiting for their food and other waiting to order. It took longer than I would have liked to pick up my order but It was certainly worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Kabob meal! The rice was amazing!! The children kabob & veggies were seasoned nicely! The entree also came with fruit and hummus- these two items completed this already delicious meal! I really enjoyed it all. Initially, I didn't feel like it was enough food for the price but with the side salad being included, the entire meal was fulfilling! I ate every morsel! It had been years since I'd last visited gyro cafe. The inside has been updated , which is nice . There's patio seating available and ample parking available. Solid meal!!! read more

I have given the store a five star rating every time that I have rated them. But today I would give zero stars if that was an option. I placed an order for three items and all three items were wrong and when I called the restaurant, they told me I would have to deal with DoorDash. When I called DoorDash they said I would have to find the number for corporate and call them. I called the restaurant back and they said they can't do anything about it even though items were left off that we were charged for and that DoorDash corporate would be calling me and I have received no phone call. So today they get zero stars and no recommendations.. Addendum: Their 'refund' was $1.35 on a $35 meal! read more

I've passed this place a couple of times and read the reviews on Yelp, but this place is awesome! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't packed, but a lot of people order to go. We decided to sit in and eat. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was nice. I order a gyro and it was very tasty. My daughter had the chicken finger basket which was very plentiful! Always hot food, delicious, fast, and clean. Looks to be family owned and have great staff.

The location and decor leave a lot to be desired- but this has remained one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch in Trussville. Their burgers and wings are my two go-to orders, though I have never been too dissatisfied by anything else on the menu. Keep in mind, it's not fantastic food- in fact, it's average. My family visits at least every other weekend. Don't expect a darken dinning area with candles on the table, this is a cafe. Amazing food.... The employees were so nice which is very hard to find these days. They made all the food from scratch and you could tell. Get the coconut shrimp. But really everything is delicious. Greek comfort food, Bama style.
