I'm on a quest to try every Mediterranean restaurant in the city and order the same dish. Today's visit was to The Pita Stop on Southside. Upon arrival, the worker showed me to my table. I had the place to my self on this day. My order was taken promptly after arriving. I ordered the Chicken Kebob plate. For $18.95, I was pleasantly shocked at the amount of food that the order came with. It came with a well seasoned chicken Kebob (an actual Kebob on a skewer with veggies), Greek salad (house salad on the menu), wild rice, pita bread, hummus and fresh fruit. Everything was delicious and I had enough to take home for another meal.. A couple of things to note: The worker mopped the floor as I ate my food. I'm sensitive to certain smells so this was kinda a no-no for me. Also expect to wait for your food as they cook it fresh and made to order. If you're in a hurry, call your order in. Neither of these things are deal breakers and I will definitely return.

Yelp led me here and I was not disappointed. I went with the Lamb burger and it was absolutely as delicious as everyone says it is. The portions are generous, and the price is right! I was greeted with the best customer service and seated right away on this relaxing Sunday afternoon. I don't believe I waited more than 10 minutes for my food to come out and it was worth the wait. The fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. The burger patty was seasoned well also. It was perfectly paired with the feta cheese. There were even a few slices of fruit on my plate if I wanted a healthy dessert. All in all I would definitely recommend and definitely be returning again when in the Birmingham area.

I stopped here to get some dinner, after visiting a patient at UAB Highlands. It has been a while since I have visited, but I can always depend on this place to have great service. I placed a to go order and there were a few people waiting and also a few dining in. However, the line moved pretty quick and I waited no longer than 15 minutes for my order. I went with the beef kabob entree as I was hungry and I knew that it came with a good amount of food. The beef kabob entree is one of my favorites. It came with fruit, a house salad, wild rice, pita bread and hummus dip. The beef on the kabobs was tender and the kabobs were seasoned really well. The rice was also very good and they gave you a generous amount. You do not have to worry about getting full, because they make sure to give you enough food. I lucked up and got a parking space out front. However, their parking is limited out front. good,I enjoyed this place and will be sure to visit again.

We came in for dinner Tuesday night before an event and thought we could get a good meal and good service. I understand it was Valentine's Day but this place wasn't even packed. We walked in at 6:05pm and ordered right then because we knew what we wanted. We received water and tea and didn't see anyone else until we asked about our food at 6:35pm. I was told it would be coming right up and we still didn't get it until 10 minutes later. We had to rush and eat but we saw people that ordered the same thing seated after us eat before us! The food was good but the service brought experience way down.

Located across from UAB Highland's campus. The Pita Stop was recommended to me by a work friend. Men's restroom was clean. My order was taken promptly by my waiter. The Seafood Platter was fresh and delicious. A unique restaurant worth trying!

The Pita Stop has been one of our favorites for over 20 years. Matt, Mo and the staff always serve delicious, high quality food. Service is personal and efficient. Our "go to" meals are the Seafood Kabob and the Seafood Omelette.

We had the chicken and beef kabobs. My dad ordered the grouper meal. The service was awesome. They helped us select our menu items. The ambiance was calming and relaxing. Thank you so much for the awesome food.

We were thrilled to stumble upon this place. The atmosphere is nice. Everyone is friendly, and the food is delicious. The servings are huge. I got the beef kebab which comes with a salad, rice, pitas hummus and fruit. My husband got the Meatball kebab. Both were delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I heard about Pita Stop on Yelp and really was excited to check it out. We went for lunch and was immediately seated, so there was zero wait time! Always a PLUS when dining out for lunch during the work week. Prior to going to Pita Stop, I probably read most of the reviews just to get a pulse of what people were ordering . I found that people really loved the daily lunch specials . Specifically , the chicken meal and the grouper meal were the top choices amongst fellow yelpers! Ok, great. I knew what I was ordering. Before ordering I asked about what the fish special was just to make sure the menu hadn't changed or anything like that. Our server rattled off some fish options and when I heard "grouper", I told her that's what I wanted. Well., guess what? She later came back and said, they didn't have the grouper. So in lieu of , I ordered mahi mahi. Salmon , tilapia or tuna were some other options as well. It didn't take long for us to get our meals shortly after. The serving size for the lunch specials were really generous; I really loved the wild rice, hummus and pita bread! What a treat to my tastebuds! The fish was seasoned nicely but slightly "fishy." Overall this was a really filling meal and I plan to revisit but next time I will be ordering the Chicken Kabobs......I was told those were delish! I'll update my review once I go back.

We walked up the street with a half dozen other diners. Wooden City is definitely not in the best part of BHM. Walking to the restaurant was a little sketchy, no need for a detailed description. Although we had reservations, the hostess looked at us like we had three eyes. She found a small table for us in the far back of the restaurant. No problem, at least we were seated. Our server greeted us quickly and went over the menu. We ordered drinks, blistered Hungarian peppers and a sausage and mushroom pizza. We told him that we were going to a concert and were on a little bit of a tight schedule. By the time our server checked on our food, the second time, we went from a little bit tight to full "gotta get out of here" mode. I guess the delay in getting our food was to give the kitchen time to burn our pizza. Over half of the thick, chewy crust was inedible. The bottom of the pie didn't fare much better. The peppers, on the other hand, were amazing. (not so much so at 2 am but that's just me!) They are a do not miss. We were at least able to settle our bill quickly and made it to the concert with time to spare. Overall, would we go back? Only if in the area - those peppers were amazing. Still, I definitely would not make a special trip.

The service is *excellent* with a capital "E." We ate at the bar, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the restaurant. They have tried everything on the menu themselves. They can describe any one of the imported liquors up on the wall. These are real deal professionals who illustrate just how important the people in a restaurant's front truly are. The food? Delicious. It's a wild grab bag of East Asian fare - Chinese, Japanese, Thai - and it's all done extremely well. The portions are small, which is good, since you'll want to try half a dozen things on Current's very deliberately thought-out menu. The Peking Duck is some of the best I've had. The cocktails are also excellent, with my favorite being a delicious, earthy combination of coconut, lime, and pandan. It's like an extremely upscale tiki drink. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely perfect. 5 stars.

High ceilings and exposed brick are a few of the ways to my heart. If you've seen a post about this place, you've probably seen a picture of the crackly round, artistic dish and wondered what it was. There are dumplings on the underside of it and you break each one off of the crackly part to enjoy. We did enjoy these but I would've loved a soy sauce to dip them in. They came with chili crunch, peanuts, and green onions but I wanted an actual sauce. They were very standard tasting dumplings and there was nothing extraordinary about them unfortunately. As always, we'd looked at the menu beforehand and decided what we wanted. It does state on their website that their menus can change due to freshness and availability. But we'd both decided on an app and entree we wanted only to get there and have none of them on the menu. I do appreciate a rotating menu to accommodate local items, but I would also love for those to be updated on a regular basis. So after rerouting, we decided on the chicken skewers as another app with the dumplings. These were chargrilled, flavorful, and had a nice crust on them. I got shrimp fried rice and Julia got spicy beef noodles. It was fine but I wish the shrimp wouldn't have been cut up. It felt like they chopped them up in order to not put as many in the dish. At $25 for this, I'd like whole shrimp please. There were a few pieces of raw spinach with pepper on the top. I would've loved a sauce of some kind. I would've preferred shrimp hibachi with fried rice from a Japanese place that included vegetables and sauces. This was not *bad* there was just SO much room for improvement. We both agreed that nothing was awful, but for these prices and the hype, we expected more. Our waitress was super friendly. Bonus points because they had match boxes at the host stand! There was a paid parking lot diagonal from the restaurant, so we had to walk through an intersection to get there. There are some spots up front if you can snag one. Overall, we enjoyed our time here but won't be sprinting back.
