Voted one of the top bars to travel to in multiple magazines. The owner basically built a bar around his workshop. The middle looks way better during the summer, but a must visit if in the area.

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

The space itself is beautiful--clean, intentional, and unique--with visual nods to milling and baking traditions. You can see elements of the mill and wheat motifs in the background, which adds a quiet sense of craftsmanship and history without feeling staged. The pastries are exceptional. Their croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery, the sourdough is deeply flavorful, and the morning buns strike that ideal balance of richness and warmth. The baguette is crisp on the outside, tender inside--everything you want it to be. Every item feels carefully made, never rushed. What stands out most is the consistency and care. Breadworks manages to feel elevated yet welcoming--refined without being pretentious. It's clear they take pride in both their craft and their process, and it shows in every bite. A true standout in Birmingham and absolutely worth returning to.

Parking was a bit difficult on this day, but that's to be expected with the holiday shopping traffic. I love Brick & Tin. It's upscale Panera in the best way. Their brisket sandwich and soups are absolutely incredible. I always recommend this place if you're looking for a nice, fast-casual lunch. I got the farro half salad and added chicken. This was the perfect lunch. Great flavor, squash, some greens, farro to keep you full (I believe this is an ancient grain), I feel like I checked every box on being healthy for the day. The dressing is delicious and not overdone. They've got bar seating, two tables for larger groups, and then booth seating along the walls. It's a farm-to-table vibe in here, and the food certainly matches. I've never been disappointed by anything from here. I need to try out their downtown location next!

Ok so this place actually makes a great sandwich…read more I was scrolling Yelp and looking for something nearby and saw a pic from this place and decided to just shoot over to it and give it a try. Best sandwich related move I've made in a while. It's inside a brewery, but kind of it's own separate space on one end. Walk up and order at the counter, get a number and they'll bring it out to you when it's ready. There is tons of space indoors and out. Lots of tvs for watching all the games. A variety of seating from sofas to barstools to picnic tables etc. Just a really spacious place with a great layout. It's in a brewery, but I'm gonna say it's family friendly. I definitely saw families there with kids and everyone was having a good and responsible time. So as far as all that stuff goes...great. Now onto the sandwich. The menu was short and sweet and I was torn between a few of their options, and I settled on the Big Tony, which turned out to be a great decision. It was huge. 2 meals. Order one if you're hungry, or if you want to share with a friend. It was made to order, it could be had either hot or cold. It had a great balsamic on it. It was popping with flavor and on a nice hoagie roll that rounded it out nicely. Long story short, don't second guess it. This is a great, big, flavorful sandwich and it's being served up in a big, spacious, airy environment with all the things you'd expect in a nice brewery. Get down there and see for yourself.

Again, everything was really good.
