Food first, thoughts after... Spacious parking! We got a double cheeseburger with fries and a reg cheeseburger with fries. 2 drinks for a total of $25.75. Came for breakfast but missed it by a few minutes. We moved to about 5-6 tables because of how dirty and sticky they were. None the less burgers were good. The Quickie bowl which features grits, cheese, egg, and crumbled bacon is my current fav. Pancakes are awesome here. You can't beat the family friendly atmosphere. Excellent fast service. Food came about 7 min after ordering. Chicken fingers are huge and REAL chicken. Fries were crunchy on outside and soft in middle. Everything was hot and enjoyable. I have rarely been to Hamburger Heaven for lunch. And it is not a place I typically frequent. But I do really enjoy their breakfast. I love that they offer Conecuh products and the quality is good. We needed to do something down 280, so I decided to suggest that for the family last weekend. I also really enjoy their hash cakes that come with breakfast combos. Unfortunately, they didn't have them. I won't ding them for that. They just can't get them right now with the shortages. Very unfortunate though. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit was on point. My wife got one of their bowls. Besides it being very small, she said she enjoyed it. My kids loved their pancake and french toast. All in all, it was pretty nice experience. The gentleman that helped us at the register was really friendly and was very patient while my kids couldn't decide. Solid 4 stars. read more

I recently went on a drive-through hamburger kick and visited several local burger joints to see how the hamburgers would stack up. To my pleasant surprise, locally owned Hamburger Heaven seems to make among the best hamburgers, better than Five Guys and Culver's. The meat seems to be more fresh, and the same goes for the accompanying ingredients. This is NOT an "artisan, craft, gourmet, bespoke" kind of place. It's more of a greasy spoon. This place makes hamburgers and cheeseburgers in a messy old-fashioned style and that is just fine with me. The bacon cheeseburgers are great. Prices are reasonable for what you get. The presentation is nothing fancy, just a basic burger wrapper and a paper sack. This review is really just focused on the quality of the burgers. The fries here are nothing special; in fact, I'm sorry to say that the fries are not very good and should be better. They just do not taste as fresh as the burgers. Overall, I would judge hamburger heaven a good alternative to Milo's and a worthwhile destination all its own. I've heard that this is just one of those places that you need to try and so we did. The hamburgers are good classic burgers cooked in a flat top griddle. The fries here are great. People had told us that we had to try their onion straws. We were expecting the thin kind but these were like thick petals and were just okay. Do not listen to the naysayers, this place is amazing! There is a reason Hamburger Heaven has been around for 30+ years, and this location has been around for 25 years: they flat out make incredible burgers and fries. There is an old school style and flavor to their burger that you just can't get at Five Guys or Freddy's just down the street. I promise this place is better. My daughter got the chicken tenders with their homemade tender sauce and they were delicious as well. I would give 3.5 starts for benefit of the doubt. The food definitely deserves 5 stars. ESPECIALLY THE SWEET POTATO FRIES, but the staff is lacking in certain areas. My order is wrong every time I get it in some kind of way, so for the sake of your mood check your order before you leave the drive-thru. 10/10 times they will forget your sauces- no doubt about it. But the coup de grace are the milkshakes. Yum. One word of caution. Do not go here before going to your physician for an annual checkup. He'll look at your bloodwork and have a coronary himself. I did it again. My idea was to take some pictures of my meal to post onto Yelp. Before I realized that I had no pictures, my meal had vanished. This is one of several Hamburger Heavens in the Birmingham metro. They are all great and run by the same guy (as far as I know). There are lots of options on HWY 280, but this is one quality place. I used to frequent this place years ago but eventually felt like the meat was not as good as other places. I went back this week because my mom and sister had both been and loved it. I got the slider special and everything was PERFECT. Burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly! Fries were great and the sweet tea was just right...not too sweet. I had a burger here once and probably will never again. Growing up in Cali with In n Out will ruin you for burgers elsewhere. I will say the BLT here is one of, if not, the best I have had. Perfect proportions of bacon to freshly chopped lettuce to ripe tomato and the perfect amount of mayo. If you like a good BLT this place will not let you down.
