With nice weather on a weekday evening, we were able to be seated outside despite it seeming very busy. All throughout our time, the staff were very attentive to our needs and basic things like ensuring prompt water refills. For the prices, the portions were adequate and the appetizer were great, especially the fries pickles. I recommended the blackened fish sandwich over the smash burger. The smash burger, though it tasted great, was not exactly a unique offering compared to the other menu items.

What an awesome place! Great service. Very attentive and quick. Food came out in 15-20 Mins. Great ambiance and food was delicious. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was tasty with the celery slaw, blue cheese crumbles and ranch. Yum! Everyone at our table raved about their meals. Well done The Battery!

I was looking for a restaurant that served a good grilled cheese sandwich, when I ran across this place. Nice location with onsite parking. Very nice patio seating for friends or groups, with televisions for easy viewing of your favorite sports. This was a midday solo meal and cocktail. I was warmly greeted and seated right away. The restaurant was clean with a fully stocked bar. My order was taken and my drinks were brought out quickly. That's always a nice touch. I ordered the Blood orange margarita, which was really good. My order consisted of the grill cheese sandwich and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts with the goat cheese and pomegranate seeds were DELICIOUS!!! Please order those. The grill cheese was good, but needed a little more cheese for that gooey touch. I would definitely go back.

First time to The Battery... There were 7 of us who went to watch the Super Bowl. Very clean upscale sports bar. Drinks were great and the Brussel sprouts were fabulous... one of my favorites. Made with whipped goat cheese and pomegranates. The burger was absolutely delicious.... Maybe I was just hungry lol. Our waitress was wonderful, I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. Always made sure our drinks were filled. Would I go back? Yes indeed! Everyone in the party was happy with their food and the service.

Went on a date here and had a great experience. We sat at the bar and Kaylee was an amazing bartender--very attentive and gave great menu suggestions. The ambiance was nice, super clean, and I loved the glass windows and heated outdoor patio. The Paloma and Blood Orange Margarita were both excellent (adding pineapple juice was a game changer!). We had the Seared King Salmon and the Brisket Grilled Cheese--both were fresh and delicious. The broccolini was a bit salty, but overall everything was a hit. I'll definitely be back!

This is a great spot. They have a nice patio but the inside is fairly open air as well if you don't want to sit outside. They were really busy bust service was fast and the food came out in an appropriate amount of time. We really enjoyed it food. I had the blackened fish sandwich with the conecuh sausage collard greens. The collards were amazing. Probably some of the best I've ever had. My husband had the smash burger. The thin patty's were nice and crispy. The French fries were kinda meh I'd sub for the collards again. We both agreed that our sandwiches could have used a pinch more salt but they were still really good.

Nice spot to grab a quick lunch. They have a nice outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. Ordered the smoked wings with broccoli. The broccoli had a nice taste. Wish the wings were cooked a little longer in my opinion

I was greeted, seated and served water immediately by a friendly employee. This spot has a sports bar, casual, laid back vibe with a menu to back that up. Wings, fried pickles, house made pimento cheese and crispy Brussel sprouts are just a few of the yummy looking appetizers. Your choices vary from soups, salads handhelds or a full entree with sides on their menu and there is something for everyone. On this cool November day, and following the advice of several Yelper's reviews, I opted for a cup of Tomato Soup and their Brisket Grill Cheese, $15. It was a home run and the very warm tomato soup was lovely on this cool, autumn day. I enjoyed the addition of crispy fried okra garnish to the soup- very creative! The cheese brisket grilled cheese was also very good and know that the tender brisket has a slightly sweet leaning flavor. A delicious lunch!

Ambience is great inside and outside area. We sat outside and they have TV so you can watch sports games. Service was great, never had to ask refills on drinks as out wait staff was very diligent. Food was really good, just wished the wings were a little more crispy, but the flavor was there. Will definitely be back when visiting in the area. Everyone in our group was happy with their dishes.

The atmosphere was great really enjoyed the vibe. The food itself wasn't overly special. I wasn't disappointed, just not thrilled either. The Parmesan fries were the standout and were actually pretty good. Overall I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5, but since I can't do half stars, I'll round as fairly as I can. I do think there's more on the menu worth trying, and if I come back I'll be sure to update this rating. The host and server were both great, though, friendly, attentive, and definitely a highlight of the visit.

I don't really have any complaints on The Battery. We stopped in for an early Wednesday lunch around 11:30 and were told that there would be a 20 min wait unless we were okay with bar seating. We were fine with that, but it was shocking to hear they had a wait. I believe that is their norm. We started with the mozzarella logs. The in house vodka sauce they serve with it made it delicious. I got the smash burger. It was good. Nothing to brag or complain about.

It was Super Bowl Sunday and I decided to try a new restaurant. There was 7 of us ladies and it was the first time for everyone. I got there early so I could get a table. The host was quick to seat me. I started with a blood orange margarita. It was very tasty. Some of the ladies for old fashions that were smoking when they clacked to the table. I loved the presentation. I also had a glass of moscato. I started with the mozzarella sticks with vodka sauce. I found this to be unique because at other restaurants you get marina sauce. Some of the ladies got pimento cheese and brussels sprouts as appetizers. I ordered the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich. There was blue cheese crumbles on the sandwich which really elevated it to another level. He came with ranch, but I did ask for blue cheese dressing. The Parmesan fries were absolutely delicious. I still can't believe I have never visited this establishment, but I definitely will be back sooner than later. Jessica was our server and she was extremely attentive and friendly.

Went here one afternoon after looking for a new place to stay and it was pretty packed. I went with my mom and our waitress was very nice and attentive. However, we weren't really a fan of the food. We shared the korean bbq wings that were way too salty and the caesar salad was a little on the sweet side. The fries were really good though! My mom also liked her wedge salad. I would still go back though to try other things and because the place had a good vibe.

Also, these are the best fries I have had in Birmingham if you are looking for a plant-based option here. When I ordered, I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome. She told me it would be right out, and my order was given to me within 5 minutes. Besides the great food, the ambience is the best part of this place! There is an upstairs area with additional seating, and the interior of the restaurant is covered with vintage, American decor. Located across from Planet Fitness and beside Davenport's Pizza, they share a fun common area with Taco Mama and Paneras. There's plenty of tables outside with artificial tuff and kids toys for entertainment. There's also comfortable indoor seating if you want to keep away from the outside heat or cold. The tables are bare so you have to head to the cleanup kiosk by the entrance to get your napkins, cutlery, cups of ketchup and packets of mustard. In another corner is a large upright cooler that houses the bottled water and canned drinks. Finally there's a large counter to place and pick up your order with a large viewable kitchen directly behind. The Standard is owned by a Korean couple, Young Shin and Kookie Kim. This the second Standard with the first being in the Pizitz Food Hall downtown across from the McWane Center. They make their beef fresh from scratch every morning and want to be "honest" with their food. Being newly open, the dining room is immaculate. There are not many decorations on the walls as two walls of their dining room are clear glass which makes the dining room look much bigger and brighter. Their menu is the definition of simplicity. 3 categories: Under Burger & Sandwiches they have: Cheeseburger, Black Bean Veggie Burger, Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Fried Bologna, Pilly Cheesesteak & Chicken sandwich. Under Hot Dogs: Birmingham Dog, Grilled Cheese & Plain Dog. Under Add-Ons: Fried Egg, Bacon, Smashed Avocado, Pickled Jalapenos, Grilled Onions, Sauerkraut, etc. Paul and Linh both got a Cheeseburger. It looks Yuge and must've been good because they both finished it. Matthew got the Patty melt. It was also big with 2 burger patties mashed together between 2 buttered slices of bread, pimento cheese and onions. Tammy tried the Philly cheesesteak. The slices of meat were smoothered with white american cheese, grilled onions and drizzled with garlic aoli. It was pretty good. I tried their Chicken sandwich. My piece of chicken was Yuge! It was nicely breaded and fried. It's nice when the chicken is larger than the buns which were buttered and lightly toasted. With the mayo and pickles, it was one of the better chicken sandwiches I've eaten. Finally we all shared a large order of their tater tots. I love tater tots and these were hot out of the fryer Yom Yom good! A prickly afterthought was the fact they add a 3.5% non-cash fee. So if you're paying with anything other than cash, you will be billed an additional 3.5%. So for my total of $34.50, my fee was $1.21. No big deal.
