All that I can say is that EVERYTHING is delicious!!!! And I KNOW FOOD!!!! The seasonal cake is strawberry . How can anything with cake, whipped cream and strawberries be anything but FABULOUS!!!!! The chicken salad on wheat bread is always on my list! The nightly specials are not only delicious but economical!! And NO DISHES to Wash!!!! Dessert heaven! Currently dreaming about the chocolate mousse bomb, turtle cheesecake, and chocolate ganache cake!

We stopped for lunch during work one day and I was so happy with the food! I had a grilled pimento cheese sandwich and it was amazing. With fresh fruit on the side, the cost was less than $10. If I wasn't diabetic, I'd have dessert - that's the real attraction!! Almond cake or one of their chocolate selections - it all looks amazing! I'll be back! read more

Ok, so full disclosure, this place is just a little to convenient especially if you are in the mood for something sweet to top off a lunch or dinner you have had at one of the many local restaurants or have just finished dining here. This is one of those places you kind of wish you don't discover because once you do you will be haunted with the visions, smells and tastes of the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE BOMB (It really deserves to have all caps when typing it out). This is one of those sweets, that once it gets in your head, your life will not be the same until you finally submit to the voice in your head demanding the sweet fix that can only be resolved with the moist, chocolatey, chocolate filled (chocolate syrup), chocolate glazed.....chocolate everything that is the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE BOMB. So you don't believe me....try it, I dare you. Join all of us that have dared to sample it in the past to only leave us wanting it at 11:31 on a Thursday night and no possible way of fixing this craving that has been put upon me by writing this review. So, it is now apparent that my lunch plans for tomorrow, will hopefully lead me into Vestavia so that this craving can be fulfilled by the one and only thing that will put me at peace.....CHOCOLATE MOUSSE BOMB! I read reviews, researched vendors required by the venue, and met with the owner of Everything Iz Catering, which ultimately led to our decision to use them for my daughter's wedding. I was embarrassed and disappointed with the food prepared for our guests. The grilled chicken was refrigerator cold and the hamburger sliders and sweet potato fries were also cold. The only thing warm was the macaroni and cheese and corn fritters. The fruit and cheese tray was pretty, but not good. There was a kitchen at the venue, but never used to warm the food. They put dessert plates out for the buffet meal. When I asked about the plates, they said that's all they had. When it was time to slice the wedding cake, I had to look for one of the servers, and she said they thought we were supposed to have someone do that, and I told her we were told they would slice the cake for us. She put on some gloves and sliced the cake after I insisted. The plates left for serving the cake were the luncheon plates, which should've been used for the buffet lunch! Then, one of our guests informed us that the hot chocolate was burning. No one ate the food. They did enjoy the hot chocolate bar before it started burning. I had the venue employee toss the leftovers they packed up into the garbage. They're still married. It was a beautiful day. It's just disheartening when you pay so much money for catering such a special event, and it doesn't turn out like you expected. I contacted the owner and she finally called back. She apologized and admitted that they messed up. She offered some amount of a refund, but I haven't seen it. Bad business, bad food, and dishonest... That's putting it kindly. read more

Food came out quickly. The chicken salad plate was very good. A scoop of chicken salad, fresh fruit, and pumpkin bread for $7 was a good deal. In three visits, the fruit has always been fresh. The restaurant also has soups and a variety of deli-style sandwiches. Cafe Iz sells homemade cakes and other baked goods, along with a few varities of coffee. Desserts, scones, and muffins are all amazing. Lunch items are great too - chicken salad, pimiento cheese, thai chicken wrap, southwestern wrap, quesadillas, etc. are all wonderful. Plus, the sweet potato chips usually come as a side and they are super tasty. My only complaint is that every time I get a latte it tastes different. Sometimes it is perfect. But not always. They have several different people making the coffee in the mornings so I guess they all just prepare their lattes differently? Wish it was consistent but I'll keep on going because they have such great food. read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. The staff is always friendly and takes care of their regulars. The turkey Reuben is made with sautéed cabbage and turkey with Italian dressing and marbled rye. The farm fresh egg sandwich is a BLT with a fried egg on a croissant bun. Both are so freaking good. They are known for their pimento cheese and chicken salad. Both are good. The sweet potato chips you can order as a side or by the bagful. The baked goods are actually very well balanced. While everything looks like it would overly sweet, they manage to find a nice balance of sugar so as not to put you in a sweetness overload. read more

I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant with their home-made sweet potato chips. I am a huge fan! The chicken salad had good sized pieces of crisp, Granny Smith apple along with walnuts and a not-too-overwhelming amount of mayo. The hand-cut sweet potato chips were perfect. Light, crisy and NOT greasy at all. I cannot speak to the baked goods but wow, they had a lot in their cases - muffins, scones, cupcakes, brownies, cakes, quick breads... Definitely give this place a try if you are looking for a quick, tasty lunch or a mid-afternoon coffee break. read more

The food is actually good. The bad thing is they keep shrinking serving sizes. I use to always get pieces of cake and muffins there, but they aren't nearly as big anymore. This becomes a problem when you are paying $4.00 for a single piece. The other thing is most of the people that work there are nice, but there are a few that have no clue what they are doing. Need more training. Again, good food but the servings for the price and the inconsistent service has forced me to frequent this place less over the last few months. read more
