The first time I had BRGRBELLY was through delivery and I had the Amazing Grace and the sweet potato nuggets. Both were amazing so I had to come and dine in (and I brought my boyfriend and his dad)! They both enjoyed their food plus the starters. We ate everything besides two jalapeño poppers but took it to go. Garlic Parmesan fries were yummy! They had so many delivery orders while we were there, plus a large group dining in. It's not a big place so I think that speaks on how great it is there. This place is a must visit! They have lots of incredible food on their menu, especially their burger was always creative and delicious. I love the options to swap out the beef patty. My favorite is the Too Gouda to be True with a grilled chicken breast. I'm also a fan of their sides but caution against them if you are picking up as they may be soggy by the time you get home. Super fun burger options, but hit or miss service. We like to call ahead to order our takeout so it's ready when we get there obviously, but their phone always rings and rings and rings, and no one picks up. They also don't always cook their burgers to appropriate temps. My husband's medium burger has been closer to rare a handful of times, which is weird when the vast majority of what you cook is burgers at your restaurant. We love them for a fast casual place, and we'll definitely continue to return, just with appropriate expectations in mind. They do have $6 burgers (any of them on the menu!) and BOGO free deals running weekly if you sign up for their newsletter, which is obviously worth it. PLUS THEIR BUTTER COOKIES. Swoon. They'll bring your food to you, which is a nice touch. They have several burgers (and beers!) to choose from. I would compare the theme and the creativity to be like Kumas. The restaurant has a metal music kind of vibe and the burgers are no exception. I had: Black betty burger, since I'm a sucker for bleu cheese. The burger had smoked bacon, bleu cheese, homemade fried onion straws, buffalo bleu sauce Easy Rider burger. This burger had smoked bacon, homemade sriracha pickles, cheddar cheese, bourbon bbq sauce. I liked the black betty burger over this one. with a side of Belly fries, which consisted of diced pork belly, homemade crispy onion straws, carolina mustard sauce. Honestly, although I love pork belly, I'm not a fan of this, as the overall impression for me, was a soggy mess of fries with too many toppings. This place has a nice outdoor patio right along busy Irving Park Rd. Once you're done with your meal, leave it at the table and be on your merry way. A cozy kinda restaurant with a few tables, a large flat screen playing concerts and music was kept low. (If it was loud on other nights okay. On this night with those working, in this small space I don't see how anyone would stomach blaring music.) Me and sis enjoyed some good food while her little kids rocked to the music playing off the television. Their burgers are huge. I could have shared a combination with her and been fine. I brought it to their attention twice over a year ago and they said they would be removing it, but didn't, so we quit giving them our business. Decided to try again after a year and they are STILL charging the sodas tax. Sixteen cents seems unimportant, but every customer paying it for the six years since it was abolished by the city adds up a lot. It is clearly intentional business decision since it has been brought to their attention. Sad because it is good food, but we won't support an unethical business. Lovely neighborhood burger joint! I hate to compare restaurants to each other, but it does remind me of Kuma's corner (rock theme and dark restaurant and AMAZING burgers!). Unlike Kuma's this place is a counter service establishment. Once you order, someone will bring your order out to you. The restaurant is very small and it can get packed and busy (so if you can, have a friend save you a seat while you order!). During the summer, there's outdoor seating, so it adds a few tables. I ordered the black belly burger and it was so savory and delicious! The bacon, bleu cheese and onion straws made the burger enormous! Not bad for ~$10 burger! The parmesan garlic fries were just as good! Also, it was nice that they gave us a cookie with our order :) what a plus! Unfortunately, there's only street parking (free 1 hour parking out front) and I believe there are some free parking on the side streets if you want to stay longer. read more

The wife and I have been going to BrgrBelly for years, since it opened as "Leadbelly," which is a much better name, but caused a cease and desist order from the estate of Huddie Ledbetter. The burger options are outstanding, the buns freshly baked, the fries come in endless variations and are appropriately crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The only reasons we're not giving it five stars are the limited seating, which is problematic if you live more than a few minutes away, since the attraction is fresh, hot and tasty food. It's a 15 minute drive for us, too long for carry-out, so we have to try and find times when they're not too busy to find a seat. The other reason is the music. It's a small space, and the younger staff have a higher tolerance for high decibel rock and blues. However, I've never met with resistance when asking them to turn the damn thing down. Maybe an eyeroll, but not usually even that. Prices are extremely reasonable given the quality. read more

Absolutely adored my experience here. The vibes here are so relaxing. My mom had the Amazing Grace and I quote "it was so good!" I am vegan and Jesus recommended I get the Leadbelly Burger and substitute a couple of items to create a delicious vegan concoction. They have a decent selection of beers. I got the Gumballhead which paired perfectly with my Vegan meal. Each burger comes with a homemade sugar cookie. Unfortunately the cookie isn't vegan, but that just means my momma got to enjoy two delicious cookies. I definitely will be returning, even if it's just to listen to some Journey and watch recordings of concerts. Love this place!! read more

I have driven by this place hundreds of times, but finally got around to stopping in. First off, this is a specialty burger place- meaning that the menu is burgers, fries, and drinks only. There are several different choices for burgers, but not so many that it's overwhelming. As these are specialty crafted, your wait for a burger (depending on how busy it is) will be around 15-20 minutes. The small wait is worth it though. The burger was delicious and after eating the entire thing, I never wanted to eat again because I was so full. I definitely recommend splitting fries because the burgers are huge- but you're going to want to try the fries. trust me. The inside of the restaurant is cool- different recorded concerts playing on the TVs and photos of musicians on the walls. We had fun playing the trivia (some cards are on each table). This is a really cool burger place with a rock and roll theme. Pictures of some of the greatest are on the walls on the large screens and the menu items are appropriately named. Went here recently and had the Amazing Grace which is smoked pork belly on top of the burger with homemade onion straws, homemade Sriracha pickles, with a garden mustard cream sauce. The other burger that we had was the Easy Rider which is smoked bacon, more bacon, cheddar cheese, homemade Sriracha pickles with a bourbon BBQ sauce. My favorite is the Easy Rider. Don't forget to get an order of the homemade fries they are awesome and in my opinion do not need any other sauces on them I always get them plain. They also have a great selection of bottled and tap beers wine and sodas. They give you a free butter cookie pet plate, be sure to make sure thou get one, thru are awesome! They forgot to give all of is one, but quickly corrected the mistake whee asked. They also give you a card for one free scoop of ice cream from Molly and Myles thay is nearby. This place is amazing. One of the best burgers I had in a while. We ordered the midnight special, too Gouda be true, easy rider and rising Sun. My favorite was midnight special with the garlic parmesan fries and all meals come with a butter cookie. I also enjoyed a strawberry house milkshake and ice cold root beer. After fish on Friday, I was ready for a juicy burger and Amazing Grace hit all the right notes. From first bite to last it was delicious and so were the parmesan fries. After reviewing the menu, the bears burger just sounded too good to pass up and boy was I right! Burger sitting on top of house slaw topped with BBQ ribs and onion. It just SOUNDED right! Every bite was an explosion of flavor! The perfect crunch and tanginess of the slaw with the perfectly cooked burger complemented with a moderately sweet BBQ sauce and slightly salty crunch of onion straws all in between a soft, moist homemade poppyseed bun. The owner came to our table and was nice and conversational and explained how they made the buns. We also split an order of blue cheese fries which tasted good as well. So I am a little frustrated at this place. I grew up literally one block away from this place (Menard and Belle Plaine), and when i move out of the neighborhood, some awesome shops and eateries open up. BRGRBelly is one of them. This place looks like it would be fairly large, but the inside is quite small, with not much seating. Which kind of sucks because this place can get busy quick. My boyfriend and I came here 30 minutes after they opened, and were able to sit along the window. He ordered the Amazing Grace burger and I had the Black Betty along with the bleu cheese fries. We only had to wait 10 minutes to get our food. The burger was simply delicious. I'll admit it wasn't the best burger i had, but for the price, I got my monies worth. I should also mention that they have TVs on the wall, and were playing a RHCP concert on them. After a classic 'where do we eat' debacle, we stumbled upon Brgrbelly and to our surprise had the absolute time of our lives. A nice thick and hearty burger for the man and a wet flavorful beyond burger for the lady. The food came out fast just how we like it. The garlic butter bombs were flavorful and the spicy fried pickles were perfectly crisp yet juicy. The burgers came with complimentary cookies, two for the lady because she was extra hot. Unfortunately, the man is allergic to nuts (beware they definitely did not tell us there were nuts in these jawns). Whilst eating the delectable meal, an employee inserted a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers DVD and as the orgasmic bites were taken, Free Falling played in the back like a scene in a movie. The lady nearly squirted like the mayo that oozed out of her burger. After many huffs and puffs of gobbling their supper, the couple was extremely satisfied.
