I've tried some of their pastries in the past and they were pretty average. Perhaps they are fresher in the morning, but when I've had them they're on the brink of becoming stale and dry. On the plus, they do look amazing and the inside is very open and spacious. The staff were friendly but I didn't know I could heat up the food until a friend told me. I've gotten a too good to go box from here and the staff took a while to acknowledge me, despite not being busy and coming at the requested time. It turns out they didn't know what the program was and also didn't have anything prepared. When I did get my box ready, it was all one item despite having multiple types left in the case, and only 4 small rolls. I know I wasn't my choice when I chose a too good to go option but some variety would have been nice. The sparkling tea was okay, but I think a little overpriced for how much ice and the flavor. There wasn't much carbonation and also not strong enough strawberry flavor for what I was expecting. It was very refreshing but you could finish it within just a few sips. The jelly was good, but hard to get to through the ice once you sip down the tea. Overall, very nice aesthetic and cute, but the drinks are a little overpriced and the pastries are just okay and hit or miss. The customer service is average and sometimes a little disappointing. I would come back to try some of the pastries others have recommended earlier in the morning.
My coffee drink quest brought me here and I had a delicious coffee crush! I wanted a pastry but I didn't get one be side they weee so huge and I decided to wait til someone went with me to share, however they are all gorgeous and I look forward to going back. This is in a location with plenty of parking and plenty of room in a wide open space. Will definitely go back for another coffee crush and maybe pastry!
What a lovely place to meet up with friends, study or work or simply pause during the day! I met a friend at 3:30 in the afternoon and the parking lot was almost full - fortunately, they have lots of seating! Our lattes were really good but what I really liked were the help yourself pastry cases. Simply pick up a tray, select what you'd like, and take it up to the counter to pay. Can't wait to go back!
Definitely a top spot to grab a sweet treat when I'm in Cary! I'm a fan of both their boba & pastries. This time, we got the Boba Brown Sugar Matcha Latte (could definitely taste the matcha, which was great) & the Tiramisu Paradise (which was my favorite). Also tried a walnut pistachio bread (the best pastry I've had in a long time!), ube bun (loved how strong the ube flavor was), and an Oreo bun. The ambiance is really nice: lots of tables, actually seems like a good place to study. Really big parking lot. Service is fast & very nice: I belatedly realized that I'd said the wrong thing for my sister's drink order, and they were happy to add matcha to a drink that was already made, which was so appreciated! 10/10 would recommend!
I stopped by Brecotea with a few friends on a Saturday night when we were craving something sweet after dinner. I was surprised by how spacious it was--tons of seating, and it seems like a great place to hang out or even get some work done during the day. Since we showed up later in the evening, a lot of the pastries were already gone, so we didn't get to see the full variety. I grabbed a slice of the mango cake, and it was really good--super light and not overly sweet. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll try to come earlier to check out more of their selection!
Brecotea is an Asian style bakery & cafe that serves asian style desserts (lighter and less sweet) and drinks. Upon entering you'll see the counter where you can order drinks and special cakes and if you look left you'll see the desserts in a glass window where they are self-serve. There is lots of seating if you choose to dine inside. I haven't tried any of the drinks before but lots of them look pretty good. You can order via their website which is what I did. I also picked up a Too Good To Go order. The service is pretty good and the inside feels comfortable and cozy but a lot of the desserts are hit or miss. The bread doesn't feel very light, airy, or spongy as you'd find with other asian style bakeries and their breads and buns. The bread and buns at Brecotea feel more bready and a bit more dense. The hours here are very good as they're open until 9:30p or so.
I had a sweet tooth and stopped in on a Saturday for some items to go. It was busy, as usual. I opted for a slice of the Black Forest cake and the ube and red bean buns. My favorite of the pick was the ube bun-so delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. The Black Forest cake was delicate and delicious, but I would have loved a stronger chocolate flavor. I'd definitely get the ube bun again.
I stopped in on a Thursday evening before the holiday. The place had plenty of patrons and it didn't take me long to learn why. First, the friendly staff greeted me with a warm welcome as soon as I walked through the entrance -- that kind of genuine charm is so underrated these days. There were lots of tea options and many unique bakery offerings, such as hot dog danishes, Oreo buns, a curry baked good, a beautiful purple-hued blueberry cake -- just to name a few. Patrons were filling their bamboo-style trays with baked goods from the self-serve glass case. Although the blueberry cake, strawberry cup, and Oreo bun were calling my name, I didn't indulge in baked goods -- maybe next time. I ordered a chai tea with a "spot of milk." The ambience was nice both inside and out, so I sat for a while indoors then moved outdoors to the bistro tables to finish my beverage. I will definitely come back -- seems like a fun environment to make hum-drum routine work tasks less drudgery. Also a nice place to catch up with a friend over coffee!
Always solid pastries and boba here! The pastries/breads are self-serve using provided tongs and trays and you pay at the counter where you can also order drinks. We got the taro bun and pork floss bun. The bread on both was super fluffy. The pork floss bun had a perfect balance of salty and sweet. The taro filling was delicious as well. I also got the jasmine milk tea at 50% sweetness with boba which was super fragrant and the tea flavor was amazing. The boba were soft and chewy and the overall sweetness ended up being perfect. Staff were friendly and our drinks were prepared quickly. There was plenty of indoor seating and it looked like a nice place to study/work as well.
Looks like one of the popular go-to's of any age bracket. They have a huge selection of pastries, cakes and drinks. It reminds me of another popular French cafe but this location has more tables and can accommodate larger groups. There were 10 of us and we were able to enjoy al fresco! Anyway, I loveee pastries and while I don't think they offer the best ones, their Paradise drinks make up for it! I had two of the same item in one sitting plus coffee! Although the same drink, somehow tasted different, definitely done by two different people with one being generous and all-in the standard ingredients. Check out their front door for deals on some days. Maybe hard to find parking on rush hours so prepare to wait. Went there just before dinnertime.
I came here for the first time a few days ago and I ordered a chicken sandwich while my siblings got boba tea. The chicken sandwich was amazing, my only issue with it was that I asked for it to be toasted and the chicken was still very cold after it was heated up. I wish it was heated a little bit longer. I tried both the boba teas and they were both pretty good. Price is sorta up there for the drinks but reasonable for the food. I came around 3:30pm and a good amount of food was already out so I'd recommend coming earlier. The food came out quickly and I enjoyed the ambiance of the dining area. I'll definitely be back!
Went here to get coffee after the kids eat ice cream from Goodberry's. It's a nice clean place to stop over and get pastries! They offer both savory pastries and majority sweets. I particularly love a bread that is not sweet so this is not my taste. But love their Strawberry cake cups!!! They offer a variety of drinks from coffee to bobas. The people are friendly but they're pretty busy when we were there. The pastries look pretty. Not overly sweet so it fits my taste :) This reminds me of our Asian bakery but this one is spacious and a lot of seating.

I've been to Brecotea a few times and I do enjoy coming. My favorite thing to get is the chicken curry donut and the pineapple bun. They have a large variety of flavors and types of buns/bread to choose from along with desserts(cake) and milk tea. I usually go for the buns because I enjoy them the most. The only reason I'm taking one star off is because I don't like some of their classics. The egg tart I got one time was not the best and the red bean bun filling was not my favorite (also there wasn't much in it). My recommendation is to just try because they have good buns! You just have to find one you like. The people at the counter are super nice and they are helpful if trays run out. The store can get a little busy so there's not always seating on the weekend during lunch but the line to checkout moves quickly. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Have been there a couple of times & each time it was disappointing. Firstly, the set-up is chaotic with multiple lines forming, people milling around & no clear direction on where to place the order. Is it at the front registers? At the kiosks? At the ice cream or bakery case? The drinks. It would be helpful to have descriptions of the different drinks. For example, what's a Paradise tea? Each time we've been there, the drinks were inconsistently made. Tonight there was confusion behind the counter as I saw my 1 drink being passed back & forth between 3 people at different steps of the process. Why the confusion?? Weren't they trained? The mango yogurt drink was supposed to come with boba...& we didn't get any boba. My Avocado Paradise Tea for some strange reason had salted mixed nuts on top of the whipped cream. That wouldn't be a pleasant surprise to suck thru my boba straw. There also needed to be a warning label for nut allergies because who on earth expects salted almonds and peanuts on their Paradise Tea?!?! Picking up the drinks was another fiasco. They place the completed drinks on the counter next to the register and condiments. While they do call out the order # & name, the person that they had doing so, looked down and mumbled behind her face mask. No one heard her. As a result, multiple people came up along picked up the drinks to see if it was their order. With covid still around, I personally don't want extra people handling my drinks & food. Food - The Mille crepe cakes are just meh. The matcha one had decent flavor but the mango one clearly lacked mango flavor. It was also very pricey at $6.99 for what you get. The self service pastries are all just ok...nothing spectacular. There were also some mystery pastries on the front counter. They were packaged but had absolutely no labeling on them. Not a fan & not my choice to come here since there are better options and better run establishments. read more

Hi,…
I really wanted to like it. It's fancy, the decor is nice, the space is spacious and the desserts on display look amazing! But when we went, service was super slow, not very friendly and the boba was disappointing. So, I ordered their cocoa paradise that was on their special menu at the counter. The girl who took my order wasn't the friendliest and it ended up taking over 20 mins for my boba drink to be ready. And then when I did get my boba drink, the boba was so hot that it made my cold drink not so cold but rather lukewarm. Not ideal. Plus, the boba was over cooked and just mushy. Maybe their non-boba drinks are better? I bought a few bakery items from them but wasn't that impressed. Honestly, I've made better milk bread at home. Might I also mention that I went when it was not very busy so I was really surprised it took so long to get my drink. My friend got a milk tea with boba and her order took just as long as my "special" drink. So, definitely not a place to grab a drink on the go. I'll have to pass on their boba drinks next time I come. Instead I'll have to try their dessert pastries, which looked good on display, and perhaps just a simple hot tea to go along with my pastry. Maybe I'll have better luck next time around. read more

Hi Monica,…
Brecotea is a bright cafe offering Asian desserts and pastries. There are lots of tables inside, but it can get pretty busy after dinner. We ordered the Strawberry Mini Puff and Black Milk Tea with brown sugar boba. The Strawberry Mini Puff definitely looked better than it tasted -- it probably would've been better if it was served more cold. We did appreciate that the cream on top wasn't too sweet. The Black Milk Tea was pretty standard and slightly watered down, nothing amazing. Overall, there's a lot of space and options to choose from at Brecotea. We'd recommend coming back to try a pastry or dessert but would probably pass on their drinks. read more

Are you missing that little something that you grew up loving but moved out and been looking for that nostalgic place in your new place? Well, this place was like that for me. When I saw the pictures on Facebook about how the pastries look like, I knew I had to explore. Getting to the location was easy and I love that there's plenty of parking, the building is gorgeous and it has a tasteful design in shrubbery. What appealed to me the most is the fact that you can serve yourself baked goodies, the price of the pastries, and the generous size! If you haven't seen them, you need to!!! I love the Asian flavours that they offer among the traditional too. I normally cook my own pandan and ube flavour pastries but it is very refreshing to see these being sold. Another additional one is the durian. I had to try it since I don't like to cut it fresh. The dough was fluffy, the durian cream was light and creamy. My girls got the chocolate pastry with chocolate cream and Oreo. The dough is the same, light and fluffy and the cream is chocolatey, light and creamy. The best part of the pastry is the fact that it is not too sweet! I also got additional pastries to try later. I can't wait to dig my teeth into them. I love that this establishment reminds me of my hometown Chinatown pastries. We also had the bubble teas, milk tea, milk cap and milkshakes. Everything was fresh and delicious! I got the milk tea Yeu Yeung cold with bubbles and herbal jelly. My girls got a mango with milk cap with bubbles and jelly, chocolate milkshake and rainbow sherbet milkshake. The teas are not too sweet and the milkshakes were deliciously creamy! Planning on returning again to get the Mile high crepes and other cakes. read more

Stopped in here after running the water for the people 5K race and Apex I had won a gift certificate had never been here before It was pretty awesome it's self-service where you select the different pastry items that you want and then they offer all different types of teas and coffees that you can get as well It was a super quick in and out experience I tried the coconut custard pastry absolutely delicious they had some pretty creative stuff in their case definitely not the place you want to go if you're on a low calorie diet but it's a great place to go if you're treating yourself for doing amazing job running read more
This is the countless time that I come here for some Asian inspired bread and drink. I've been once when they are putting out newly baked goods, that feeling is great! My normal go-to is pork floss, but didn't feel like picking them up today, and the strawberry football bread is something I've seen the first time. Please try the matcha Mille crepe cake, I'm sure one would like it! Nothing can go wrong with cream and matcha, plus it's not over priced for a Mille crepe cake. My friend really loves the strawberry cream roll and the Oreo roll, so I got some for her as well. Great seating area for individual and small or big groups, although some seats could have shoe print on them.... Staffs are nice, read more
I'm happy to say that I finally got to see this place at its best... well stocked, and hopping with a ton of customers! I stopped in mid-day, around 2:30 pm, and there was a good number of customers scattered throughout this lofty cafe. Just as I remembered, the place is totally cool, chic and modern...and unlike last time, they were stocked with plenty of impressive pastries! Most impressive of all? They had a variety of Mille Crepe Cakes!!! These are one of many innovative Japanese desserts that I've been lusting over lately... Well, I tried their Matcha version...and it was DEE-Lish! A tad creamier than the version I had in Duluth...but not as thick and glutinous as I had feared. I also bought several luscious pastry items to go (haven't tried these as of yet, but they're boxed up to eat when I return home tomorrow). As for the drink, I also decided to repeat this "Orchid Oolong" Milk Tea with Boba...AMAZING flavor! So I've only tried this one flavor, but I sense that this place makes damn-good flavored teas. Service is really good here. Friendly and helpful...but i did notice that service tends to be slow here. Just like last time I was here, the tea making process is achingly slow. At least 10 minutes...if not more? However, everything is SO fresh...and SO delicious, it's worth it. After today's visit, I'm definitely a fan...and am glad I can easily up my ratings to 5 stars. Can't wait to return! read more

Hey Rose,…
Beautiful place with aesthetic interiors, as well as drinks and desserts. As for the taste, it's pretty average. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. I got the matcha crepe cake, which barely had a matcha taste. The crepe layers and the icing/cream in between the layers were too dense and got too overwhelming to eat in one sitting. I also got the matcha purple potato drink with boba. Their boba was really good - cooked to perfection, soft but chewy, and sweet. I could actually taste the matcha and the purple potato. I wish the purple potato was blended more because there were hard chunks and towards the end, some of the purple potato couldn't even fit through the straw for me to drink. It seems like a good place to study/do work, but the desserts/drinks are a bit pricey given the taste. read more

Highly recommend the strawberry dessert- we arrived at 10:30 and it was almost gone from the display cases (not sure how often they refill/make more each day). It was really loud and noisy for first thing on a Saturday morning, during the week is probably nicer for being able to carry on a conversation with someone. They did have outdoor seating, tea and coffee options are great. This was a fun experience overall, would come back during a less busier time to enjoy the moment more. read more
This is a really neat spot so I'm glad we checked it out. Unfortunately we got there around 12:30 and most of the pastries were gone so it left us with very limited options. There is a dessert case as well for cold desserts but it was pretty crowded so it was hard to see while we were there. I would like to try a different drink and come back again at a better time of day! I would aim to get there early for more pastry options read more
This place is easy on the eyes and offers deletable desserts and pastries. My daughter enjoyed being able to select her own pastries; perhaps I let her go overboard in the selections. Days later and we were unsuccessful in finishing off our dessert box. The boba selection is decent but the flavor profiles are mid at best & the boba was kinda hard. read more
Someone that I follow on Instagram posted about Brecotea one Saturday morning. The pictures of the pastries looked so good that I had to go and find this establishment. Once I got there... I was truly amazed at the array of goodies that they had to offer. I couldn't help myself, so I got a variety. Everything was simply amazing! read more

I live in va where there is 2 other locations. This one is the original. It's pretty big compare to the other 2. Everything is very consistent with all locations. This one does have ice cream and milkshake which the others don't have. We didn't care do the strawberry milkshake instead we recommend the strawberry paradise. Mango milk cap can't go wrong if you like tropical fruits read more

I'm totally a fan of Brecotea! Coming from northern VA... we have these type of places everywhere and I can safely say..... it's as good as and even better than most spots found in the Northern VA area. Yes shocking that this can be found here in Cary NC .. Definitely give the durian flavored desserts a try! They arent over powering and doesnt have the awful smell associated with fresh durian! Instead it has a rich sweet flavor which you get from fresh durian minus the smell :-) So if you always wanted to try durian but was scared ... this is a place to try it in their desserts! They have so many to choose from including their egg tarts! But go early for the egg tarts cause they sell out fast ! The rest of their desserts are amazing also and so are their drinks! Definitely coming back for more ! read more

The place had a wonderful ambience and was big and roomy! I got the Yuen Using milk tea with herbal jelly and my friend got the same but with Boba. Somehow our order was a bit of a mixup where we both got herbal jelly and boba. The milk tea portion was good however. We also got to try their matcha crepe, mango crepe, and assorted buns. Matcha crepe could be a little sweeter to balance off the bitterness of the Matcha on top in my opinion. Took off one star because my order was wrong and we didn't realize until we got home since we got everything to go, but this is the only bubble tea place that comes with so many pastry assortments that it's worth a visit to try their baked goods! read more

Brecotea is the perfect spot to eat and drink! The contemporary establishment is aesthetically modern with refreshing decor with lots of seating and tables. This trendy place features a pastry and bread case where you can pick out what you want to eat. I would recommend the pineapple bun, custard bun, and pork floss bun as they're all fluffy and light. The buns are also milky and soft. Besides bread and pastries, Brecotea offers crepe cakes in a variety of flavors. The matcha cake has an authentic taste while also being really creamy. To add a note, this establishment takes extra measures with Sanitization during covid pandemic. There is a hand washing station with hand sanitizer. The associate is the only one that can open the encased pastry display. The pastry trays are aseptically wiped down after each customer. I tried the Brown Sugar Boba and the Kiwi Pineapple refresher with boba and jelly, which was made from fresh kiwi and now has became my favorite drink. If you want a welcoming atmosphere with helpful staff, delicious baked items along with boba tea, in a super modernized cafe setting, then please go to Brecotea, great lounge to meet up with friends and family. I would recommend going early to get fresh pastries and bread as they stop baking after 8pm. So far their two weeks since the grand opening has been very popular and pastries sells out really fast! Customer service is friendly and helpful. The associate handling the pastry station took the time to explain the different variety of the pastries. read more

I had dinner with a friend last night and wanted dessert. I was craving boba and this was the closest place that wasn't going to close in 5 minutes lol. It's such a cute place with a calming aesthetic. It's a bakery and Cafe so they had a lot of different baked good options and cakes. Everything looked so delicious. It was about 30 minutes until closing so I feel like a lot of bread options were missing but what was there still looked delicious. I'm a chocolate girlie so I had to get a slice of mousse cake. I took it home to share with my daughter and she was fighting me for it ! She doesn't care for nuts but I LOVE almond so believe me I ate those. The cake itself was so rich and creamy and soft. I love mousse more than anything and it just melted in your mouth. It was such a deep chocolate flavor (I believe it was dark chocolate) but it was delicious. Best way to end my night. I paired it with my favorite bubble tea. I always get brown sugar milk tea and it was the perfect match for my cake. It was sweet and creamy. I don't care for boba too much so I left the pearls out. If you are in cary and love this type of scenery and baked deliciousness, try them out. I should have tried the matcha mousse cake but definitely next time! Oh and they have ice cream as well for ice cream lovers! read more

Friends picked this up for us as desert for after dinner. I thought the presentation was amazing. The plant motif was really spot on and for a second I really did think it was a plant. The custard was ok but it could be due to the fact we went towards the end of the day it just seemed tired. Flavor wise generally ok and not too sweet. I generally do not prefer most desert stores due to the fact that the deserts are way too sweet. read more
We were able to pick up food quickly, but the line was not moving at all. They seemed understaffed for Saturday crowd. Once they had two cashier's the line seemed to move fast. The tea was a 5-10 min wait, but at least at that point we could sit down and eat our delicious pastries. We were able to get 7 pastries and 3 boba teas for under $50 which I consider a win. The pastries were very scrumptious our favorites were the curry bun, scallion, and mango danish for the sweet taste buds. Would come again on an off day. Parking is minimal so be prepared to loop around. read more

This bakery is so beautiful and clean! The place is very spacious and decorated nicely with cute lights, seating, and plants. The place is also great spot for pictures! The way everything is set up is super beautiful and I love the way the food is set up. It's inside a glass case so you can't touch it and have to ask a staff member to put it on a tray for you where you then pay for it and can get it heated up. I got at least 10 things, I wish I remembered to take pictures of everything but I took pics of the selection instead so that will do. Things I really liked: the cheese bread, the chicken curry donut, the tuna and cheese bread, and the veggie bun. I'm a big fan of cheese as you can see. Their cappuccino and taro milk tea was super delicious as well. I would honestly try all their drinks because I'm sure they're all amazing. You can get different flavors and toppings while getting them hot or cold. (See menu pictures attached) I definitely have so much more things in mind I want to get like the matcha bun, stuffed coconut pastry, and corn bun but I'll be back for an updated review. Not everything is for everybody but it's 100% worth trying! There's something for everyone. They also have crepe cakes which I have to get next time and if you've never had a crepe cake before make sure you get one!!!! They have many different flavors. read more

Do NOT order birthday cake here! Check out the picture. We placed the order 3 days in advance for my kid's birthday. But when picking up, we see a generic cake with a lame label stuck on it. This is NOT a custom-made birthday cake. All they do is to plug a lame label. So lame! read more

The people who comes here feeds on hype but I prefer quality over quantity. Sure pastry has vast selection but the base tasted all the same. Their chocolate mouse tasted so bland., seemed like they use the cheapest chocolate wafers to make it. Same with the mocha roll., dry, bland and can't even taste mocha anywhere even in the buttercream filling. And $7 for a milk tea.,ordered Taro milk paradise., they should have called this red bean paradise because it's mostly red bean i I tasted. And who puts whole pieces of nuts in a milk tea? Didn't even bother crushing it., you know., just like on their website. Anyways., safe to say that we are not coming back. read more

Finding a large bakery or pastry shop in the RDU area is a bit complicated, but I finally discovered this gem that for some odd reason never crossed my path. They are classified as a Bubble Tea Shop / Baking Studio, but I feel like it's so much more...its an experience from start to finish. Ample parking outside, and you walk into a very white decor...yes, heaven! You walk to the left to clear glass cases with both sweet and savory goodies. You grab a tray and plates and start filling up. Walk a little further to the right and more delicious desserts await (oh and there is ice cream / milkshakes). Once your plates are full, head to the counter and check-out. You can eat in the large indoor or outdoor seating areas. Whatever is leftover, and I guarantee you will have leftovers, ask for a box and take the awesomeness home. The staff is friendly, but if anything, they could do a better job proactively helping guide customers that look lost...because this is a unique process. There are signs but it's a bit overwhelming. That's a minor challenge though, don't let it deter you. Next time I go here, I plan to be hangry...bring it on! read more

I'm not sure what I was expecting but it's not what I got. I was given dozens of impossible choices to choose from. I went with my fiancé and great friend and the tray quickly became laden with a selection of 1/2 dozen treats. When taking the pastry from the case I assumed that the pastry was just like every other I've ever had, heavy and dense. Boy was I glad to be wrong. My first bite was like biting into a cloud, pure heaven. Then there's the drinks. The peach rose cold tea was fantastic (I had to get two) and I got two each time we went (four times in three days). I hope someday to go back to Cary or Richmond so I can have some more bites of heaven. read more
