It's not as succulent as other places for sure, but you know when you eat real chicken vs. like dino nugget stuff and you can just tell by the chew? Yeah. It's real chicken. Flavoring is alright I'm at a neutral place with it. JASMINE MILK TEA w/ boba: My tea is very light it's ALMOST like I'm drinking water, but the saving grace of this are the pearls and the fact that it's not super sweet! They're definitely on the softer side, so I don't think I'll have a problem with it if I'm drinking it a few hours after being in the fridge. ROASTED OOLONG MILK TEA: A stronger tea for sure! Got it less sweet with regular ice but is definitely still too sweet for me. I would recommend adding ice or requesting more tea to be put in! It's not super strong that it'll keep me up, but isn't too weak either. A good afternoon pick me up. MATCHA MILK TEA: The prize winner of this experience tbh! My amor for Amor Cafe and Tea is no more. Amor used to be a convenient place to get boba near SJSU, with a decent amount of options, good quality boba, and tea that tasted pretty okay. I always opted for Amor over Quickly (which is no longer in business). Alas, no longer... The list of flavors displayed on multiple flat screens (at least for the day I visited a couple weeks ago), has dwindled down to a single 8" x 11" page. No coral blue, no panda, no NOTHING! The only listed flavor they had which peaked my interest was the lavender milk tea, so I ordered that. The woman working was definitely new, because she asked me to repeat my order three times, and she ended up giving me the wrong size drink. Oh well. What I couldn't get over was the texture of this boba. It was waaay overcooked, so much so that it felt like clumps of mucous floating around in the tea. Sound gross? Yeah, felt gross. Randomly came in after my appointment won the raffle from Pride 's parade yesterday because on the way home I feel thirsty and the weather is super hot. I'm not an avid boba drinker, but I opted for 3 drinks matcha lemon tea , taro milk tea and thai milk tea. I drank it all taro milk tea in the car. Seriously taro with almond milk is perfect , still creamy but not sweet. And matcha lemon tea they put inside some lemons and the taste is 10/10 after I got home , ate dinner and finish it too. So far I try coupe drinks at my 1st time all are bomb I honestly even like this place better than Tisane and Pekoe or a few boba tea I have been visited. Boba that is consistently good is a huge thing in my book and Breaktime has always exceeded my standards. Never once, no matter the time of day, have I had hard or old boba. They have a wide array of drinks, toppings, and delicious food. The staff are always super sweet and friendly. Since we were feeling like coffee I ordered the coffee milk tea with Boba and my friend ordered a strawberry milk tea with strawberry hearts and Boba. There was a question about how sweet we wanted it...I feel like at these places it's never really entirely clear what less sweet means or more sweet means. I don't like my drinks super sweet so I asked for less sweet. The woman working said that she could get the person making it to let me try it before covering it to make sure it was to my taste. This was a cute place, great ambiance. Very clean. We ordered the green tea with sea salt cream, pina colada, and passion fruit tea. We also got fries, popcorn chicken, and a raindrop cake. I enjoyed my iced roasted oolong milk tea with crystal boba more than the hot coffee milk tea I got last time, but I don't love that Breaktime has only one 24 oz size for cold drinks. I don't need to pay for, or drink, that much tea. The cashier said the roasted oolong has the strongest tea flavor of the milk tea drinks, and I can confirm this. However, if you want a specific sugar amount, be specific when you're ordering. I accidentally asked for "less sweet" instead of specifying 25%, and my drink was still very sweet. Right next to SJSU library and so far have tried their popcorn chicken and bubble tea and are happy with both. Don't dine in here (or stay for a long time) though. They have a half-opened kitchen, and they do tons of fried work--end up making the whole place smell heavily oily. The waiting time can also be a bit long compared to similar venues, expect a 10 minute wait for your food and bubble tea. Popcorn chicken is 4/5. It is 7 dollars and you get a palm-sized box of chicken. Mine was a bit over-fried, the taste was good but the marinade probably lacks the cinnamon that makes Taiwanese popcorn chicken extra delicious. Bubble tea is 4.5/5, strong tea flavor that waked me up for the afternoon, a tiny bit watery than the best ones I've had but pretty decent. Would recommend! read more

The downside, though, is that the place is actually very, very small, with barely enough room for a couple of tables that are squeezed close to the garbage area. With tea places popping up everywhere its hard to find a good enough reason to even review one. This location switched owners so many times I don't remember what was here before. A bookstore? I noticed that Amor is a lot cozier than most places with only about 6 smaller tables, a love seat and about 4-5 counter stools. What they lack in square footage they make for in service and very good tea. Which you can have cold or hot and sweetened or not. We also tried their snow flakes(mango). It was quite refreshing! Someone in our group ordered a cake and an espresso. I tried the cake and I like it. I heard the espresso was divine! They take credit cards and they have free parking! We sought this little cute cafe out to try their tea and coffee jelly and although not overwhelming I would say the two drinks we did try were solid. We tried the iced latte with coffee and peach tea with ai-yu jelly. The espresso was a little light for my tastes(although I'm partial to extra strong rich coffee), and the coffee jelly was chewy without being soggy and had the right amount of coffee flavoring. The peach tea definitely tasted like it was directly from soaking tea leaves which I look for(also the reason why I like Ten Ren Tea). There are about 4 bar stools against the window and 4 or 5 tables. It was well lit and pretty mellow on this Fri evening.
