Who's house is this? Breakfast House! But for real literally looks like someone's house converted into a casual breakfast diner. I dig it. Parking? Free on the street. We parked right in front. While we were here for breakfast, they do have quiet the variety of options. Everything from pancakes & waffles to omeletes & benedicts and even chicken and waffles and a variety of Mexican inspired dishes from the supreme chorizo hash, breakfast burrito, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros. Yum! What'd I eat? After much debate, I ended up going with the the chorizo hash while I was here and it was BOMB. While I enjoyed my dish, my wife's salmon cake benedict wasn't everything she hoped. Let's just say it tasted fishy (as in not fresh as one would like it to be). Sounded good on paper, but would probably pass on it the next time around. Noteworthy? For coffee, they proudly boast the Intelligentsia they serve up. Quite the upgrade from a standard coffee you'd get at a normal diner. Price point? The chilaquiles were the best ones I've had in the entire city of Chicago, and I have tried them everywhere. I will definitely be back. The breakfast potatoes were also a delight. Service was great - staff was attentive and very nice. It didn't take long for our party of two to get seated on a Saturday morning despite the place being relatively busy. Loved this spot. Nothing super fancy, but high quality folks and food! Breakfast House is a minority owned business in an unassuming part of town. It's was a quick Lyft ride away from the train station, which was where I was heading consecutively. I started with the fresh squeezed orange juice. You cannot beat a place that serves the freshest OJ. It was a nice surprise. They also serve Intelligentsia Coffee and that was wonderful also! For my meal I chose the Paris Omlet, which was a perfectly cooked savory omelet with ham and cheese. You can taste the quality of their ingredients. It was just what my hungover self needed! Omg this place is a must go place if you're looking for some really really good breakfast/lunch choices. The wife and I visited this establishment on the recommendation of friends. It was a Sunday morning and around the heart of breakfast time, ~9am, when we arrived, 4 of us to be exact. We gave our names and put in our phone number to be contacted when we were ready to be seated. They had quoted about 30 minutes since they were rather busy but to our surprise, we received a text message within 10 minutes that our seats were available and to head to the restaurant for seating. Off to a really great start to this establishment! On to the food and menu... Everything sounded SO good. For me, I'm a burrito type of person so I try breakfast burritos wherever they have them available. My wife tried the huevos hash. Omg if you've ever had a food flavor explosion before, this is exactly how the food felt when taking a bite from our food. All the flavors complimented themselves as they nailed it on the flavor pairings. I've tasted some really good breakfast burritos but this one topped them all. The way that they topped the burrito with the sauce and lightly with sour cream. The hash that accompanied the burrito was lightly crisp on the outside yet seasoned and flavored well on the inside. My wife had almost the same exact expression on her face when she bit into her dish. It was flavor fireworks... Ended up at this restaurant by accident (and luck) just from walking around trying to find somewhere to have breakfast. Well definitely happy we gave this place a chance, it's a cozy environment small but spacious with a lot of seating space for small and big groups. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, our server was very nice and checked on us frequently to make sure we were happy. The food was all fresh and didn't take too long for us to get our food, and food was delicious. They have two restrooms( one for women and one for men ) and both very clean and well kept. I was on a run and I randomly stopped in here because it was by my best friend's house. It was so amazing when I tell you these were some of the best pancakes definitely top in my top 10 and would highly recommend ended up having to go back to my best friend's house and I had her join me at the restaurant. I have been to this restaurant twice now within the last couple of weeks. Both times the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Even though the tables are located on both sides of the restaurant outside and there are tables inside, the staff managed to get to everybody in a prompt fashion. While I didn't care for salmon cakes on the salmon Benedict the first time, that was my problem for not reading the menu carefully since I don't like salmon cakes anyway. However on the second visit I had the BLT Benedict with chipotle sauce which was beyond excellent. The restaurant is only open till mid afternoon and I'm sure early in the morning on the weekends it is packed but I would recommend you trying this anyway. Fresh and unique breakfast dishes, some with a Latin flare. The poached eggs were perfecto, and the homemade granola was fruity, crunchy, and chock full of blueberries and strawberries. Great BYOB brunch spot! Free parking outside if you're lucky enough. You can do online checking when they have a waitlist start and thankfully only had to wait 10 mins versus 30 mins. I went with two friends and got a nice table. It took a few minutes to get someone to greet our table and order food. We were able to bring in our champagne and they provided us glasses and a bucket to keep it in which was great. was able to order the supreme chorizo hash and it was delicious! I love the benedict eggs, omelettes, house potatoes... The service is always sweet and they are fast. This place is a cute little gem for breakfast. We ended up here after the hot chocolate 5k because my sister and her boyfriend had dined here before. We added ourselves to the yelp waitlist to avoid lines and decrease our time of waiting. Upon arrival we were at the top of the waitlist per yelp. My sister checked us in and was not told a wait time. After asking the host how long the wait would be, she said at least 15 minutes. I was a bit confused since we had put ourselves on the waitlist via the yelp app. After asking the host to explain the process to me, all she could say was that people were sat, regardless if you were a walk-in or yelp waitlist, in the order they walk through the door. Didn't give me a clear explanation, but ok. I really was just trying to understand how the process worked. If the waitlist didn't allow us seating as we showed up then say that. Her affect was flat and her customer service in my opinion was poor. Overall she didn't do a great job of explaining the system even after I told her I didn't understand what the point of doing the yelp waitlist was for if we were still going to wait. Besides that, the waitress was fantastic. Bubbly, nice and prompt. The food was delicious! I had the chorizo hash dish and it was amazing. I wouldn't mind coming back again. This was a really great spot for breakfast. We went on a Sunday for brunch and didn't have to wait too long for a table. We added our name to the queue via Yelp, but it doesn't exactly work that way. It did speed up the process a bit though. We ordered 5 entrees for the 4 of us and went to work. I can only speak to my French toast and Chorizo scrambler. The Chorizo Scrambler was tasty and the portion was good. I just wish it had a bit more Chorizo in it! The Guacamole on top was a nice touch, albeit without a lot either. This was certainly worth the trip overall. The French toast was pretty basis, but was a nice add to the meal. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't a particularly "great" entree. Hot coffee and good service were a plus. It wasn't a super-great value, esp since it's a bit out of the way. However, it'd go back if I was in the area. Brunch is the best thing that was ever created!!! After a great workout, I was able to grab a quick bite at breakfast house. Super easy parking in front, it's all free so that was a plus. The waitresses were super friendly and very accommodating. The hash special was amazing. It really gives you a combination of everything. You got the hash, the onions, the bell pepper, sausage, need I say more? It does give a bit of that Latin mix in there and if you put all those ingredients in your mouth at once, your mouth is having a party. You'll thank me later. I put our name down and the hostess told me the wait was about 10-15 minutes. You can check your spot via the link they send you in the confirmation text. The wait time was accurate and we were seated on time. The space is cozy and cute - definitely feels like someone's home inside! We brought a bottle of Prosecco and made our own mimosas (BYOB). We had a party of 25 2 weeks ago. We did have a slight bit of a wait while they got our area ready but that aside I can't recommend this place enough.
