Halibut sando

Incredibly expensive for the value that you get. At first glance at the menu, I thought, "Wow, these prices are through the roof!" After ordering, I foolishly expected the food to be of high quality, which would be the only reasonable excuse for their price. My table received our food, and it looked okay. My fries looked (and tasted) like McDonald's french fries. The fish sandwich tasted heavily of store-bought guac, and the fish lacked overall taste. Even if the prices were different, I probably would not return to this cafe. The sandwich was the most disappointing part of my experience. I would love if something different was done for the sauce / guac that could pair better with the arugula and fish.

The most delicious shrimp tacos.

The aroma was drifting through Stinson's beachy air this morning. Open, clean outdoor seating welcomed us. We were greeted as soon as we made it to the counter after a short wait in line. The menu had some pretty tasty options. But.... The shrimp tacos were amazing. Five stars. I'm hooked. So is my sister. Perfect reward after an amazing hike.

First time trying this restaurant. Overall, my favorite thing was the ambiance of their outdoor seating since it's very close to sausalito beach. The steak nachos was really good, but I didn't like the fish tacos since the tacos and fish ended up being soggy because of the pickled veggies that they added. It's a self service restaurant, you order and pay before picking up your food. No servers. Parking can be very limited depending on the weather since the beach is closeby.

Its our first time in the area. After our hiking from Alamere Falls, we were hungry and tired. This is the first restaurant we found on our way home. It was freezing outside and there's limited fireplace so we went inside. We ordered steak taco and hamburger. They were so great! The burger is not dry and cooked perfectly and the steak taco is a lot. It tasted very good. Well prepared. The service is great too. The server brought utensils, napkins and catsup. We are definitely going back to get some beers.

Unless you were unprepared for Stinson beach day and it was a last resort, I would stay clear away from this spot. This is an Expensive eatery for a place where you serve yourself. The food was good yes but is about 3x you would pay anywhere else. The ambiance is open seating like a brewery and the view is not beach but neighborhood town road or patio wall. I had the crab bisque, $14 for a pint size with yummy garlic bread (but no crab chunks) and $9 can of suderks beer (being from Davis, I use to get these drafts for $1-3)! I wondered if the tip had to be included already in price. Anyways avoid to save your wallet. Just pack a BYOE (everything) of affordable food and picnic on the beach.

Best shrimp taco of my life. Great location after a big hike. Had a nice glass of wine with it. Great service too.

GRILLED SALMON SANDWICH

This is our go-to eatery when we are at Stinson, mainly because of their dog friendly patio. As a couple, we have collectively had 4 or 5 different menu items total and they've all been pretty good. I wouldn't say the food is spectacular but it's tasty enough. I do feel it is slightly overpriced at $18-30/entree but I guess that's the price for an outing to Stinson. Like another reviewer said, it's more about the ambiance and proximity to the beach than it is about the food. Overall, decent eats, lots of tables on the patio, and dog-friendly. Oh! And there are bathrooms available for customers.

NASHVILLE CHICKEN SANDWICH

The outdoor space is really nice, and the location is great--walking distance to the beach. We got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and were pretty disappointed. Given the name, we were expecting typical Nashville cayenne sauce/seasoning, but the chicken itself had a sweet sauce with it instead. On top of this, the sandwiches were lukewarm. For nearly $20 each, we expected them to be hot and fresh. The food was fine, but quite expensive for what it is, which is probably attributed to the location.

Dungeoness Crab Melt

The Drinks were good. Not much else was though. This does seem like a nice chill spot to hang out though. I was really excited to try this place but the food was just a bit lacking for me. My crab sandwich had the flavor but it was really missing the main ingredient: the crab. That's the one thing that really bugs me when I go somewhere and I see Crab Cakes on the menu. You definitely gotta have a good amount because the customer is already paying extra for that tiny luxury. On top of that we ordered Clam Chowder and it was just ok. Definitely could of used some more salt if anything but at least there was there was good enough fixings in that. I'm not sure if I would try them again since I struck out with two items. But at least the fries and booze were good.

Very mediocre food for an expensive price. Burger was dry. I actually quite enjoyed the fries, they were very crispy, but I wish there were bottles of ketchup instead of just packets. Overall experience left me wanting more, especially considering the price.

overall B+: great North Bay Stinson beach side restaurant/patio. The food and service and prices solid, vibe of the place outstanding. Halibut sammy, fresh poke salad. Just beware of local bird droppings before sitting outside. Drive from the highway was super beautiful and fun, especially in a boxter sports car.

This place is clearly a tourist trap but at least the food isn't bad.  Crab melt was decent. There was quite a bit of crab. The fries were decent. Salmon tacos were so so. There was quite a lot of salmon but the tacos didn't taste lively even with the squeeze of lime. The flavour profile of both dishes was muted, but the tacos felt the lack more.

SHRIMP TACOS

We stopped by before our journey to Mendocino. It's a small but cute area. You order outside at the bar and the outdoor patio is pretty big and dog friendly. Bathrooms for customers too and a place to fill up water. It is kind of pricy at $25 for 2 shrimp tacos. Shrimp taco was pretty good. But it's about the vicinity to the beach and location I guess. I'm sure at night it looks even more fun.

Huge drink list as well. BBQ Chicken Salad - $17.00 Canned Fort Point KSA - $6.00 Salad was plentiful, lots of warm BBQ Chicken chunks and fresh Avocado chunks tossed w/the tortilla strips and dressed w/the dressing. I asked for the Pico on the side, not realizing the Pico consisted of the beans, corn, onion and tomato. This little dish was pretty skimpy & I had to pick out the few beans, corn & red onion, leaving the tomato. I was hoping the beans, corn and red onion were "in the salad", not the Pico. I don't like tomatoes, hence my ordering the Pico on the side. Happy to recommend if you are looking for fresh, reasonably priced food.

They do have seating indoor as well, but it being a lovely day, it's always nice to eat al fresco. These seats are indeed coveted, especially on the weekends. The day I was here, a woman had beef with me because I only had coffee and didn't have a number (indicating that I had ordered food). Not go to into too much detail, but we kindly told her that these seats are for everyone. I did end up ordering food a few minutes later, was given a number for the table, and tried their veggie omelette ($13), which was delicious. Featuring goat cheese, kale, poblano chile, red bell pepper, roasted potatoes & ciabatta toast, it was just the right amount. I felt like waving my number in that lady's face, but I have more tact and class than that. Anyway, would come back here again, number or no number.

The menu is basic items you can find at most places in the area. We ordered fish and chips, and fish tacos from the walk up window. The only seating for the cafe is outside, however they also have a small coffee shop next door with indoor seating. Overall, the food was just mediocre. We have had these menu items at other places nearby, so we felt like we were able to make a good comparison. The fish in the fish and chips order was heavily breaded and over fried to the point that the breading was hard. Fries were average. My fish tacos had small pieces of fish that were heavily breaded and overly-fried. Large pieces of cabbage were scattered over them, and some sort of green sauce drizzled on the top. Not much taste. The tortillas were soft with good flavor. The venue is lovely, as is the gift shop and coffee shop, bathroom clean. I'd go back to the coffee and gift shop, but would pass on another meal from the cafe.
