Dropping in during our Point Reyes Station visit, the honey adored their focaccia and couldn't stop raving about it, while I ended up ordering an amazing massive meringue and some delicious canned coconut water. The service was friendly and helpful and we loved that they carry simit. I also can't speak highly enough about their gorgeous outside garden area and how lovely it was to sit and enjoy our snacks there. Such an adorable and delicious spot. Found parking on a Saturday in early May around noon like 50 yards away. They are busy and had a short line, I spent maybe 10m total waiting to order then waiting for my food to come out. I spent $41.48 on: Toast with (I think goat?) cheese, honey, seeds & flowers - 4.5 stars Rye-chata latte - 4.5 stars Olive oil cake - 4 stars Cinnamon roll - 4.5 stars. Tasty cream & flowers on top. Croissant - 4 stars (for my daughter) Note there's no restroom but a pretty nice public town one a couple blocks away. There's a beautiful garden with several private little seating nooks. I chose a spot under a trellis that had an artsy looking homemade water fountain coming down from a small water tower. Note: it's standing room only inside: so take away or eat outside in the garden. There's usually a line on weekends (and they close early) but it's always worth the wait. The fruit and shortbread cookies & their granola are delicious, as are the pastries. A delicious bakery in the heart of Pt Reyes Station. They sell wonderful loaves of sourdough, sweet and savory scones (ginger, chocolate chip, sausage and cheese), cakes and meringues, rye and ciabatta bread. On weekends they have a limited supply of sandwiches and parfaits. The store itself is very small; on weekends the line is usually out the door. There are a handful of small tables and a beautiful garden in the back. Their hours are limited Thursday thru Sunday 8am-2pm only. Best advice is to go as early as you can to beat the crowds and the cyclists!! read more

We stopped by this wonderful bakery before checking out the rest of the Point Reyes Station area. There was a line out the door which was a great sign. They had a wide variety of fresh baked breads, pastries and cookies that are baked on site. My husband had a slice of quiche and a cup of coffee. I decided on the spinach mushroom cheese croissant. We also bought two different loaves of bread, biscotti, cookies and crackers to take home. They had everything displayed so nicely and packaged neatly. We asked if there was a restroom we could use, and they said they didn't have a restroom. I thought that was strange for an establishment that serves food and drinks. They did however tell us where there were public bathrooms close by behind the grocery store about a block up the street. Both the quiche and savory croissant were delicious. We will try the rest of our goodies over the next few days. It's definitely worth stopping here if you are in the area. They do have some seating outside but that's it. read more

This is a MUST when in Point Reyes!!!! One of the best bakeries I've been too! It can get crowded, but the line moves fast. Everything is on point, from the coffee to the pastries to the bread, I can't say enough good things. Service so friendly and welcoming, and they have daily specials of breads and scones etc. they have a nice hug garden out back to sit and enjoy your foods, but inside is just the counter where you order and you can see the kitchen as well which is cool. You have to get the sesame cookies!!!!! Also the focaccia is incredible I'm so sad I only got one piece. The whipped cream in the coffee is so good as well. The line out front moved quickly so I figured that this bakery has to be good . Then once inside it's easy to understand why folks wait. We sampled the seeded baguette which was delicious, a spelt cookie that my hubby gobbled up before I was able to snap a pic and a plum meringue. All, so good! I've passed through Point Reyes Station at least twice a year for 35 years and just discovered this incredible place during the Point Reyes Bird and Nature Festival. While there, we enjoyed their delicious scones, quiche, toast with butter and jam, rye bread, sourdough bread and lattes. Oh my gosh, talk about a darling atmosphere!!!!! The garden area is NOT wheelchair friendly but they do have a wheelchair ramp into the store and a lovely, big table with chairs. The woman who served me is super duper kind (beautiful, gray hair) and helpful getting me everything I ordered. The meringue (cherry & chocolate) are super delish! I had never had one and needed to go back for two more before I left the area. The mocha was.... underwhelming. The espresso was crafted beautifully, but zero chocolate flavoring at all. Alternative milk prices were high, unfortunately. Their quiche is also wonderful. Everyone was very, very kind. The variety of batards and ficelles has expanded considerably, as has the choice of muffins, scones, almond cakes and cookies. Nestled between a cheese shop and a clothing store, here is a cheery bakery offering freshly-made pastries and breads. Brickmaiden's menu changes each week depending on the season, so there's something new each visit! I made my way through the door and past the many bicyclists who had stopped at Brickmaiden for a bite. Inside, the baked goods on the counter in front, the biscotti on the wall to the left, and the pastry chefs in the kitchen behind me--the shop hummed with activity. I ordered a ginger scone and a currant scone and went into the back garden to eat. The ginger scone was surprisingly sweet, and the currant scone was buttery and lightly tart. Just as the bakers were busy between the main shop and the bake house, the hummingbirds and bees zipped among the flowers in the garden. It was an experience to watch! Surprises on the menu? I am still daydreaming about my next opportunity to return here. One of the best parts of going to cafes with my 5 year old is that he always picks baked goods that I would never think to order. Thus I was introduced to the cardamom teacake which is an absolute winner. Waiting around, or going for a walk and coming back for a fresh croissant at 9:00 is also worthwhile! The cinnamon one tasted almost like a morning bun. And as others pointed me to their sourdough baguette, so too will I suggest you grab the smaller loaf, find some cheese (you have plenty of places to find it) and go to town. My boyfriend ordered a scone and according to him, it was good. My issue was with a tall older gentleman who was packing the van. I don't know if he was the owner or not. But we overheard him loudly proclaim to the younger cashier, "don't you just want to punch someone when people talk to you that way." Even if our country wasn't going through particularly divisive, often verbally and/or physically violent times, the comment remains startling and exceptionally unprofessional. We were shocked that he would say this within earshot of several customers and to be honest, that he'd say this at all. As someone who has worked in service, I know customers can be hard to navigate; but to use violent rhetoric...there are so many ways to express frustration that don't compromise safety. Really cute stop, I love their to go station which is really practical. I needed 2 cups of hot water and I was asked to make a purchase which I did. They are marshmallow squares were five dollars, and they were very pricey for the amount that you get.
