A Cozy Spot in Point Reyes Station Toby's Coffee Bar is hidden on the left side of the entrance of what I call a barn on the main street of Point Reyes Station. It offers a variety of coffee, tea drinks, and pastries. Outside, there are tables and benches where you can sit and chat with friends or other visitors while enjoying your drink. The coffee drinks are good, and the beans they use are organic and come from a San Francisco-based coffee roaster called Linea. I like them because they are somewhat different in their setup and atmosphere. So, whenever we are there and feel like a cup of coffee, Toby's is where we stop. One thing to note is that Toby's also has a small shop where you can buy local products, books, and gifts. It's a nice place to browse while waiting for your coffee. If you have kids, there's a small playground next to the café where they can play. Overall, Toby's Coffee Bar is a great spot to relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. read more

Cash Only This coffee place is very cute but easy to miss, it's to the left of Toby's Feed Barn in a little kiosk. I've gone to Point Reyes Station for years before I even knew it was there which is surprising because the town is not that big. I appreciate their hours which are 6:30am-5pm. This makes it easy to get coffee before and after hikes. Cowgirl Creamery recently closed and Bovine closes super early so Toby's has the edge on the coffee market. Standard coffee drinks but they do have green tea with rose petals which I like and is harder to find. Plenty of seating, fun to sit and people watch. read more

This is such hidden a gem! Tucked away from the outside its hard to tell there is delicious coffee behind that barn door.. until you smell it! We were back at the station around 4:30 after an all day excursion up the coast and were looking for some coffee for the road back home. Things seemed to be closed and as we walked by I heard music followed by the smell of coffee! We were surprised to see this adorable little kiosk in the barn across from a small grocery type store. They have a great selection of teas and coffee, I tried the herbal Jasmin and the cappuccino and both were great! We took our drinks and explored the barn and found a small back garden area with two chairs to sit and have coffee. The music was coming from a the end of the barn where a lovely lady was playing the piano really adding to the ambience of the place! Note: This is a cash only place. My friends and I stopped at Toby's today for an afternoon caffeine pick-me-up. I had the iced chai, which was $4.50 for a small. It was subtly sweet and very satisfying. My pet peeve with iced chais at some places is when there's too much milk, but Toby's offers a very nice ratio of chai to milk. Note that it's cash only. read more

I've been visiting Pt Reyes Station for just 3 years. Each time I've visited both Toby's Coffee Bar and the Bovine Bakery. The baked goods at both are excellent. On my previous 2 visits, my experience was that Toby's had more of a variety, and better prices. This time, I couldn't find any baked goods under $5 at Toby's. The Bovine Bakery did have a few things under $5. The Bovine Bakery accepts credit cards, Toby's is cash only. The ambiance at Bovine Bakery is pleasant, Toby's is next to their hardware store and it feels like a warehouse. I personally feel that available seating close to Bovine Bakery is more pleasant (street views and a little park close by). This time both places had a nice variety. Based on my most recent experience I think Toby's deserves 3 stars, and the Bovine Bakery 4. read more

Toby's Coffee Bar is right next to Toby's Feed Barn in Point Reyes Station along their main strip. If you've been to Point Reyes Station before, their main strip is basically a strip that you could easily drive through with a blink of an eye if you're passing by the area. There are other places you can get a cup of Joe here, and we've basically tried them all. Toby's Coffee serves your basic coffee, tea drinks and pastries, and it's a place where you can grab a seat or bench and enjoy the atmosphere. Their coffee is more on the bitter end, if you prefer yours bitter, but it's decent enough to get you going throughout the day. But some of their pastries and other baked goods are pretty good and perfect complimentary to your drink of choice. You can't go wrong if you do stop here to get your cup of Joe, and the place is very relaxing. It's a good place to watch the tourists and visitors wander around this quaint little town. 3 1/2 stars. I was walking through Point Reyes Station looking for an afternoon caffeine jolt and noticed several perky people walking towards me holding coffee cups. At the end of my quest was Toby's Feed Store which has an attached espresso coffee bar called Toby's Coffee Bar. Parking is decent, but it is easier to just walk. The coffee is a solid three star, but the ambience pushes it to a four star experience. I always judge a place on their plain espresso, and Toby's produced a good pull at a decent value for the area. The bar is cash only, but many people were still able to get their fancy drinks without much fuss. Atmosphere is a great reason to visit Toby's. The feed store stocks all the classic livestock feed and accessories, but they also stock many modern items and coffee. This is rustic chic and worth a stop for animal or human feed. They probably need a Square account and an iPad to serve the modern tourist, but Toby's Coffee Bar is a fun little option for coffee in a fun little town. read more

Nothing to complain about. We stopped here to grab a coffee while traveling through. The line was long but there was only one employee working, we weren't in a hurry and he was working hard and getting coffees out timely. They are cash only not a big deal to us as many places are today. Their pastries were beautiful and a wonderful variety. I had Almond Brioche and it was heavenly my husband a bran muffins which he loved. We are both fussy about our coffee and it was just fine. The had a great selection of non dairy milks. Soy which was unsweetened, Califia almond and Califia Oat. I chose soy decaf latte. Super good decaf. No fancy latte art, which is not important to me, but flavor was great. Hubby had a cup of black coffee. We both thought it was very good. Way better then Starbucks for us. We would go back again for sure. Great place to stop on a drive out to the coast. Such a charming little (teenie tiny) cafe that sits in such a charming little town!! I was impressed by their selection, both of drinks and pastries! My boyfriend got a Chai Latte (they made these with a Tazo, pre-made carton - if that's your thing. I'm not too impressed) and a slice of banana nut bread that he said was amazing. Not too sweet and extra moist, apparently (even thought we bought it in the late afternoon). I got a Matcha with almond milk, and WAS impressed and pleasantly surprised to see pure matcha powder come out and be whisked together :') Yum. Seriously enjoyed that. It was a hefty $5.50 for that drink which... I'll admit, I didn't enjoy as much. Regardless! There are certainly cheaper (and more reasonably priced) things on the menu to enjoy. This coffee bar is located on the main road a little past the grocery store. On a Saturday, this area is crowded because of the farmers market outside. The black coffee here is ordinary. Their Chai is very good. It's not sweet like the typical store bought ones; super strong and slightly spicy from the chai flavor. Also ordered a spinach breadstick. The breadstick was a little cold and I think it would have tasted a lot better if warmed up. Don't get me wrong, it was still good. Nothing can beat cheese and spinach for a morning snack. read more

This is a very tiny storefront that only accepts cash. Got a large mocha here after a hike. Hey for .25 you can upgrade to a larger size, which my wife and I shared, which was a no-brainer. And it was very good. She also got a breakfast roll (kinda like a cinnabon roll but no frosting) and that was pretty good too. It's a sustainable community with beautiful fruits, veggies, handmade shirts, creaking outdoor rocking chairs, pumpkins and harvest decors. It's a great spot to pause during a winding highway 1 north ward trip. Both the cafe latte and chai (highly recommend) have a perfect house blend of sweetness (subtle and mild) and creaminess (also smooth and mild, not overwhelming at all). This is a must stop place for me, when heading out to Point Ryes National Sea Shore. They have a few different baristas. They are not all one and the same. But all are decent. One is exceptional. The coffee they use there is so tasty. Also they have fresh baked goods, currently on the weekends from, Della Fratoria , (an amazing bakery from Petaluma) or Stalinas another great bakery about to open a brick and mortar soon the rest of the week. I've been to Toby's a few times. It's a charming location in an old barn/feed store with nice outdoor seating. Coffee here is okay, I've had hot mochas here in the past that are about on-par with Starbucks. Had an iced mocha that was awful, just gobs of chocolate at the bottom unmixed, ended up throwing the entire thing away rather than drinking it.
