I love this shop. Prices are huge but they have great gift options and I love seeing their offerings from food, clothes and bath things.

A huge thank you to Oscar who I believe is the manager of Toby's. Last Saturday I lost my motorcycle keys somewhere near Toby's. After retracing my steps many times I went into every store in the vicinity to ask if anyone had turned them in, without any success. My only option became to leave my motorcycle ( with luggage from a weeklong trip) in the street, find my way home to Santa Cruz and return the next day and to hope that my bike would still be there. Oscar was at the checkout stand at Toby's and suggested that I bring my bike into their parking lot which they lock up at night. I rolled it in and returned the next day to find everything as I had left it. Oscar then told me that he would keep my phone number in case my keys were turned in to the store. Very quaint store! Stop by here on the way to Pt Reyes Lighthouse. Store has snacks, organic fruits and veggies and ..... Burned Caramel Gelato. We were trying to restrain ourselves from eating sugar. So, we decided to get just 1 bar. Bad decision for the day! I felt cheated since he does not savor , he devoured the bar in 4 bites. read more

Just love Toby's! Baby chickens have hatched ! So cute ! Love this general store . Great produce , fabulous cheese & lots of condiments. I love the books they carry , I seemed to buy one each visit . Great selection . Love the tea towels , and the Pt Reyes Station goods . Great for sending . The coffee is always delicious as well as the pastries . They host a farmers market starting end of June . Lots of hay & birds flying thru the barn . I scored colorful measuring cups , I did not need , but too pretty to pass up . Very friendly staff . Toby's is central pulse for Downtown PT Reyes . What a great store. Anything & everything is awesome. Great selection of high end pasta's & risotto's. Being from The East Coast I wasn't used to the prices for $4.00+ gas, restaurants meals & groceries. By no means am I being negative. The pricing of San Francisco, Tiburon, Mill Valley, Point Reyes & the rest of California is what it is. I saw more Hundreds & hundreds of Tesla 's every day. Much different than New England Enjoy checking out these prices on many food items. Boxed water was interesting. What I did notice is wherever we went we never saw roadside trash expect a baby's diaper, all dog poop picked up. Lot's of hairpin turns & always compostable take out boxes. We should all be more socially aware. Toby's I wish I had an extra suitcase to fill up with all your great items. We did bring back your specialty pasta's & Rissottos. read more

Very nice space in Point Reyes Station that fills the role of "general store" and "gift shop" with a big selection of greeting cards, gift books, snacks and drinks. We stayed here for a while because they had a great free wifi signal. I bought a one pound bag of almonds. Sweet Sriracha almonds. Oh, yes! And an orange that was massive. Bigger than a softball. How could I not? Cool space. Great snacks. Worth the stop! read more

Exploring downtown Point Reyes Station, we spotted Toby's Feed Barn and had to check it out. Wonderful store with a great variety of items: specialty foods, produce, souvenirs, tea, jewelry, t-shirts and more! I particularly liked the lotions, but they were just a tad too expensive for this shopper, or so I thought at the time. Wishing I would have indulged; they had great scents and were of excellent quality. Next time. We didn't leave empty handed, though, taking home a cool coffee cup, pint glass, wine glass and sea salt chocolate. Definitely a must stop destination next time we are in the area. read more

You can't help but stop by Point Reyes Station on the way back from the Tomales Bay Oyster Company or frankly any point from Point Reyes. It's a Mayberry-like hamlet filled with leftover hippie-types and yuppie burnouts replete with Highway One doubling as the town's main thoroughfare. And of course, in such a bucolic setting, you need an expansive notions store aimed at the passing tourists. The aptly named Toby's Feed Barn fits the bill. Organic jams and jellies. Hand-knit caps. Putumayo CDs. Coffee bar in the barn. Art gallery with a blind auction in the back. Fresh produce in front since there's a farmers' market on Saturdays. After imbibing a bellyful of oysters and twist-top wine, I was not in the mood to buy anything here. Nonetheless, the browsing is enjoyable enough even though the price points are as urban as anything you'd find on Union Street in San Francisco. If this kind of variety store bores you, by all means, get back into your overpriced car and exceed the speed limit getting out of Dodge. Who needs ya here? read more

This place is always a must stop when visiting Point Reyes. I love their knickknacks and their exclusive Point Reyes items. I always want I buy everything in the store! This place is wonderful. In addition to the fresh fruit and veggies, they have a fantastic selection of gourmet snacks, jams, etc. Great cheeses are waiting for you in the fridge. There's a nice selection of gifts if that's what you're looking for, and they have Voluspa candles, which are among my favorites. Toby's is a great place to shop while visiting Point Reyes Station. We love that they carry two of our favorite Marin made items - Brickmaiden Breads and Rancho Gordo beans. We stock up on both every time we're there. BTW - Brickmaiden bread is absolutely amazing bread. Get there early to buy it or it's gone. They have many other great items too of course from fresh local vegetables and fruits to unique to Marin items. It's really kind of a special place. There's a little art gallery space located in the back of the store (not sure if it's part of Toby's or not) that's fun to look through. If you're in the area, you should stop by and say hi. First time checking out Point Reyes Station today. Toby's was a standout due to the architecture and small town vibe combined with eclectic merchandise. I was able to pick up a variety of gifts including blackberry honey, gourmet small batch chocolates, Golden Gate Bridge socks, and a book about finding your passion. The book was a gift for my nephew who is turning 18. Perfect message as he embarks upon adulthood! When I asked for a separate bag as it was a gift, they wrapped it in red tissue paper for me. I also found a great birthday card. After paying, we sat out at one of the picnic tables near Toby's coffee stand. We enjoyed sharing the chocolate while the gift was opened. Simple pleasures after a full weekend of adventures. Toby's atmosphere pulled it together. They'd even had live music when we first got to the patio area, but the artist was finishing up. I wasn't sure what to expect from a name like "Toby's Feed Barn," but I was pleasantly surprised by the cute, mom-and-pop feel of the store! They have a bunch of random items for sale, ranging from touristy items, to clothes, to bath salts/soaps/lotions, to greeting cards. They also have a wide variety of chocolates, taffies, nuts and other little snack items to choose from. Everyone was very friendly and I really liked the laidback vibe of the place. It didn't seem as touristy as you might have thought it was, based on some of the items they were selling. Prices are a little steep for what you're getting, but that's not necessarily surprising in a tourist trap like Pt. Reyes Station. Still, the store is worth at least wandering through. read more

Toby's is a Pt. Reyes destination. There are a nice collection of tables and chairs - but for me - most importantly - espresso worth savoring. The espresso window may not look like much - but you would be wrong to pass it by. Their bean supplier is Four Barrel out of SF - which means the quality isn't going to get any better. More amazing is that the people manning the espresso bar are talented right down to the latte art. Order a breve latte and maybe a pastry and pick a spot on the picnic bench to do some people watching and appreciate the latte. Don't be surprised if you think you recognize somebody. Toby's is wonderful! I love their seeds: by the pound or the package. I was advised on what to grow by a gent on their staff who really knew plants... I then saw him using the forklift on the bales of seed hey? All staff are kind and welcoming --Toby's serves the community with its art gallery and seating areas that everyone enjoys . it has a yummy small selection of to go foods, and a nicely-curated gift area with local artists cards, and other things that shimmer : jewelry ...T-shirts that shimmy....books, wonderful tea towels-/oh, I have purchased the tea towels on several occasions as gifts! A pineapple image with the word welcome on a tea towel and a gentleman riding a bicycle with some added about getting wiser with age as well as tee towels at Se point Rie Station on them...everyone loves Toby's with good reason. They didn't have a lot of food here that was made locally except for some dried fruits and nuts. My aunty and uncle are a fan of nuts so I got a bag of BBQ almonds for them. Not too much BBQ flavor but the almonds were toasted perfectly. Toby's has a little bit of everything with a small fresh fruit and vegetable selection, snacks, clothes, trinkets, and music. I think it's worth a short pop-in if you're cruisin' around downtown Point Reyes Station. read more

Just take my money! Such a cute little shop packed with all kinds of sweet goodness. If you need a pick-me-up or gift, you'll surely find it. Even if you don't want to buy anything, grab a coffee next door and wander in for some fun window shopping, to check out the art gallery in the back, and to take a load off in the rocking Adirondack chairs in front of the fireplace (mmm cozy). I oogled the farmers market type goodies, splurging on some orange almonds and local honey, spontaneously bought a birthday card months in advance because it was just so cute, and stocked up on water for our hike and firewood for afterwards. Toby's Feed Barn is a destination in little Pt. Reyes Station, so much so they once had pictures of Prince Charles&Camilla when they came to visit the Bay Area. Toby's has cleaned up, even adding an art gallery. Currently, they have an exhibit about women, feminism and environmentalism, complete with an Omphalos, and a creative assemblage showing an eco-friendly way to garden using recycled bottles. They have an amazing array of food, including jams made in nearby Bolinas and American Canyon-based Marshall Honey with its special honey sourced from Mt. Tam wildflowers. They have San Francisco-based TCHO chocolates, and Rancho Gordo Beans from Napa (along with hot sauces) They also have a great selection of souvenir postcards and cards depicting Marin County. Ambiance...You've gotta love a place that has stacks of hay bales, horse and goat feed on one side of the wall with French doors that open onto an art gallery, often with some pretty impressive art - and a yoga studio on the other -- and pull it all off with rustic charm. In fact, I'll bet that's about the only haybarn with french doors to an art gallery. The Cappuccinos at the little coffee and pastry bar are damn tasty...right up there w/ Blue Bottle, especially when my favorite baristas make them, which they usually do. Pastries are made fresh and often still warm, walked from the gourmet restaurant Stella's across the street. Toby's is a great place to people watch, and hang w/ the locals. Inside Toby's general store, is a mix of organic produce to gourmet goodies, and hand-made artsy goods, trinkets and boutique-worthy items and unusual cards. I keep it on my list for finding unique gifts for birthdays and around the holidays. Some of the prices are great. Other's like the t-shirts and sweatshirts seem a little high. I also go in to buy horse cookies...and they have a variety of domestic pet supplies, and sometimes live baby chicks that the locals buy. Toby's is Point Reyes' town central for the Saturday AM Farmer's Market...with those awesome gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches....and local band/shindigs. I love that Point Reyes and Toby's is all about supporting local organic farmers and the local arts and business community. They definitely think globally/support buy locally and are all about community support and pride. read more

Toby's is a tourist's dream - and in that I expect that the locals probably don't do much shopping here for anything other than feed. They've got a great selection of interesting edibles, local produce (if I'm remembering correctly), and even an art gallery in the back. The "feed barn" comes into play along the side and this literally does appear to be a place where people can buy feed for their farm animals. Attached to this is a small cafe and a tiny little hole in the wall where you can buy various bulk seeds of things like local wildflowers. A great place to come for gifts or a snack! read more

Barn + Sur La Table = Toby's Feed Barn. Fresh fruit and a bazillion varieties of honey. I was in honey heaven! Alas.. I didn't pick one up because the bf was with me and he said we didn't need honey... (tear). We did pick up some awesome fruit. $2.25 for a basket of strawberries, ubber plump grapes and large and in charge nectarines (waiting for those bad boys to ripen). Also picked up a huge full bag of dried mangos.... WOW. I've never had a bag that full before in my life and I believe it is now half way empty. We were charged a dollar less then what it said on the bag, so that was a big plus :) Going into Toby's Feed was a great close to a lovely motorcycle ride/following in the car day. Lots of people walking around in downtown Pt Reyes on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Strolling up and down the tiny streets. Eating fresh fruit from the store... What could be better? read more
