Great spot to stop after a hike and visiting the lighthouse, but I don't think these products I got a and my visit to the lighthouse is worth $37.44. I understand their location but c'mon?! I've been to other secluded areas in NorCal, but this is just too much. I love supporting local businesses but this spot isn't and never worth coming back to.

Convenience store that is well stocked with plenty of food and other supplies. They have a deli for made to order sandwiches. There are no restrooms inside, only a nasty Porto potty outside.

Very yummy sandwiches! affordable and very big' We payed $12 for just the one sandwich and were able to split it! Staff was very friendly and had lots of good options for food, snacks, and drinks! You can walk around the back and sit by the water and was very relaxing!

I love this store because the owners, Raj and Nveita are super friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are made fresh and they go out of their way to accommodate me with my special dietary needs. Their selection of root beer, cream sodas, ginger beer and other specialty sodas are out of this world. I never seen seen so many specialty sodas (in addition to regular sodas). They have many items (that you forgot to bring with you ) for the beach or picnics. There is a nice little sitting area at the back of the store that has great views of Tomales Bay and the surrounding hills. The medical helicopters land in the grassy area next to the store. And the shipwreck is behind the store. The store is across the street from the post office. They have specialty gourmet items, as well as ramen bowls, frozen food items, ice creams, snacks, cheese, and staples.

This was the best kind of deja vu. We were on our way to the coast and I was starving. I remembered stopping for a sandwich - I remembered it was a good sandwich the last time we were here. But I didn't look at my last Yelp review and didn't realize that I ordered the same sandwich I ordered last time: turkey, avocado and cheese on a Dutch crunch roll. Yes, I got the Swiss and yes, everything else on it the way it is supposed to be. And the lady was there again to make it and it was again magical. I literally could have cried at how good this sandwich was. It felt like a warm hug. It was wrapped beautifully in white paper and a little thank you sticker with a heart. It was just as good as last time and I ordered some gummy peaches and a Reeses Take 5 bar as well. The total was about $17 with everything. Thank you to Inverness Market!

Went in on a Saturday afternoon after racking the lighthouse. We were famished. The last behind the counter was super sweet and promptly whipped up 7 sandwiches. They were delicious and fresh. Cute little market with tons of drink and dry food options. Nice cozy no thrills place for some reasonable real food!

Super veggie sandwich on dutch crunch.

To be honest I never come by this store, but the one I usually go by for food was closed. I was pleasantly surprised by my sandwich, not bad at all. I asked for it to be loaded up and staff did just that. The rest of the items are expensive (aka almost $5 for a bag of chips), so plan ahead and bring your own snacks! They do have a pretty large selection of grocery items though and one of the only casual spots in that direct area open on Sunday. I wish they would add a few sandwich spread options besides mustard, Mayo, or oil. Pros: Sandwiches are basic, but good Wide selection of grocery items available Open on Sunday Easy to swing by for food on your way to the beach/hike Staff is friendly Bread was soft and tasted fresh Cons: Pricy (ie $11 for a veggie sandwich) Very limited fridge items

They will bring you your drinks and food. It helps to know this so that there are no misunderstandings or unpleasant experiences that get in the way of enjoying your food and the casual vibe. Fortunately for me, I already know this. But I didn't know about this on my first visit. This time I tried the falafel. It was a different experience than I'm used to. It was served as an open faced sandwich, a different take on a salad presentation. I found that it was a fun experience. You taste every bite that way, and you can sop up the excellent hummus with the pita bread. The staff is always friendly here, and the vibe is easy going casual with excellent food.

We said no, we're just waiting in line. They walked around us and went inside. The hostesses came out and speaks only to the people directly in front of us. I heard, "you're in the wrong area, you can order inside." Neither my husband or I are acknowledged, given an eta, or menus. So we wait for the people ahead of us to move and they do nothing but look at their menus. We wait a bit more, nothing. So we walk up to the menu on the wall to decide what we want. The people are still standing there, so we assume they don't know what they want yet and go inside to order. The hostess walks up to us and anxiously tells us there's a line. I let her know we were in it and the people in front of us weren't moving. She tells us to wait outside, and again no eta or menus are given to us. So we go back to our spot in line and look at all the empty tables and decide that the system feels disorganized and there appears to be only one waitress for 10+ tables. After waiting a bit more, we leave. At the end of the day, Side Street could have had proper signage for the line. The hostess could have addressed everyone and handed out menus. The restaurant could have even gone fancy and had an ordering tablet. But as it currently stands, Side Street Kitchen's service isn't great and its structure needs some work, so we don't see ourselves returning.

Strawberries grown on the farm and picked that morning, figs, fresh flowers, crackers -- all combine to make this an incredible experience. We learn about the process of dairy farming and making the cheeses. The cheese maker has won numerous awards for his cheeses, and after this experience, it is easy to taste why. Delightful! After finishing our morning hike at Tomales Bay Trailhead, we did a quick Google search and found that The Marshall Store was the nearest restaurant. What also appealed to us is that in addition to serving oysters, The Marshall Store offered heartier fare such as soups and sandwiches. We drove straight from the trailhead and arrived just after opening (~11:30 AM). There was a short line out the door, but it moved quickly, and we were able to place our orders in about 20 minutes. After ordering, we found a table in the covered patio outdoors, which is squeezed between the Bay and a two-lane road. Our food came out quickly, starting with two types of oysters - fresh and BBQ - as well as clam chowder, ceviche tostada, chorizo fish stew, shrimp po'boy, and trout salad. The fresh oysters were briny and tasted fresh-from-the-ocean, and the BBQ oysters (my favorite) were served warm with a unique smokiness that was enhanced by a savory red sauce. I split the shrimp po'boy and chorizo fish stew with my friend, and together, this was a substantial meal. The shrimp po'boy, one of the best I've ever tasted, consisted of fresh jalapeño cheese bread stuffed with jumbo, juicy shrimp and lots of crisp veggies. The chorizo fish stew was hearty and flavorful, although it cooled off quickly and was lukewarm by the time it was served. The meal overall was on the pricier side given the casual vibes of eating roadside, but all of the seafood was incredibly fresh, and portions were generous. Plus, it's nearly impossible to re-create the roadside/bayside dining experience anywhere other than Tomales Bay.
