This store has fine sando's; I tried the Turkey, Cheese, Cranberry. Choice of bread. A yummy sando for $12.62. They have some wines; and a great selection of Beers and IPA's. I even found Avian Surveillance Division. My favorite. Customer service: fine. Tip: in the back of their store are a few lunch tables with a view of the bay. Not to be missed. This store has SO MANY interesting bottles of boutique soda. If you don't drink alcohol, but still like cracking open a bottle of a craft drink, then this place is for you. To be fair, they do also carry some alcohol, but the alcohol section pales in comparison to the sodas. I bought a bottle of Cock N Bull apple ginger beer (for anyone who doesn't already know this, ginger beer, like root beer, is completely non-alcoholic), and a can of Pocasville bebida de T de hibiscus. I was going to pick out more drinks, but noticed that there were no price stickers anywhere. So, naturally, I wanted to know how much they cost before picking too many out. When I went to the register with my two items, I was given some serious sticker shock. It was well over seven dollars for two sodas. Of course I understand that food is really expensive right now, and that, the further the food has to be transported before purchase, the more it costs. Still, wow. That seemed so high. In addition to the amazing selection of overpriced sodas, this small store also had a great selection of (pricey) chocolates, cheeses, and hiking snacks. Additionally, they have a produce section that actually makes the store in Curry Village Yosemite look good. There were exactly two lemons, two limes, three oranges, four apples, and one piece of ginger. The cashier was maybe a little odd, but friendly. He recognized the people in front of me by name, and had a nice little conversation with them. The store was neither exceptionally clean or dirty, but looked clean enough. Parking was very limited with only about three spots out front, but there appeared to be more places to park across the street. I love this store because the owners, Raj and Nveita are super friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are made fresh and they go out of their way to accommodate me with my special dietary needs. Their selection of root beer, cream sodas, ginger beer and other specialty sodas are out of this world. I never seen seen so many specialty sodas (in addition to regular sodas). They have many items (that you forgot to bring with you ) for the beach or picnics. There is a nice little sitting area at the back of the store that has great views of Tomales Bay and the surrounding hills. The medical helicopters land in the grassy area next to the store. And the shipwreck is behind the store. The store is across the street from the post office. This was the best kind of deja vu. We were on our way to the coast and I was starving. I remembered stopping for a sandwich - I remembered it was a good sandwich the last time we were here. But I didn't look at my last Yelp review and didn't realize that I ordered the same sandwich I ordered last time: turkey, avocado and cheese on a Dutch crunch roll. Yes, I got the Swiss and yes, everything else on it the way it is supposed to be. And the lady was there again to make it and it was again magical. I literally could have cried at how good this sandwich was. It felt like a warm hug. It was wrapped beautifully in white paper and a little thank you sticker with a heart. I stopped by the Inverness Store yesterday on the way to the beach. My friend and I got vegan burgers that were surprisingly yummy. It had been more than a few years since I'd stopped by, and it looked like it's been renovated and really cleaned up. The store was clean and well-stocked (but be forewarned, it's not a full-service grocery), with snacks, beverages, and more. Bonus points for being open on a Sunday, as the first store we stopped at wasn't! The customer service from the man behind the counter was friendly and welcoming, and our burgers were made quickly. They were not cheap, but they were nice and heavy, and the ingredients used were fresh- I've often gotten nasty freezer-burnt patties from restaurants and markets when I order a veggie or vegan option, so it was nice to get something palatable. Overall, I enjoyed the food, and so did my friend, and I would stop here again. read more

We came to this store on some advice from a person that comes here frequently. At first we were a little concerned since one of the workers (older female) was out side smoking a cigarette. That is normally no big thing but she was wearing her plastic protection gloves. Then she used them to open the door etc. I almost left think she was going to make my sandwich lol. (That would have been a nope). However there was a nice hispanic couple making the sandwiches. They were very friendly and took our sandwich order. While waiting we looked around the store for some drinks and chips. Not a huge selection of items but it is a small store. We payed the lady with the gloves and she was not overly outgoing and not too friendly but she also was not in any way rude. We took our sandwiches to a a nice spot (there are plenty of "nice spots" in Point Reyes) and relaxed. The sandwiches were excellent. When I say excellent i mean they were top notch. I had the Ham, turkey and bacon club sandwich and my wife had the chicken bacon sandwich. They were both warm sandwiches and made with fresh bread and fresh produce. We had gone to a store down the street (another review) the day before. We like this Store much better for the sandwiches. I would highly recommend this store for their deli sandwiches. read more

To be honest I never come by this store, but the one I usually go by for food was closed. I was pleasantly surprised by my sandwich, not bad at all. I asked for it to be loaded up and staff did just that. The rest of the items are expensive (aka almost $5 for a bag of chips), so plan ahead and bring your own snacks! This is a real place. Quick no nonsense picnic sandwiches for your day in the park. Today we had a classic reuben on rye and a blt on sourdough. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced, delivered with a smile. It is a quirky interior. Tons of different sodas in the cooler-makes for a fun stop with young kids. Hubby and I were staying in Inverness for our anniversary weekend. We stopped here to grab drinks on our way to our air b&b. The clerk Raj is super friendly and asked us if we were visiting. Raj recommended places to go and places to eat and gave us a visitors book. What a nice guy! We hiked the next day and wanted a quick bite and came back for sandwiches. My wife and I stopped here on the way back from biking to Pt Reyes lighthouse. First off, the lady working there is so sweet! She made us some delicious sandwiches and we were pleasantly surprised at how good they were! I had the Turkey Avo Bacon on Soft French and my wife had the Turkey Avo. Everything was so fresh! The bread was amazing and all the veggies they put on top were soo good. We walked around the store and were really surprised at how good a selection of things like root beer and kombuchas and chips they have. This place would make a great stop to gather picnic items. Absolutely avoid unless you absolutely must have something and cannot drive to another nearby market. The woman running the shop this morning was so massively mean, so shockingly nasty for no reason, I thought I might be on a candid camera show. Half the store is beer and wine, I immediately spotted a Pinot Noir which sells for $12 at Trader Joe's for $29.99. Okay, it's that kind of store I figured, costs more for things to reach here. I'll just get what I need. I got a hunk of cheddar cheese, a box of Triscuits, a bar of Ritter chocolate and a dozen eggs. I could see the person in the back, I sent a friendly "hello there" back to her. No answer. I looked around for a minute more. I called out again, "Hey there." She came out and I said, "Hi how are you today?" Ignored me, pointedly. "What can I do for you?" She snapped. Okay, someone pissed in her cornflakes, I won't force her to be friendly. She rings it up -- there's no way for you to see a register price or total, just one removed register with no screen visible to you. It's just under $30. She flipped around the card machine to me, said, "do you need a receipt?" I was swallowing paying $30 for these 4 items, but okay, when traveling... I said, yes please. "Text or email," she snapped, and went in back. The screen immediately reset, having finished the transaction, not offering me a receipt. That's pretty shady. She came back out to help someone else, I pointed out the machine didn't offer a receipt in any form, she threw -- yes, threw -- a pen and post-it note toward me, "leave your number, my manager can call you." Now, I always try to think of like, "what if her dog died today?" Or something. I'm an actively friendly person. I won't force chat on someone but I always smile and say thank you, etc. There's no explanation for what would make this woman so actively hostile. She had matted hair that looked like it hadn't seen a bath in a few days, I would absolutely not want her touching any food I would eat. I would just say, drive the 8 minutes to Point Reyes Station, Palace Market has a great selection, way more reasonable prices, and reasonably friendly and helpful folks. Also Inverness Park Market is even closer and looks good. You can see the scenic shipwreck behind this store, but I would avoid going inside this store-wreck, until it has new management. read more

We have been visiting the area every year since 2010. We had heard they made great sandwiches but when we went in there to try to order, the prep area didn't look too well maintained. Prices on products were basically non-existent, meaning one had to ask the clerk how much something costs and the quoted prices was always on a high side. Only good thing we observed was they had product that was more mainstream offerings compared to the competition in the area. The times we have gone into the store throughout the years, (we visit the Pt. Reyes Boat wreck) basically we observe the same thing. It is a rustic location in a building that has seen it's fair share of decades passing but for lunch spot surrounded by great views it's hard to beat. My apologies for the absence of photos the interior of my work truck isn't terribly photogenic. Fair price for a warm roast beef sandwich on toasted bread. Took a drive out to Point Reyes and after hiking in Bear Valley decided to look for a sandwich on our way out to the beach and happened upon the Inverness Store. The little deli inside the store had quite a few options available for sandwiches but I settled on the Turkey and Avocado on a Dutch crust. Mike got the Reuben with sauerkraut and Swiss on a soft roll. They toasted the bread which was a nice addition. Sandwiches were simple but I swear they always taste better when made by someone else. Plenty of meat with fresh toppings. We'd stop in again if ever in the area and wanting a quick sandwich. read more

Asked what time they would be open and how late the deli bar would be open and planned around this. Surprise! The deli was closed when we got there, despite having confirmed hours that same day. Looked like it would be mediocre at best but it was close. But given that they can't even stick to the hours they tell you on the same day, I wouldn't count on anything else being of a particularly high standard. read more
