The space is small but the steak is so good you'll only be focused on that. Filet mignon $48 (5/5) - comes with mushrooms on top of your steak and your choice of 2 sides. I got the mashed potatoes and green beans. It's an extra $3 charge if you want a baked potato. The food looks basic, but the filet mignon was soft and juicy. Your entree comes with bread and that's some GOOD bread. Espresso $7 (5/5) - comes with a lemon on the side. This was the most unique espresso I've ever had. The steak was so good that I came back 2 days later to have it again. The server recognized me lol. Service was great, food was amazing. You pay more if you pay with credit card instead of cash. Both times that I visited, it was after 10PM & we were looking for food choices near home & remembered that Brazen Head is open late, including the kitchen, has great food & cocktails (mainly martinis). My most recent visit was last night, after the Kings of Leon concert at The Greek Theatre & feeling hungry while driving back, we went to Brazen Head. We opted to sit at the bar (more fun to people watch and/or engage with other patrons & the bartender). Since it was kinda late, we shared an escargot appetizer & with warm bread to dip in the buttery goodness & we had our own bowls of soup (my friend had the French onion soup & I had the New England Clam Chowder, which I saw featured on the chalkboard as a daily special). The food hit spot for us. I had the French martini (Grey Goose, Chambord, pineapple) which was balanced & delicious. I came here solo on a Friday night and it was packed. I had circled the bloack a few times and found a good parking spot a few blocks away. They do not take reservations and I was hoping to slide into the bar, where I could order and eat a meal. They also have outdoor tables on the sidewalk, but it was way too cold and not good for a solo diner. I creeped at the bar for about 20 minutes, ordering a drink before I was able to grab a seat. They have 2 small TVs playing sports and no draft beers. The dining area is also small, but I loved the divey vibe. Once seated, I browsed the menu, but already knew ahead of time I was getting the prime rib. It was great and a good value as it comes with potato and veggie, so a complete meal, not a la carte like some places. Went for Valentine's day and the vibes of the restaurant were amazing. They don't take reservations so going around 5:45 we had to wait about an hour to get seated. The decor and lighting was so cool, everything was tinted orange and they had a lot of picture frames and mirrors lining the walls. Our waitress was so kind and she always came around to chat with us about the food or how our night was going. It is one of the most affordable steak restaurants we've been to in the city, the filet mignon was 48 dollars. French Onion Gratinee - A very warm and savory dish. We loved the sweet onions and the bread was delicious, soft and soaked in the soup so well. Heirloom Tomato & Burrata - Everything about this dish was fresh and light. The tomatoes with the arugula, burrata and thin crackers was such a nice start for our meal. T-Bone Steak - This was a special on the sign we saw outside. Got it with a side of baked potato which came with all the goods, the cheese, onions and sour cream. The T-Bone steak came with a chimichurri sauce that was very herby but was a little too tangy for us. Filet Mignon - Our favorite dish of the night! Ordered the smaller 5 ounce size with a side of mashed potatoes which were soft and buttery. The meat was juicy and so tender, melted in our mouths and the creamy, herbal bearnaise sauce really complemented it. Having enjoyed prime rib a couple times in February out of state reminded me that this is one of their staples. After getting the menu, the discussion centered around what to share besides having our individual entrees. Being a sunny and balmy day, I started with a glass of iced tea. The portion was perfect for dinner though the soup didn't leave me room for my baked potato which I asked to be packed. By the time we were ready to leave, the bar counter was about half full and there were three other tables with diners. I guess, being a bar, they get a later crowd. They have an outdoor dining structure when the dining room fills up. Thanks to our gracious and cheerful waitress Erin in guiding us through our meal. When I got home, I later learned there was one mishap with my packed-to-go baked potato. There was a small container of sour cream and no bacon or cheese that was on my plate. How have I waited so long to try this place! I live close by, but had never been. I finally tried it for dinner on a Thursday night around 7pm. They don't take reservations but we showed up and were first on the waitlist. We grabbed a drink at the bar (Brazen Head martini, dirty) and as soon as we finished our table was ready! You have to try these martinis, they have blue cheese olives and are absolutely perfect. You can also eat at the bar it looks like. For dinner we had the French onion soup, prime rib, and lobster ravioli. Omg everything was so good! The soup was rich and had a ton of cheese on top. The ravioli was so fresh and I ate every bit of the cream sauce with the free garlic bread - it was actually quite light and delicious. The prime rib however was next level. It was a really generous and thick slice with the most amazing sauce and creamed spinach. Also comes with a side! The service was also super friendly and everyone was so kind. Amazing hidden gem in the marina! Came here on date night and really enjoyed the moody ambiance + local feel. There are no reservations and the place was PACKED both at the bar and at the dining tables. We waited about 35 mins for an indoor table but it was worth it! My 1st visit was so exceptional, I have been back 1 more time since. My friend introduced me, otherwise I don't think I would know anything about it. It's so unassuming and has no sign outside. My guess, it's a neighborhood gem and what a gem, it is. I love the feeling of an old speak easy inside. Kind of dark, dark wood, curtains on the windows, low lighting @ the tables, quiet ambiance, very intimate, which makes one want to speak in a quiet voice. It's a very "meaty" menu, which isn't usually my go to place. But I had to try the meatball appetizer and oh my, they are delicious and the sauce, it has to be scooped up by the extra bread. 2x now I have had the burger, as it's so dang good and huge. Each time I have taken half home as it's so filling and always cooked perfectly. Great wine list both by the glass and by the bottle. Service is exceptional and so friendly but not intrusive. The servers make one feel very welcome. Good coffee and my friend and I both love the fact it comes in it's own little silver pot. Feels so elegant.
